The Painted Veil 2006, PG-13)
Despite the fact that it's set in China 1920s, I relate a lot to the characters more than I've ever had with any movies. The emotional journey between Kitty and Walter seems terribly realistic. Norton and Watts deliver their lines perfectly. The stunning cinematography is just a cherry on top. |

Spike Lee's most underrated movie hands down. Everyone seems to be extremely intrigued by the "Fuck you NYC" monologue, while overlooking other strong elements such as Monty's friendship with Frank, played brilliantly by Pepper. The soundtracks are haunting and beautiful throughout the movie, mad props to Terence Blanchard. |
