Four Brothers
Four Brothers - They came home to bury their mom ... and her killer
..........
'That wasn't no gang shooting. That was an execution. They set Mom up. They set her up.'
..........
Four adopted brother return home to bury the woman who raised them. They learn that she was gunned down during a grocery store and they brothers reunite to seek revenge and take matters in to their own hands. Defiying police orders, the four begin turning their old neighborhood upside down looking for the mastermind behind the killing. Along the way they discover they are bound by ties thicker than blood in this powerful acton pack movie.
..........
'Miss Evelyn cycled hundreds of kids out of the foster program and into permanent homes. In 30 years she only came across four lost causes. Four delinquents so far gone she couldn't find anyone to take them in. So she did.'
..........
Mark Wahlberg, Garrett Hedlund, Andre Benjamin and Tyrese Gibson are flawless playing the adopted Mercer boys in this movie, they play off each other like they're real brothers; it's amazing to watch. The chemistry between the actors was great.
..........
I really love the relationship between Mark Walhberg and Garrett Hedlund as Bobby and Jack. The emotions between the brothers led to many very funny comic moments.
..........
Bobby: Jack, it was a questionable kill.
Jack: What makes you think that?
Bobby: Boy, it's sad, you growing up without a father. Nobody taught you anything, did they? Maybe I should've stayed around longer and held your little hand, huh sweetheart?
..........

..........
It has lots of Action, Drama and Thriller all together, makes a delicious movie to watch. The music for the movie was great and makes it that much better. The movie contains some excellent scenes, including an amazing car chase in the snow. It went through a range of so many different emotions and events in the lives of the four troubled men..
..........
I would most definitely, highly recommend this movie to anyone and everyone.
..........
'I wanna make a toast to Evelyn Mercer, the greatest mother four degenerate bastards ever had.'

Death Sentence 2007,  R)
Death Sentence
Death Sentence - Protect What's Yours..
..........
Well, you don't really know what you'd do until it happens. Surprise yourself.
..........
The family man and senior vice-president of the insurance company Starship Capital Nick Hume lives a comfortable life with his wife Helen and his sons Brendan and Lucas. While driving back home with his son Brendan after a game of hockey, Nick stops his car in a gas station in a dangerous neighborhood and he witnesses his son being murdered by the punk Joe Darley in the convenience store. When the prosecutor tells the grieving Nick that Joe would get a maximum of three years in prison, Nick tells the judge in court that he has not recognized Joe as the killer of his son. In the night, Nick goes to Joe's place and stabs him to death. When Joe's brother Billy is informed about the death of Joe, he summons his gang in a war against Nick with tragic consequences.
...........
Kevin Bacon is a brilliant actor, who has torn my heart out by the roots more than once in some of his film roles, such as Murder One. He does it again in Death Sentence. He brings out the character's pain, fear and anger. Garrett Hedlund gave a great performance as Billy Darley he makes me think, should hate him or feel sorry for him. One side a badass gang leader, and from other side a caring and protective brother. John Goodman was just perfect. The rest of cast were great.
..........
Nicholas "Nick" Hume: No. You listen to me. You go near my family, and I will cut out your goddamn guts like I did your fucking friend. Do you hear me?
Billy Darly: He wasn't my friend. He was my brother. And now I'm coming for the rest of your family. You just bought them a death sentence, motherfucker.
..........
The action scenes are on the ball. The chase scene through alleyways and parking garages were intense, with perfect camera movement. Much of the action has a method to it that allows you to see effectively and clearly what's going. You are never lost as to who went where. Even the winding, twisting pathways of a broken down building will never confuse you as to where the good guy and bad guys are. Director Wan and team had an eye for this kind of stuff, with the audience in mind.
..........
I like Death Sentence because the great cast, great plot, acceptably fast-paced continuous and some great action scene like the cat and mouse situation which ended at the multi-stories parking lot and the shooting in Billy's "Office". I recommend.

Léon (The Professional) 1994,  R)
Léon (The Professional)
Leon - If you want a job done well hire a professional

****************************************************
'Somebody's coming up. Somebody serious'
*****************************************************

Mathilda, a twelve-year old New York girl, is living an undesirable life among her half-family. Her father stores drugs for two-faced cop Norman Stansfield. Only her little brother keeps Mathilda from breaking apart. One day, Stansfield and his team take cruel revenge on her father for stretching the drugs a little, thus killing the whole family. Only Mathilda, who was out shopping, survives by finding shelter in Léon's apartment in the moment of highest need. Soon, she finds out about the strange neighbour's unusual profession - killing - and desperately seeks his help in taking revenge for her little brother. Léon, who is completely unexperienced in fatherly tasks, and in friendships, does his best to keep Mathilda out of trouble - unsuccessfully. Now, the conflict between a killer, who slowly discovers his abilities to live, to feel, to love and a corrupt police officer, who does anything in his might to get rid of an eye witness, arises to unmeasurable proportions - all for the sake of a little twelve-year old girl, who has nearly nothing to lose..

This film was absolutely amazing. Every time I watch Leon is as gripping and enjoyable as the first. The relationship between the characters Leon and Mathilda is enchanting..

***************************************************************
'Revenge is not good. Once you're done. Believe me.'
****************************************************************

Natalie Portman as Mathilda is nothing short of brilliant.. she really brings raw emotion and believability to a difficult role... Jean Reno as leon plays his role beautifully as the complex, senitive hitman... Gary Oldman is amusing and utterly menacing as the villian, Agent Stansfield...

Girl, Interrupted 1999,  R)
Girl, Interrupted
Girl, Interrupted - Based on a true story.

********************************************************************************************
'Have you ever confused a dream with life? Or stolen something when you have the cash? Have you ever been blue? Or thought your train moving while sitting still? Maybe I was just crazy. Maybe it was the 60's. Or maybe I was just a girl... interrupted.'
********************************************************************************************

An excellent plot based on the true story of Susanna Kaysen's autobiography on her stay in a mental institution... Susanna is depressed and directionless after finishing high school in the late 1960's. A suicide attempt lands her in Claymore, a mental institution. She befriends the band of troubled women in her ward (Georgina the pathological liar, the sexually abused Daisy, the burn victim Polly) but falls under the hypnotic sway of Lisa, the wildest and most hardened of the bunch. Will Susanna "drop anchor" at Claymore and perpetually act out like Lisa, or will she finally pull her mind together and leave institutional life behind?..

******************************************************************************************
'You know, taking us for ice creams in a blizzard... makes you wonder who the real whack jobs are.'
******************************************************************************************

There are some great scene in the movie but the two that gets me is the scenes were when they go to Daisy's house and Lisa confronts her about her father then the next day Susanna is walking up the stairs to find Daisy is dead, and the scene were Susanna and Valerie have a talk, its just incredible and it really touches your heart its just amazing...

Fantanic peformance from both Wionna Ryder and Angelina Joile.... Jolie completely immerses herself in the role, and gives a moving, intriguing and haunting performance as Susanna's best friend at the hospital. Although Ryder does an excellent job portraying the earnestness and confusion of her character, Jolie is the true star of this movie...

