Classic common man against the corrupt system film. Yes, it is very idyllic for our times, because some processes are irreversible. But it cannot be dismissed as simplistic in its presentation of the necessity of truth to stand against greed and personal gain. It really does boil down to one good man doing the right thing. Change comes when Every Man makes that stand. A defining role for Jimmy Stewart. Along with "Meet John Doe", it should be required viewing for every prospective politician. |
