Simone Bradley (Diane Gaidry) is a teacher who finds peace within the walls of Saint Theresa's school, and purpose in bringing the wonders of poetry to her young female students. Though newly arrived student Annabelle (Erin Kelly) has notable intelligence and charisma to spare, her fiery disobedience finds the stern headmistress imploring Simone to reign in the young rebel. But Annabelle's insubordination is about to become the least of Simone's concerns, because when the advances of the passionate young woman reveal her teacher's innermost desires, the devoted teacher will be forced to choose between her career and an affair that could quite possibly destroy her livelihood. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi|

If you like movies that feature relationships, Loving Annabelle fits the bill. Of course the problem is that no matter how much anyone is in love, it is just not possible to act on your feelings if you are the teacher, and the object of your affections is your student. Many of the other reviews complain about the 'abrupt' ending, but it suits the movie.

This is the story of a young lady who was sent to a private catholic school by her mother, who's a Senator. There she feels out of place, but finds comfort with her teacher, Simone. Their intensity grows throughout the school year to where one night everything changes.
It was a decent love story to watch, but didn't bring much for me. I also didn't really like the ending....it ended so abruptly.

Not that good. Can't understand how this is rating quite highly on here. The acting and story is like a bad porn film, and the topic is a bit icky. I have no problem at all watching a movie aimed at, or featuring gay people, but it's a bit off when one is a teen girl and one's an older teacher. Yes, the teacher is reasonably sympathetic, and watching the making-of doco clarified what the director was trying to acheive, but it just does not work. Erin Kelly is just hard faced and comes across like a little trouble maker, do not buy her as being genuine in her feelings at all, even though she is clearly meant to be, and ditto to the other class mates, not even remotely convincing. Diane Gaidry comes out of it with a bit of dignity, but it's not saying much.
There are much better movies out there if you're a fan of this genre, :"But I'm a cheerleader", "All over me", to name just a few...

Eh. The whole thing was pretty boring. I just felt like it was a whole lot of nothing.

This is a pretty good film and is definitely worth your time. The romance between teacher and student unfolds in generous broad strokes of passion until the quite heartbreaking end.

I really liked it. The chemistry between the two main characters is just fantastic. Some parts were kind of corny and the ending is semi-abrupt, but I liked that it ended the way it began. Kind of ironic really.

Acted and directed in a surprisingly subtle fashion, the whole student-teacher-story is given an original, appealing new twist. The actresses have amazing chemistry - this film was a huge hit at festivals for a good reason.

I was pretty thoroughly unimpressed with this movie. I have no idea what it was trying to accomplish. Its plot reads like a thinly veiled excuse to show lots of lesbian sex, except there wasn't that much sex when it came right down to it. It could have been an attempt at a coming-of-age story, except the teenage character really never came of age or learned anything. It could have been a character study, except that characterization was never developed. It could have been a drama about forbidden love, except that the forbidenness of it is, oddly, never really discussed. It could have been a groundbreaking LGBT movie, except for the fact that it painted all the lesbians in the story as sex-crazed and vaguely predatory for no particular reason. In short, it feels like a movie that was trying to go so many directions that it never made it to any of its goals. This script needed a few more rewrites before it was ready to shoot.

A moralistic, unlikely ending spoils this otherwise touching story, which features a non-pornographic lezzie love scene so hot that I my allegedly "straight" girlfriends admitted being turned-on.
Loving Annabelle is the third remake of Mädchen in Uniformwas (1933), and as is my understanding, each remake misses the point of the original a little bit more. Loving Annabelle is a tad sappy and maudlin, and the ending would be unlikely in real life. There is no way Annabelle and Simone would be stupid enough to allow themselves to be caught, and given how the Church so adamantly protects its priests there is simply no way that Mother Immaculata would turn Simone in to the authorities.
The ending is unnecessarily melodramatic and follows a pattern in US mass produced culture whereby characters who break taboos must be punished to prove the filmmakers don't advocate their behavior, even though the entire vehicle up to that point is usually a strong justification for breaking the taboo.

Terrible screenplay, phoney dialogue beng forced into the mouths of flat, disbelievable characters. That's an offense to the actors too. As cute as Erin Kelly is, she seriously needs acting classes. Ilene Graff wasn't that bad, and her character was probably the best in the film as the oppressive principle of the forcibly Catholic boarding school for troubled teens. Not much else to say, bad movie. D+

After having watched so many lesbian films and being utterly disappointed with the majority of them, it was a relief to sit through "Loving Annabelle." The story touches the heart and is an incredible intro for Katherine Brooks into what I hope will be a long, fruitful career as a Writer/Director for feature films. She takes a controversial subject and handles it well without compromising reality. I am grateful for her courage not to take the easy way out. It sets a standard I hope other film makers are willing to step up to.The excellent cast and direction make this a very memorable viewing experience.

A kind of boring story of discouraged love between two women at a Catholic boarding school. I didn't find it to be as touching as the movie obviously thought it was, but it was sweet & very "real". The things that annoyed me the most were A, the unfinished, abrupt ending, and B, there were waaay too many bath scenes.

The script was way better than the movie, a lot of mediocre acting and some cheesy dialogue but tons of good conversation in between. This is far from the best "gay film" I have seen. 2/3s of the movie, the characters are either crying, depressed or upset and you just... stop caring. They should have made Annabelle a lot more confident and bold in life and not in her sexuality. The poetry was at best "sterotypical".

i have watched the movie at least 12 times . i really enjoy the movie, simone and annabella are great. You can see the sparks, challange, and the attraction between the two of them. I wish they would make a second part. Dont really like how it ended.

A pretty good movie, but it would have been better had they showed more love scenes between the characters before ending the movie. I also didn't feel the ending was strong enough. It seemed too "open".

Well.. I'm not sure what I think about the ending.. It seems like a really bad end.. but at the same time.. it seems like there would be something just as wrong if they had done it the nicer way..
Overall a good story, well acted.. and really makes you think..

If only my teacher crush had been like Simone... High School would have been so much better. Loved this movie. Bought it when I first saw it at Blockbuster and havent regreted it. Beautifully touching story and the best sex scene I have ever seen. Great job Katherine Brooks.