I also admire the smaller roles in it such as Brittney Murphy who was amazing, Clea Duvall and Whoppi Goldberg... the cast is enchanting...
James Mangold has done a beautiful job directing this movie.. i would recommend anyone to see this movie even if you haven't read the book, the movie has a great impact on the life of Susanna..

Gone in 60 Seconds (Gone in Sixty Seconds) 2000,  PG-13)
Gone in 60 Seconds (Gone in Sixty Seconds)
A great cast including Robert Duvall, Angelina Jolie, Giovanni Ribisi, Scott Caan, Will Patton, Chi McBride, T.J. Cross and others. The car stealings and chases are top of the line and I enjoyed that probably the most. Nicholas Cage does a great job of taking control of the movie as he does with most of his films. The only downside to the movie is they should have had someone else to play Raymond Vincent Calitri, Christopher Eccleston is a good actor but he didnt convice me as the bad type. I must say I fell in love with the 1967 Shelby Mustang GT 500 AKA Eleanor after watching this.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 2007,  PG-13)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix - Evil Must Be Confronted

*********************************************************************
'You're a fool, Harry Potter, and you will lose everything.'
*********************************************************************

After returning to Hogwarts to begin his fifth year at Hogwarts, Harry Potter discovers that much of the wizarding world, including the Ministry of Magic, is in denial about Lord Voldemort's return. The Order of the Phoenix, a group sworn against Voldemort, is using its vast array of wizards and witches magical abilities to combat Voldemort. Cornelius Fudge, Minister for Magic, suspects that Dumbledore is using these claims of The Dark Lord's return as a means to over-throw Fudge as Minister. In retaliation, a new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher is appointed by the Ministry in order to keep an eye on Hogwarts. This new teacher, Professor Umbridge, implies strict new teachings and rules, forcing a group of students, under the tutelage of Harry, to form a club, by the name of Dumbledore's Army...

****************************************************************************************
i thought the casting for the characters of luna, tonks and Umbridge were done very well... the acting was amazing in this movie...

********************************************************************************************
I was so happy to hear that helena would be taking over helen to play the role of bellatrix lestrange.. she is amazing doing her even tho she only had a couple of lines, she pulled it off great..

*********************************************************************************************

Daniel, gives his best performance as Harry by adding further depth, anger, and vulnerability to the character.. he really is the perfect Potter..
Rupert and Emma are once again delightful and thier performaces are getting better and better and the rest of the cast are fab..

I loved the end fight between dumbledore and voldmort(amazing).. leaving a hole for the nxt hp movie..david yates did a great job.. I would certainly recommend the movie for everyone, fan or not, as it really was a well made movie

**************************************************************************************
He really is out there, isn't he? We've got to be able to defend ourselves. And if Umbridge refuses to teach us how, we need someone who will.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street 2007,  R)
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Sweeney Todd - Never Forget Never Forgive..

**************************************************
'May the Lord have mercy on your soul. '
***************************************************

Base on the hit boardway musical from the wonderful Stephen Sondheim, taking to the big screen by the awesome Tim burton, comes a tale of Benjamin Barker/Sweeney Todd living a simply life as a barber with a wife Lucy and his daughter Johanna, when the lust of an evil judge throws all of their lives into chaos. Jugde Tupin has Benjamin Barker deported to Australia never to return again. Benjamin now under the Pseudonym of Sweeney Todd returns to england many years later with the help of young sailor Anthony Hope, hoping to be reunited with his wife and daughter and punish Judge Turpin and the society who destoryed his life with the help of Mrs. Lovett who had known Sweeney as Benjamin and his family all those years ago. Sweeney opens his old barber shop above Mrs.Lovett's Pie Shop were she sell"the worst pies in the London"to rid all the people who ever done him wrong..he disposes the body in Mrs.Lovett's pies in order to be reunited with his daughter Johanna, who is now in Judge Turpin's ward..

*********************************************************************************************
Sweeney Todd is one of the best musical i have seen and one hell of a great movie. This movie is all I could ever hope it would be, violent, thrilling, musical and comedic..seeing the other plays (Sweeney Todd (2006) and (Sweeney Todd in Concert 2001) and being a fan of the original Broadway stage versions i had no complaints..

*********************************************************************************************

I get Three for the price of one great movie.. (Tim, Johnny and Helena..) plus the wonderful Alan Rickman this movie also has some great acting and singing from some newbees..
Johnny Depp performance was outstanding, sensational and is the perfect match for portraying the scheming, vengeance-obesessed barber Sweeney Todd..
Helena Bonham Carter is extraordinary.. she brings humor and a kind of pathos to her wonderfully wacky mrs.Lovett, she was absolutely perfect for this role (just as Depp was for Todd) and perfectly captures the love that Lovett has for Sweeney..
Alan Rickman was a slendid choice and is so deliciously evil without being over the top..remarkable, fabulously villainous mode and with Timothy Spall (who it just talented) made a great pair of evil doers..

********************************************************************************************

The Younger cast were good, Bower,Wisener, and Sanders are all very young and innocent, with angelic voices, and Sanders is a scene-stealer.. His song 'not while am around' may be one of the most poignant yet.. and the dramatic of his character feel exactly right up to the bitter end. Jamie and Jayne, respectively are refreshing winsome in thier roles.. they all show a bright career in the future...

********************************************************************************************
Cinematography is beautiful which set the dark and grim atmosphere of the tale of vengeance..The set-decoration, costumes, and make up were absolutely exquisite..a fresh tale of murder, vengeance, and implications of cannibalism.
the music was downright fantastic..although the cast are not known for thier singing abilities..they have done an excellent job at it..although some people like me may regret the loss of some clever Sondheim songs..
You see why Tim Burton is my favourite diector.. Tim has diected yet other "MASTERPIECE"...he's been a fan of Sondheim boardway musical, he's waited to direct his own and he has done an incredible job and pulled it of perfetly..and now officially the master of dark and delightful...no matter how dark he is... Bravo Tim, Bravo!...

Practical Magic 1998,  PG-13)
Practical Magic
I love movies about witches and magic, this movie was just enchanting. Great story with a great cast. Sandra Bullock was great and pulls off the shy, intellectual, dependable Sally..Nicole Kidman, is brilliant very wild-child, but not so trampy that you hate her and probably the most interesting character..Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest were a great choice for 'The Anuts' and wore their characters and their hair extensions very well.. Overall this movie was amazing and one for all the family to see

Thirteen 2002,  R)
Thirteen
Thirteen - It's happening so fast..

At the edge of adolescence, Tracy is a smart straight-A student--if not a little naive (it seems...she smokes and she cuts to alleviate the emotional pain she suffers from having a broken home and hating her mom's boyfriend, Brady.) When she befriends Evie, the most popular and beautiful girl in school, Evie leads Tracy down a path of sex, drugs and petty crime (like stealing money from purses and from stores). As Tracy transforms herself and her identity, her world becomes a boiling, emotional cauldron fueled by new tensions between her and her mother--as well as, teachers and old friends..

Thirteen is a movie that just grasps you. It is very realistic, powerful, moving and that many people can relate to..

