my favorite kevin smith film. satire on religion, specifically the catholic religion. i laughed my butt off...."only a catholic [bishop] would bless his [golf] clubs to play a better game."
I'm a sucker for "aliens as the good guys" movies. lol. Plus...it really is absolutely beautiful. It's filmed so it looks 3D even on a regular t.v. Ah....I'm caught again by "oooooo, shiny!!"
Pure action. I couldn't take my eyes off it. It's got car chases that rival the Bourne or Transporter movies, bullets colliding in midair in slow motion, and superhuman Neo-like fighting. There's a fair amount of blood, and lots of violence, but the gore isn't too bad. Overall, the plot had no surprises, but I adore Angelina Jolie, and I've been a fan of James McAvoy since I saw "Rory O'Shea Was Here"...so I might have a biased opinion. ;)
robert downey jr. is PERFECT for the role of stark. he's sarcastic, funny and moving all at once. this is such a good movie....action, romance, amazing special effects...you really root for stark.
I spent this movie either laughing, or crying. True, it's very much a sappy sweet "chick flick", but I still think it's very good. On par with "the Notebook." It doesn't help that Gerard Butler's accent makes me swoon. ;)
i love this movie. i've known tweekers (meth users, and for that matter, coke/crack users), and this isn't too over-the-top in it's portrayal. val kilmer is perfect as the main character, and it's one of vincent d'nofrio's best/most unique roles outside of "law and order."
a non-stop ride into the hell that is hard-core drugs. great cinematography. clutches my stomach and heart and twists. i was hooked on prescription uppers for about 4 months years ago, so this movie hit me especially hard. this movie slapped me upside the head and made me realize how badly my life and my health were falling apart.
It's pretty as all heck...definitely an improvement on the original as far as special effects go. It's non-stop action eye-candy. Lots of car stunts and explosions. My main issue with it is that I kept thinking hmmmmm....Frank, kicking butt, and driving a wicked cool car...connection to "the Transporter?" ;)
wow. what a ride. gritty, shocking, beautifully artistic. If you're thinking about doing heroin, ever, watch this movie...you'll never want to touch it!!!!
It's so very good. It played my emotions like a talented musician strokes the guitar strings. Less poetically, my attention span is that of a four year old, and I sat and watched Slumdog all the way through. You must watch this movie.
I think this one is even better than the first. Ron Perlman is perfect as Hellboy. del Toro's vision is beautiful! It really adds something to the Hellboy world that was missing in the first movie.
once i gave this movie a chance, i really loved it. the humor is dry, witty, and fast. although it deals with a controversial subject, the humor doesn't seem to downplay reality.
This movie is good. Really good. I think Ledger took the show...just completely stole it from Bale. Ledger played a very convincing, very scary psycho. I'm not just saying that because it was his last performance before he died. I was surprised at Aaron Eckhart's performance, as well. I've seen him in so many funny roles, it's odd to see him play a more serious character. I like Maggie Gyllenhaal, but I'm not so sure she's quite right in this. Overall, it's never boring. Strong story. Leaves you wondering what they'll do next, without feeling cheated.
i've never seen johnny depp look more demonic. he and helena do such a supurb job! sacha baron cohen sings, too! i never would have guessed any of them had the talent. i was surprised...i actually loved the music...especially depp's "my friends". it's definitely a classic "gothy," beautiful, dark tim burton film. all the elements...cast, music, set, costumes (and i love helena's dresses)...come together perfectly to make for a really unique musical, and i don't like a lot of musicals. definitely check it out! not for kids though, as it is morbid, a bit violent and bloody.
Great characters, fantastic acting, intriguing plot, very moving yet a few laughs thrown in. Much better than expected, and no matter what kind of movies you like, I definitely recommend checking "Hugo" out!
Non-stop action. There seem to be a few discrepancies between the comics and the movies...but there always are. No big deal to me. Hugh Jackman is perfect, PERFECT as wolverine. Strangely honorable, tortured, often angry and smokin' hot. ;) I also approved of Taylor Kitsch as Reme....I didn't think I would. Ryan Reynolds pumped a LOT of iron for this movie....wow! Excusing the cat-like leaping he did, Liev Schreiber enthralled. Danny Huston was also excellent. Good movie!
