The romance in this film could never be equaled. Anne and Wentworth are characters that are not to be forgotten in this amazing adaptation of the Jane Austen novel of the same name.
My "guilty sin" movie. I have watched it many times and cannot get enough of it. Lee Holloway and E. Edward Grey are perfect for each other. To see this kind of romance film out there makes me very happy indeed.
Introduced me to the original and sarcastically witty Firefly series. Not only is the dialogue in this feature is funny, the story is entertaining, there's lots of action and the visual effect are stunning. A must-see!
A society filled with corruption is the backdrop of this film, in which a mysterious stranger known only as V saves a young woman, Evey, and thus helps her and the whole country find freedom. Raises all the right questions.
There are simply too many aspects of this movie that make me think of its brilliance. It is a visually thrilling film, the music is great and "way up there", the dance numbers are glamorous and the story is brilliant and heartbreaking. It is an understatement to say that the greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.
One of the best love story of all time. Absolutely, one of my favorites. The actor playing Mr. Darcy is positively enchanting and dare I say the best Darcy of all time.
I loved this one. A satiric comedy that is surprisingly very funny and at the same time touching. Malone really shows her worth as an actress in this one not to mention that her performance touched me. The one scene that I consider best is the one in which Malone's character doubts her faith.
A very touching film and a grand performance by Carrey. I've watched this one several times and I've loved it each time. The message in the end for me is truly moving.
The lack of scenery and theater-like view of the film is strange at first but by the time Kidman is in the picture you're no longer aware of this... and if you are you will simply see that it is all for your better enjoyment of the film. A criticism to these horrible times we are living in and a clear picture that everything we do is never really good enough. This film is not to be missed and to be watched more than once as well!!!
Not many will be compelled to watch this or be touched by it but I could say it is one of the few films that has absolutely touched me and sent me to genuine sobs by the end of it. It is based on a real story but more than that it relates to hundreds of stories. This film shows us the real worth and strength of a mother who faces many odds and manages to overcome all obstacles and proudly raise her children. I highly recommend it.
As soon as I read the synopsis of this movie I knew I had to see it and I was not disappointed. The story is great though you wish we'd get more information into this story and the end leaves you wanting for more. However this does not stop it from being a great film to watch out for.
The film is much more than just two teens who are sucked into a 50s television show, and the great cast makes sure of this. It shows us the wonders of our imperfect little world that is not always as pleasant as some of us would like it to be but it is, at least, truly real and all we really have for ourselves.
-What does Marcellus Wallace look like? -What?? -What country are you from? -Wha-what? -What ain't no country I ever heard of. They speak English in What? -What? -English, motherfucker, DO-YOU-SPEAK-IT?
Classic western film. Loved it! "If you're gonna shoot, don't talk, shoot."Well I obviously watched the director's cut (I didn't realize this until I heard a bit of the commentary... I actually thought the film had been THAT long) and though I think I should've watched the "normal version" first, I absolutely loved this movie. Why? Well first off, there's Clint Eastwood (the Good) who played a character named Blondie, who by the way was not exactly blond in my opinion, but was absolutely badass and I don't even need to mention handsome. Then there were the showdowns. Phew! I think you can actually sweat while you watch those parts. And finally, the "When you have to shoot, don't talk, shoot" which is a very good lesson for all the bad guys of the world who always feel the need to reveal the way they got to the top and how now they're going to take over the world, blah, blah, blah and the hero, being, of course, smarter and wiser, kills him while he talks. An even better thing about this film is that everyone here is a bad guy and we see none of those repertories before a guy is going to shoot someone, thank you very much. Not only that but I also learned that there's always two kinds of people in this world, my friend...
This is one of those movies that punches in the gut and leaves you out of breath for a great deal of the finale. Sweeney Todd does not disappoint as a great musical about a barber out for revenge. The numbers are great and guess what... Johnny Deep can actually sing! Sacha Baron was pretty good in his role too. The "A Little Priest" sequence might be one of the most brilliant musical pieces ever portrayed. I've watched this one several times and have the soundtrack. Excellent musical!!
This was an absolutely lovely film adaptation of Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey. Granted I've never read the book, but that is not needed in order to enjoy these wonderful characters. What really makes this movie great are the two lead actors. They're very good and have great chemistry. Most of the secondary characters do not shine as much, but the actress playing Catherine aunt's is absolutely hilarious. I've watched this a couple of times now and cannot get enough of it.