Holly Hunter was outstanding with her role as Mel.. Evan Rachel Wood did a perfect job of conveying the slow inner-destruction of Tracy.. Nikki Reed (who co-wrote this movie) was great as the manipulative attitude of Evie..

The three female leads carry the weight of this movie on their shoulders, but are helped by the supporting characters; Brady Corbet as Tracy's older brother, Jeremy Sisto as Mel's addict boyfriend, and Deborah Kara Unger as Evie's aunt..

Catherine Hardwicke did an amazing job at putting this movie together and gets great performances out of everyone on screen..

The final scene in the movie with Wood and Hunter is one of the most powerful scenes I've ever seen. I definitely recommend this movie to anyone..

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone 2001,  PG)
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone -Let The Magic Begin

plot: On his 11th birthday, young Harry Potter discovers the life he never knew he had, the life of a wizard. In his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he meets his two best friends R...( read more )on Weasley, an expert at Wizard Chess, and Hermione Granger, a girl with non-magic parents. Harry learns the game of Quiditch and Wizard Chess on his way to facing a Dark Arts teacher who is bent on destroying him..

The film strikes a very magical tone and is very faithful to the novel. The characters are perfectly cast and the film captures the perfect essence and mood of the book....

Columbus brought to life the magical world of Hogwarts and the Harry Potter universe in a beautiful way. This film should satisfy Potter fans, and it lives up to expectations..

I found it a highly entertaining and quite inspired adaptation of the book..
12
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 2002,  PG)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secert - "Dobby Has Come To Warn You Sir."

plot: Harry Potter is in his second year of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He is visited by a house-elf named Dobby and warned not to go back to Hogwarts. Harry ignores his warning, and returns. He is still famous, although still disliked by Snape, Malfoy, and the rest of the Slytherins. But then, strange things start to happen. People are becoming petrified, and no-one knows what is doing it. Harry keeps hearing a voice.. a voice which seems to be coming from within the walls. They are told the story of the Chamber of Secrets. It is said that only Salazar Slytherin's true descendent will be able to open it. Harry, it turns out, is a Parsel-tongue. This means that he is able to speak/understand snakes. Everyone thinks that it's him that has opened the Chamber of Secrets because that is what Slytherin was famous for....

There is so much action in this movie. There's a flying car, more Quidditch matches, a nest of huge spiders, a dueling club, and plenty of spells. Far more spells than the first movie.. Also featured is a new dark arts defense teacher, and more clues about the mysterious past of lord Voldemort...

this movie was perfect.. of course, it goes without saying that you should read the books first, as they are delightful.. but both movies so far have done them justice...
13
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 2004,  PG)
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban - Something wicked this way comes..

plot: Harry Potter is having a tough time with his relatives (yet again). He runs away after using magic to blow Uncle Vernon's sister Marge who was being offensive towards Harry's parents. Initially scared for using magic outside the school, he is pleasantly surprised that he won't be penalized after all. However, he soon learns that a dangerous criminal and Voldemort's trusted aide Sirius Black has escaped from the Azkaban prison and wants to kill Harry to avenge the Dark Lord. To worsen the conditions for Harry, vile shape-shifters called Dementors are appointed to guard the school gates and inexplicably happen to have the most horrible effect on him. Little does Harry know that by the end of this year, many holes in his past (whatever he knows of it) will be filled up and he will have a clearer vision of what the future has in store..

The acting is also vastly improved in the movie. Radcliffe and the other child actors have fully grown into their roles and shown themselves as great choices to play these characters. The addition of Gary Oldman as Sirius Black in this movie is also a plus, and he shows that he is just as good at playing sympathetic characters as he is at being evil. David Thewlis is good as Remus Lupin and fits his haggard appearance well. Michael Gambon has taken on the role as Dumbledore...he's done great job..

At its heart is a good story and in his role of translating it to cinema Cuaron has, particularly visually, done an excellent job.. On the whole it is a graceful and emotive film and I would think it hard not to appreciate and enjoy.. I for one think it pretty fabulous...
14
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 2005,  PG-13)
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire - "Difficult times lie ahead, Harry."

plot: Harry's fourth year at Hogwarts is about to start and he is enjoying the summer vacation with his friends. They get the tickets to The Quidditch World Cup Final but after the match is over, people dressed like Lord Voldemort's 'Death Eaters' set a fire to all the visitors' tents, coupled with the appearance of Voldemort's symbol, the 'Dark Mark' in the sky, which causes a frenzy across the magical community. That same year, Hogwarts is hosting 'The Triwizard Tournament', a magical tournament between three well-known schools of magic : Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. The contestants have to be above the age of 17, and are chosen by a magical object called Goblet of Fire. On the night of selection, however, the Goblet spews out four names instead of the usual three, with Harry unwittingly being selected as the Fourth Champion. Since the magic cannot be reversed, Harry is forced to go with it and brave three exceedingly difficult tasks...all before coming face-to-face with a particular dark wizard..

Daniel, Emma and Rupert
are getting better and better at portraying their parts.. Brendan Gleeson as Mad-Eye Moody is amazing as is Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort 'He Who Must Not Be Named'..

The special effects and the music in the this movie were the best yet! The underwater scenes especially were very well done..

It's an entertaining time, and leaves a lot to be desired..

Bram Stoker's Dracula 1992,  R)
Bram Stoker's Dracula
Gary Oldman's dark and sensual personae outshines any other vampire who ever dare put on a cape. Winona Ryder's delicateness suited the role of Mina/Elisabeta nicely and Keanu Reeves played the unsuspecting and naive Jonathan with satisfaction. One of Coppola's Best works. The musical score by Wojciech Kilar is really on of the best and most fitting scores in movie history. I love it! The visual style, cinematography, make-up, clothing, acting, music, everything is nearly perfect in this movie!
16
Con Air 1997,  R)
Con Air
Nicholas Cage is amazing as always and is amazing here, he is extremely likable, a major bad ass, proves he can play a top notch action hero, and had a character we can root and care for, his accent not that great but still good. John Cusack is very impressive as U.S. Marshal Vince Larkin. John Malkovich is spectacular as the cold-blooded Cyrus `The Virus' Grissom, and he very effectively takes on the leadership position of the remaining criminals on board the plane. Steve Buscemi is awesome he plays a small role is as Garland Greene, who is wheeled onto the plane tied down in true Hannibal Lecter form, and who is one of the quieter and less disruptive criminals on the plane. Also great performances from Ving Rhames, Rachel Ticotin, Dave Chappelle, M.C Gainey and the rest of the cast. I commend director Simon West, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer on how well they put together the action sequences and bringing together the tremendous cast without any clash of egos. Con Air takes you on a two-hour adventure , powerful action sequences and great direction. This has a dynamic and fantastic in the last half, with an incredible ending climax. An action packed film from start to finish with a great story to accompany it. as well as comedic moments at times with great one-liners by various actors. I urge everyone (Maybe not younger children, due to Strong language and Violence) to see Con Air for a great action film with substance.

Ginger Snaps 2000,  R)
Ginger Snaps
Is becoming a woman analogous, in some deep psychological way, to becoming a werewolf? Ginger is 16, edgy, tough, and, with her younger sister, into staging and photographing scenes of death. They've made a pact about dying together. In early October, on the night she has her first period, which is also the night of a full moon, a werewolf bites Ginger. Within a few days, some serious changes happen to her body and her temperament. Her sister Brigitte, 15, tries to find a cure with the help of Sam, a local doper. As Brigitte races against the clock, Halloween and another full moon approach, Ginger gets scarier, and it isn't just local dogs that begin to die.
..........
I have to say this has to be my favourite werewolf movie. From the story, cinematography, special effects to the music, this movie is well done for a low budget movie. Ginger Snaps adds a couple of twists to the werewolf genre. There's an underlying theme that differentiates Ginger Snaps from other werewolf films: lycanthropy becomes a metaphor for puberty and teenage. The Performace's from Emily Perkins and Katharine Isabelle playing the Fitzgerald sister's is outstandings. They play off each other very well..
.........
Ginger: [about becoming a werewolf, drunk on blood] You love it. Should come for the ride. A little scratch. Swap some juice. We'll be our own pack, like before. It's so 'us' B.

Ginger Snaps 2 - Unleashed 2004,  R)
Ginger Snaps 2 - Unleashed
Brigitte's on the run from Bailey Downs, and she tries to prevent what happened to her sister, Ginger, from happening to her by shooting up with monkshood. Eventually she collapses and the police that find assume the monkshood is an illegal drug, and she is sent to rehab. She is deprived of the only thing that will stop her from turning into a beast and killing everyone and everything in her way. She meets a girl who is quiet and not well-liked, and much like herself, by the name of Ghost that helps her deal with her new problem and to escape the werewolf curse.
..........
Really enjoyed this too. I was amazed with Emily Perkin performance in this. She was mostly in the shadow of Kathrine perfromance in the first one but she carrys herself amazingly on her own. She's the hero who is being taken over by this horrible werewolf virus and the special effects are outstanding in that effect. She looks absolutely deathly in each stage of her transformation. Tatiana Maslany did an incredible performance. The setting of the film from the city, to the asylum to the small empty cottage is brilliant. It's dark, gritty, horrifying and takes a transformation not unlike Brigitte's changes. Recommend - If you have seen the first one an would like to know what happens the Brigitte.
..........
Ginger: You know, the faster you heal the closer he gets B. Or is it that the closer he is the faster you heal?

Lara Croft - Tomb Raider 2001,  PG-13)
Lara Croft - Tomb Raider
Angelina Jolie is perfect for Lara Croft and looks so much like her from the game. I found her performance here to be pure fun and truly a joy to watch. She equally and essentially balances the two sides, conflicted British girl with the loss of her father, and `Tomb Raider' needing to save the world.
20
Lara Croft Tomb Raider - The Cradle of Life 2003,  PG-13)
Lara Croft Tomb Raider - The Cradle of Life
The action scenes are really cool and are done well. Jolie is excellent as Lara Croft, and there probably isn't an actress around who would be better cast in the role. Jolie has the physicality, the look, the voice, and the attitude to pull off the role effortlessly. Gerard Butler had a great performance in this as did the rest of the cast. It's a little bit better than the first and I love the Tomb Raider series. I play the games and I think that they capture the true essence of Lara Croft on screen..

Twilight - When you can live forever what do you live for?..

******************************************************************************************
I'd never given much thought to how I would die... But dying in the place of someone I love seems like a good way to go.
******************************************************************************************

Bella Swan has always been a little bit different, Never one to run with the crowd. When her mother remarries, Bella chooses to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, she didn't expect much of anything to change. But things do change when she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen. For Edward is nothing like any boy she's ever met. He's nothing like anyone she's ever met, period. He's intelligent and witty, and he seems to see straight into her soul. In no time at all, they are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance - unorthodox because Edward really isn't like the other boys. He can run faster than a mountain lion. He can stop a moving car with his bare hands. Oh, and he hasn't aged since 1918. Like all vampires, he's immortal. That's right vampire. But he doesn't have fangs that's just in the movies. And he doesn't drink human blood, though Edward and his family are unique among vampires in that lifestyle choice. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for - a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. Somehow or other, they will have to manage their unmanageable love. But when unexpected visitors come to town and realize that there is a human among them Edward must fight to save Bella?..

********************************************************************************************

I am a fan of the books and with all movies they leave lots of things out. But I have to say I enjoyed this movie. You don't have to read the books to get the story..

*********************************************************************************************

Robert Pattison was a great choice for the role of Edward Cullen, he's absolutely captivating ..
Kristen Stewart was an ok choice for the role of Bella Swan, although I picture someone like Alexis Bledel playing, which would have been a great. I did have some problems the way Kristen hardly change expressions and a bit dull sometimes. Her chemistry with Robert was also ok.. abit laughable at times..

*********************************************************************************************

Perfect pick for the rest of the cast, Ashley Greene did a great job on my favorite character Alice, I can't picture anyone else good to play her.. Jackson Rathbone did a good job as Jasper Hale, he fit his character great, I wish he had more lines though and would not be stuck as a visual comedic relief for audiences.. Peter Facinelli who played Carlisle Cullen, Edward's father, was exactly how I pictured.. Kellan Lutz Nikki Reed and Elizabeth Reaser were good choice for Emmett Cullen, Roseila Hale and Esme Cullen. And Taylor Lautner was perfect for Jacob Black..

*********************************************************************************************

The interactions I really liked were between the Cullens. You both get a sense of family dynamic and the separate relationships in the family..

*********************************************************************************************

My favourite bit of the whole movie was the Baseball scene. Great soundtrack, the visual effects were great. The scenery of the Pacific Northwest was amazing and the camera angles were great. I thought they ended the movie well, having the audience craving more..

*********************************************************************************************

I know lots of people have been disappointed because it didnt live up to the books, but what movie does! .. If you want to go and watch twilight don't go in there expecting anything (book fans), just sit back and enjoy it for what it is.. The movie 'yes' was rushed, slow at the start quick at the end but i liked it..

*********************************************************************************************

I'm looking forward to the future installments..

*********************************************************************************************
New Moon film adaptation of a book that captures everything you want and need. Alongside staying as true as possible to the book, there are also some teasing additionals that took me by surprise, but added to my amazement.
*********************************************************************************************
Every second that I'm with you is about restraint... and you're too fragile.
*********************************************************************************************
Robert Pattinson amazing again as the beauitful Edward Cullen. Even though he hasn't got a big part in this movie, he was wonderful. He was believable during his scenes with Bella, representing every ounce of torture and emotion within his eyes and truly capturing the scene.. Kristen Stewart as we all know, was emotionless in Twilight, but she has really has improved drastically, to my surpised. She really took it up a notch with the emotional scenes and gives a fragile and sincere performance. The downside to her acting was with her interaction was the Cullen family at her birthday party and the vote at the end, she just looked and acted awkward. Also she eye fluttered to much.. Taylor was really great as Jacob, he brings Jacob Black to life. I felt bad for his character, Bella led him on more in the movie than in the book, by laying on him too much or letting him hold her or almost kissing him, etc. I know Bella allowed some things in the book, such as the hand-holding, after she protested against it and after he assured her it was only as friends. In the movie, it seemed that line was blurred too much and that Bella was too eager for physical contact with him, as opposed to the emotional contact that the book-Bella craved.
***************************************************************************************
Rob and Kristen chemistry wasn't as good in this one as it was in Twilight. I also think Catherine had a better feel for the romance when it came to the actual kissing scenes. However, the first part of the movie, the interaction between Bella and Edward was nice. Rob in the parking lot at the school (minus the slo-mo walk) was sexy and charismatic.. Taylor and Kristen's chemistry was great. I was Team Edward member but because of Taylor's portray of Jacob's chacater I'm now Team Switzerland, I can't decided on them now.
********************************************************************************************
Ashley Greene, what can I say, she is simply outstanding. Loved that she has more scenes and lines to have in this movie and you get to see a little bit of the friendship her and Bella share. Alice's entrance (Bella's House) makes you jump. Also, her first entrance into the movie will stun you, with her enthusiasm and flexibility.. Jackson Rathbone was awesome. He brings more layers to his character, and has more dialogue. His scene were he attacks Bella was brillent.. I wish they would show more of Emmett, since he's one of my favorite characters, but what they did show of him was truly classic Emmett. His first quote in the movie is, "Dating an older woman?...hot." Classic Emmett. At least he got to give Bella one of his bear-hugs.. Kellan Lutz is perfect for Emmett.. The rest of the Cullen were great too..
********************************************************************************************
"We only kill what we are trying to protect you from, vampires.
********************************************************************************************
Chaske Spencer, who plays Sam in the movie, played it very well. He took the leadership role needed to play this part. He also showed a lot of depth to his character.. Alex Meraz as Paul was incredible. When he gets angry and turns into a wolf after finding out about Bella knowing, even the people who have read the books are terrified. It was amazing.. Tyson Houseman and Kiowa Gordon as Quil and Embry were just as I wanted them to be, entertaining, funny, and really cool guys..
*********************************************************************************************
"The Volturi are the closest thing my world has to royalty..they enforce the law.
*********************************************************************************************
Michael Sheen delivers the Aro that is straight from the book.I enjoyed every minute he spent on screen. He was exactly how I pictured him to be. He was vicious, yet cunning and clever, and the role was played well Dakota Fanning was spectacular as Jane-she pulled off the evil character of Jane with an angelic face perfectly.. Charlie Bewley's acting-his entrance, composure and first lines were so well done, it made you feel Demetri should be a much more important character in this series.. Christopher Heyerdahl, Jamie Campbell Bower, Carmeron Bright and Daniel Cudmore as Marcus, Caius, Alec and Felix were great..
*********************************************************************************************
Billy Burke as Charlie, as always, made the movie even more perfect and even the little bits ofGraham Greene as Harry Clearwater we saw was brilliant. Anna Kendrick as Jessica was great, her scene with her ranting about the zombie movie was funny.. Rest of cast were just great too..
*********************************************************************************************
"If a rush of danger is what it takes to see him then that's what I'll find."
*********************************************************************************************
I loved how they used "Dear Alice" e-mails to explain Bella's feelings as she went from zombie to almost happy with Jacob. It was a great way to show how she was changing emotionally.. The fight scene between Edward and the Volturi was visually stunning and despite not being in the book, scene makes the film more exciting and to show how powerful and fearful the Volturi are.. Victoria and Lautent's sequences were excellent and almost breathtaking.. Sam's cliff dive was the work of excellent cinematography.. I was impressed by the CGI and how they animated the wolf phasing. I am glad that it was accurate to the book in that it is a true phase rather than a morphing process which can be depicted as creepy and unpleasant. One of the funniest scenes in the movie is the infamous movie date with Jake and Mike. Mike's face in the scene as he gets sick as truly classic..
*********************************************************************************************
Chris Weitz's direction for this movie was beauitfully done. Cinematography was beauitful..The film is filled with a lush atmosphere and eye catching explosions of color and surrealistic depth. The underwater sequence in particular is award worthy.. Stunning visuals, music, special effects and, more notably, acting.. The contacts, both red and gold, were a little overdone in New Moon, I perfered the ones in Twilight.. Finally, in Taylor's own words, "New Moon is exciting. It's always pushing to the next level." I enjoyed every single moment, I am counting down until it is released on dvd and the premiere of Eclipse, it was truly fabulous.

Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob -- knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.
********************************************************************************
"You don't know what you're getting yourself into."
********************************************************************************
Well as all the book go, Eclipse is my favourite one of the Saga. So I was really worried what would happen when they were going to make this in to a movie. But I love being surpised, I could not be more happier.. While Twilight was devoted to Bella & Edward, then New Moon was all about Bella & Jacob, this movie explores the bizarre love triangle that is Edward/Bella/Jacob. Having only shared a few scenes together in the previous films, Edward and Jacob get to share a good amount of screen time together in this one, much of which is spent up in each other's faces. Which I think is funny. Edward's response of "doesn't he own a t-shirt" when a topless Jacob is waiting for them is priceless.
********************************************************************************
"I know the consequences of the choices you're making. After a few decades, everyone you know will be dead."
**********************************************************************************
Kristen Stewart was again just ok for me as Bella. (Which I don't understand, she good in her other movies) The constant eye blinking, stuttering and hard breathing was bothering me. She pulls through with smiles. Makes a change doesn't it? The kissing scene between characters Bella and Edward are much much better - no more moaning and groaning for these two chararcters.. Her scene when she's with Jacob and he kisses her and then she punches him in the face was hilarious. Again not much interaction with the Cullen's - tho Bella and Emmett's character have a moment in the scene were Carlisle is wrapping up Bella's hand. What was up with that wig? You would think they'd make a better one for her.. Robert Pattinson performance, one word WOW. Amazing as Edward Cullen, his facial expressions to his body movements compliment the character from the book very well.. I loved how he Taylor Lautner (who spends most of the time shirtless) as Jacob was much better in this then the other two films. He really gets into his character.. I loved his first scene, the music that is playing fits in well when he turns around with a brooding look.. his lines are less chessy.. The end scene between Jacob and Bella was heartbreaking.. Taylor really connects with his character here and gives a wonderful performance..
********************************************************************************
"Never go for the obvious kill. They'll be expecting that. And you, will lose.". "One more thing. Never turn your back on your enemy."
********************************************************************************
Jackson Rathbone playing my now favourite character (sorry Alice, you were my first and Jazz was my second but sometimes desisons are changed) was wonderful as Jasper. His back story was amazing, which am glad they didn't leave out as its an important part.. Maria and the girls were great, but where was Peter and Charotte? And why couldn't we see Jasper meeting up with Alice, instead of him just saying it? (they really should have explained what his gifts where in the first film). The fight training was well done, and was exactly how I imagined Jasper to be. He even threw in some humour here and there, and he truly did bring life to Jasper.. oh and that southern accent *faints*... Rosalie?s back story was perfectly played out. I found myself miserable and utterly sad for Rosalie. Nikki Reed really did do a great job with that scene. And the red-eyed, crazy, in a wedding dress, Rosalie who seeks revenge was perfect... Ashley Greene is so awesome as Alice to not get her individual moment. She displays said awesomeness in the scene with Jasper showing how to fight newborns, which was enjoyable, I love the bit where Jasper go's in for a kiss and she disappears and appears on his back stealing a kiss. I was waiting for Jasper to say '' You turly are one frightening little monster'' , but sadly no (ahhhh)... Kellan Lutz as Emmet Cullen was great. I know that Emmett's character may not contribute as much to the story line as some of the other Cullens, but he really did improve greatly as Emmett. I hope he has more lines in the next two movies as am looking forward to all the banter between Bella and Emmett in Breaking Dawn and can't wait to see the arm wrestle.. Carlilse and Esme Cullen just perfect. You see the mother come out of Esme more when she sticks up for Bree. Peter Facinelli captures his character in every scene he's in.. Each Cullen has up their acting abilities and they've added more depth to their characters.
********************************************************************************
"If you here to torture Jacob some more, feel free to leave!"
********************************************************************************
The Wolf pack has two new members Leah and Seth Clearwater. They are given very little time on screen, but the actors who play them show promise and will hopefully get more sufficient screen time in the next two films. Julia Jones as Leah was fab, you can see just by looking at her she's in pain and she's angry. When BooBoo Stewart character Seth first was great - the playful fighting with Jacob was fab. The rest of the wolf pack get a line here and there. Billy Black gets the most dialogue of all of them (courtesy of him telling an ancient Quileute legend - which becomes important towards the end of the film).
********************************************************************************
" I told you to keep a low profile!"
********************************************************************************
I was hated that they were changing Victoria's character from Rachelle Lefevre to Bryce Dallas Howard. All I could think was NO! Rachelle is and always will be Victoria in my eyes.. But as always I would give her a chance. She did ok, not too great not bad.. I think her voice was good - like its described in the book (soft, high, babyish, soprano).. you can see vengeance and deceit through her eyes.. her last scene where she was fighting Edward was funny, thats the only word the describe it.. I loved Xavier Samuel and Jodelle Ferland as Riley and Bree.. Xavier Samuel stole every scene he was in. I am glad we get to see when and where he was change from human to a newborn vampire and what's happening in seattle. We didn't get to see him die, but can tell it had to hurt badly after seeing what happen to him when Seth/wolf took his hand off.. Jodelle Ferland who played the fledgling Bree, was amazing in the few minutes that she was on screen. Her screams sounded so real, when Jane had her power on her and then when Felix killed her..
********************************************************************************
"The Volturi don't give second chances."
********************************************************************************
The Volturi are back in this movie, but sadly no Michael Sheen's character Aro comes (even though he's not in the book, but it would have been fun). Luckly Dokata Fanning's character Jane makes up for it.We only get to see her for a short time in the last movie but she makes her presence more strongly felt in this one. I love how she just orders the rest of the volturi gaurds about - poor Felix (when Jane put her powers on him). Charlie Bewley as Demetri was good - his composure and attitude was great. Carmeron Bright and Daniel Cudmore as Alex and Felix were done well..
********************************************************************************
"It's just as embrassing to me as it is to you"
********************************************************************************
Bella's mum Renee reappears in this film, and she has some good quality time with her daughter, but it's Billy Burke who continues to shine as Bella's dad, Charlie. His disapproval of Edward, favouritism towards Jacob and just general awesomeness is what makes him so great. Sadly, his equally awesome connection with Alice is only briefly visited. I wished they had more time together.. I loved the scene were Charlie and Bella's character are having the sex talk - I couldn't stop laughing and the scene were Charlie gets between Edward and Jacob to cool off the fight, I thought that was so funny. A human cop stopping a vampire and werewolf from ripping each other apart! Awesome!.. The rest of the cast were great. I loved Jessica's graduation speech. Is it just me, or does anyone want to see Angela with Ben and not Eric? And where the hell is Lauren and Tyler?..
********************************************************************************
My favorite scene in the movie is when Bella, Edward and Jacob are in a tent in a snowstorm. Awkward!. Bella is freezing cold and Edward's cold body can't do a thing. The shirtless Jacob steps in saying, Face it, I'm hotter than you. and gets under the covers and Bella snuggles up against his warm chest. Edward can only watch. Good only gets better when Jacob then suggests, It'd be faster if you took your clothes off... survival 101 lol..
********************************************************************************
David Slade stucked to the main parts of the book and was happy the way the movie ended. He has crafted a beautifully movie with some excellent action pieces. This book, the darkest in the series, was easily seen in Slade's dark direction and great usage of Riley as a more intriguing character.. The soundtrack to this film was incredible. The cinematography and locations for this movie were breathtakingly beautiful. The fight scenes were visually stunning..
********************************************************************************
Eclipse is my favorite of these movies so far, and is also my favorite book. I enjoyed it from start to finish. It has action, romance, some drama. So I recommend to anyone to give this movie a go and sit down and enjoy.. Am counting down the days till DVD released and can't wait for Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2..

Dirty Dancing 1987,  PG-13)
Dirty Dancing
Jennifer Grey turns in a star-making performance as Baby Houseman, the young idealistic teen who finds her head turned one magical summer by the flashy Johnny Castle, played with swiveling-hip sincerity by Patrick Swayze, their chemistry is amazing in this film. The main highlight for me for the movie is the dancing, espeically the last dance., were johnny says the most Memorable quote"Nobody puts Baby in a corner". The film won the Oscar that year for Best Song "(I've Had)The Time of My Life" which is used in the film's spectacular finale. The film is irresistible and once you've experienced it for the first time, multiple viewings will follow its a true classic.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest 2006,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
A great continuation from the first movie. I think it was better than the first movie. Johnny Depp was fantastic as everybody's favorite fearless, poignant and naive pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow. Orlando Bloom, great as Will. The incredibly Keira Knightley shines as Elizabeth. We've also got Bill Nighy as Davy Jones, Jack Davenport as Norrington, and Stellan Skarsgard as Bootstrap Bill. Entertaining, funny, thrilling, It was action-packed.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 2003,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
The real show stopper was off course the great Johnny Depp who up to now in my opinion has never played apoor role. The way he move and most definitely talks is perfect and in my opinion no one else could have played the character as good as he, he was seriously a joy to watch. With great help from the all star cast or Bloom, Rush and off course Knightley. I am sure Pirates of the Caribbean will be remembered as one of the best pirates movie ever made. Anyone who hasn't watched it yet, hurry up and do. Anyone who has, go watch it again. It's worth it.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End 2007,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End
The action sequences were fantastical - great fantasy. They kept you breathless and wanting more - and you never knew quite how a certain situation would end. Johnny Depp (the greatest actor of his generation) is great as always. Orlando Bloom has came a long way since the first film and he gives a terrific performance. Keira is as hot as always and this is also her best performance to date. It was a real joy to see Geoffrey Rush back in the series. Chow Yun-Fat was great as the villain and Keith Richards' cameo was one of the funniest moments in the film. I'd recommend the film, then: pretty much everyone in the world will go and see it regardless.

Pleasantville 1998,  PG-13)
Pleasantville
Pleasantville - Nothing Is As Simple As Black And White..

A brother and sister from the 1990s are sucked into their television set and suddenly find themselves trapped in a "Leave it to Beaver" style 1950's television show, complete with loving parents, old fashioned values, and an overwhelming amount of innocence and naivete. Not sure how to get home, they integrate themselves into this "backwards" society and slowly bring some color to this black and white world. But as innocence fades, the two teens begin to wonder if their 90s outlook is really to be preferred..

An enjoyable movie.. Beautifully done..

Face/Off 1997,  R)
Face/Off
Apart from having a really cool original story, the movie features some really awesome action sequences that for the most part are pretty believable, and for me, believable action sequences make an action movie so much better. I think there was a really good balance between actual story and the action, which is good. The acting is very good in this film. This is a perfect film to show acting range. When it starts out John Travolta is the good cop and Nicholas Cage is the sadistic maniac, and then they suddenly switch roles, and it goes off perfectly. John Travolta plays Nicholas Cage playing a psycho really well, and Nicholas Cage does a good job of playing John Travolta playing a good cop. Truthfully, I liked Nicholas Cage better in the role of Sean Archer than John Travolta, and I'm happy that was the way it was through the majority of the movie rather than vice versa. Overall i have to say John Woo did an excellent job as the director and the way Travolta and Cage gelled as the two sides of the law was brilliant.

The Man in the Iron Mask 1998,  PG-13)
The Man in the Iron Mask
The acting and casting in this movie was excellent and believable, each scene was like a work of art! Leonardo DiCaprio plays two characters so distinctly and effectively that you absolutely hate one and love the other. Gabriel Byrne plays the noble D'Artangan, who was once one of "The Four Musketeers", and is a good man but is loyal to the evil king for a reason that we don't know until the end and I won't give away. John Malkovich plays the straightforward Athos and plays him perfectly. Jeremy Irons is one of the top British actors in the business and proves it again as the Jesuit Musketeer Aramis. I love Gerard Depardieu he is delightful as the old and weak Porthos, the womanizer, more concerned with the pains of growing older. This is definitely a movie that can be enjoyed over and over again. The scenery. Beautiful location shoots and lovely costumes, plus a certain realism of having some of the clothing, sweat stained, mussed and torn when appropriate. Music. Marvelous score which well suited the action and emotions being depicted upon the screen.

Identity 2003,  R)
Identity
Identity is a very unique film that impressed me very much when i first saw it and every time i've seen it since. The moives is a fascinating whodunit, you your really intrigued since the start until the end. The cast works well as an ensemble, each playing their parts well. John Cusack as a former cop turned limo driver....Ray Liotta in top form as the mysterious FBI agent, Amanda Peet as a prostitue, Pruitt Taylor vince is simply spectacular as the character Malcolm Rivers, Jake Busey extremely scary and creepy as a convicted killer, John Mcgiley as a cautious stepfather and John Hawkes as a hotel manager. I recommened anyone to see this.

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves 1991,  PG-13)
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
When Robin and his Moorish companion come to England and the tyranny of the Sheriff of Nottingham, he decides to fight back as an outlaw.
............
Costner was wonderful in the role of Robin Hood. He has a way of keeping you interested in any movie he is in. Rickman gives a great over-the-top performance as a bitterly humorous sheriff. Christian Slater is completely lovable, he had some good humourous moments. Freeman, Connery, and Mastrantonio give their all, creating a truly emotional and powerful film..

I have seen this film more than 30 time and I still don't get bored of it. There is the perfect mixture of action, drama, and comedy to keep it exciting, interesting, and entertaining, while at the same time to not compromise the solid narrative structure or reduce the extent to which the film can be taken seriously, but still enjoyed on a light-hearted level..

Other than the acting the cinematography was well shot and the locations where the film was shot, other than in Pinewood, were simply amazing.

It also has a Beautiful soundtrack. Bryan Adams hit song, "Everything I do, I do it for you" provides the perfect touch to this hit movie.

Point of No Return (The Assassin) 1993,  R)
Point of No Return (The Assassin)
I haven't seen the original "Nikita" so I wasn't sure what if was good or not, but I did like it so am happy with that. Fonda does a credible job and makes a convincing action hero and a standout performance from Harvey Kietel as the Vicious Cleaner. Gabriel Byrne was great as Bob and the chemistry between him and maggie/Nina was overwhelming. As a thriller, "The Assassin" is a fast-paced and exciting one.
34
Casanova 2005,  Unrated)
Casanova
"Casanova" is an absolutely wonderful 2-part series.. The cast are amazing, especialy David Tennant, Laura Fraser and Peter O'Toole. Brilliantly writing by Russell T Davies.. the production trumps most period dramas on television or elsewhere with its brilliant acting, excellent script, and wonderfully entertaining effect..

Edward Scissorhands 1990,  PG-13)
Edward Scissorhands
This is one of the best of the creative and imaginate tim burton's film, with brillent music by danny elfman.Johnny Depp was amazin as Edward, what makes him so great in this role is his ability to convey so much with so few words. Also astonishing performance from Ryder and Weasit.
36
Ghost 1990,  PG-13)
Ghost
It's romantic and touching, it shows the love that transcends even death. Moore and Swayze's performace were amazing, the chemisty they has was outstanding and Whoopi Goldberg makes an excellence performance and sensational, providing great laughs. On the whole, the film keeps you mesmerised from beginning to end. It never hits a boring moment.

Anastasia 1997,  G)
Anastasia
The main characters have very enjoyable and witty banter quite reminiscent of some the finest romantic movie comedies. The voice cast is stellar as well (and seems particularly matched to the animation). And all of the locales are incredible, from the Russian palaces to the marvellous sequence where Paris by night looks impressionistic. Beautifully animated feature courtesy of Don Bluth, you'd almost swear this was one of the great Disney features. Historically inaccurate, but who cares?

alice in wonderland is a fav of mines growing up. The music and animation is great. The characters are very wacky. I would highly recommend this to any Disney lovers.

Sleepy Hollow
Depp brings another excellent performance in this movie, very detailed and that details made his character more interesting. Ricci performace was good, the chemisty between her and depp was good. Serenity
Serenity has interesting and distinct characters, witty dialogue, and a fascinating. The movie is based on the tv series fire-fly, but even if you haven't seen it the movie tells you everything you need to know. Great performances from the cast, espeically from nathan and summer. There are some sad moments, some gut busting lines, and some rousing actions sequences that make "Serenity" a wonderful film that really, really deserves a sequel and, perhaps if we're lucky, a second chance on Sci-Fi.

Footloose 1984,  PG)
Footloose
Footloose - One kid. One town. One chance..

When teenager Ren and Mum move from Chicago to a small town in the West, he's in for a real case of culture shock. Though he tries hard to fit in, the streetwise Ren can't quite believe he's living in a place where rock music and dancing are illegal. There is one small pleasure, however: Ariel, a troubled but lovely blonde with a jealous boyfriend. and a Bible-thumping minister, who is responsible for keeping the town dance-free. Ren and his classmates want to do away with this ordinance, especially since the senior prom is around the corner, but only Ren has the courage to initiate a battle to abolish the outmoded ban and revitalize the spirit of the repressed townspeople. Fast-paced drama is filled with such now-famous hit songs as the title track and "Let's Hear It for the Boy."..

Classic tale of teen rebellion and repression features a delightful combination of dance choreography and realistic and touching performances. Lighthearted and enjoyable movie

Heathers 1988,  R)
Heathers
The movie is brilliant acted by Winnona Ryder, but the show is stolen by Christian Slater, his Nicholson-esque performance is eerie and he gets my vote, the rest of the cast are geat too. The humour is dark and the plot unbelievable at times, but this only adds to the surreal atmosphere and unforgettable lines..

Meanwhile The Socs and The Greasers prepare to fight.
..........
This happens to be the first book I ever read. And with most books turned into movies they seem to lose half the story and place it with something else. I didn't have to worry with this as the movie follow the book very well and didn't add anything new, which was great as it would have taking away the passion I feel for the book. There are a couple of scenes missing but nothing dramatic. They can be seen on the DVD's deleted scenes. There is top named actors in this movie, such as Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio, Matt Dillon, Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Diane Lane and Leif Garrett, who really make their characters and the movie come to life. Francis Ford Coppola did an excellent job directing the movie.

You can't win. You know that, don't you? It doesn't matter if you whip us, you'll still be where you were before, at the bottom. And we'll still be the lucky ones at the top with all the breaks. It doesn't matter. Greasers will still be Greasers and Socs will still be Socs. It doesn't matter.

Murder in the First 1994,  R)
Murder in the First
Murder in the First - One was condemned. The other was determined. Two men whose friendship gave them the will to take on the system.

Henri Young was convicted for stealing 5$ from post office and sent to Alcatraz, the most secured jail for the most dangerous criminals. After a futile escape mission he was sent to dungeon and got out as a murderer after thousand days, though maximum 19 days in dungeon is the official punishment was allowed. He became scared and confused savage and killed one of the prisoners. It was a sure to lose case and so James Stamphill , a fresh law graduate was appointed as his lawyer. But rest is history! Based on a true story, Murder in the first is a masterpiece by Marc Rocco shows how the dungeon of Alcatraz was shut down for ever.

Kevin Bacon was amazing as a tortured prisoner in Alcatraz. Christian Slater plays a youthful, inexperienced attorney to perfection and Gary oldman plays the part sadistically good.

This is a movie that will touch you emotionally, one of the best movies ever made. A classic. The way you feel you want to rescue Kevin, from the cruel and vile treatment he endures. The beauty of the movie is that it shows you the truth as to how harsh life was back in the 1930's and what people did to survive, if caught the punishment was very harsh.

Amazaing movie, it endeavour's to show strength and triumph.

Boys Don't Cry 1999,  R)
Boys Don't Cry
Breathtakingly portrayed by Hilary Swank who plays on true events of the brutal rape and murder of Teena Bradon (Bradon Teena) in 1993. Swank deserved every part of that best actress award she received for the film. A truly unmissable film, beautifully made but not for the light-hearted. kimberly peirce did an amazing job in developing the love story between Lana and Brandon/Teena.

Untamed Heart
All of Caroline's boyfriends seem to leave her or cheat on her. On her way home from work two men try to rape Caroline. An introverted man from her work, Adam, rescues her. Adam is an orphan and he is told that he's got a baboon's heart. Adam opens up to Caroline and together they make sense. Adam and Caroline are very happy together but the rapists try to get back at Adam.

Untamed Heart is an absolutely touching tearjerker romance. Marisa Tomei gives one of the most endearingly sweet performances. I think it is impossible to watch this movie and not fall in love with Christian Slater along with Tomei. There were moments of chemistry between the leads that really did spark.

The Lost Boys 1987,  R)
The Lost Boys
The Lost boys - Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It's fun to be a vampire.
**************************************************
Following the divorce of their parents, Micheal & Sam Emerson, along with their mother Lucy, move to Santa Carla, California to live with their mother's father, a peculiar old man. Santa Carla happens to be the murder capital of the world....Sam laughs off rumours he hears about vampires who inhabit the small town. But after Mike meets a beautiful girl at the local amusement park, he begins to exhibit the classic signs of vampirism. Fearing for his own safety, Sam recruits two young vampire hunters to save his brother by finding and destroying the head vampire...
**************************************************
The Lost Boys was definitely up there as one of the better horror movies of the late 1980s. It had style and decent acting with some offbeat humor that kept me entertained. This movie was probably one of the last good films involving both Coreys. Even Kiefer Sutherland, who now plays a cop in the hit series 24, made the role of the seeming lead vampire one of his own...
**************************************************
A wisely chosen cast including Jason Patrick, Dianne Wiest, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Alex Winter, Billy Wirth and the two Coreys who bring extra fun with their performances; Corey Haim and Corey Feldman with some good character actors like Edward Herrmann and Barnard Hughes.
**************************************************
The Lost Boys is great fun all the way and remains one of the most stylish modern vamp movies around. This is one of the most memorable vampire movie I've ever seen. If you haven't watched it, you absolutely have to rent it one night with your friends, family or significant other. Make some popcorn, turn out the lights and spend 100 minutes immersed in this freaky little classic. It would be highly enjoyed by old or a younger audience.

Joel Schumacher did an amazing job at this teen horror/comdey vampire movie...

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein 1994,  R)
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
Kenneth Branagh does a great job of being the doctor. The 'creature', was played absolutely great by Robert De Niro. The supporting cast is also very good, with Helena Bonham Carter doing a fantatic job as Victor's love interest Elizabeth Wonderful sweeping classic music complements the astounding visuals.. All in all, the movie's perfect.

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride 2005,  PG)
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride
The casting of the voice's are great. Johnny Depp gives Victor an innocence and strength of character that is never frivolous. Emily Watson threads the fine line as the "other woman". She gives Victoria great compassion and heart. This is really Helena Bonham Carter's showcase. As she voices the Corpse Bride she is initially unaffected, not realizing her fate. Then there is a visceral sadness when she comes to terms that she must go without love. She poignantly says, "My dreams were taken from me." So does she now take this away from someone she now loves? This really makes "Corpse Bride" a funny, inspired, and special movie. The Corpse Bride is a beautiful story and a great direction from Tim Burton.

This movie was as perfect an adaptation of those books as I could imagine. The look, cast, atmosphere, everything was just spot on. The performances in the movie were great as well. I believe my favorite male character was Marv, played by Micky Rourke, and my favorite female character was definitely Miho, played by Devon Aoki..

V for Vendetta 2006,  R)
V for Vendetta
Remember, remember the 5th of November, the gun powder treason and plot. I know of no reason why the gun powder treason should ever be forgot..

Set against the futuristic landscape of totalitarian Britain, V For Vendetta tells the story of a mild-mannered young woman named Evey who is rescued from a life-and-death situation by a masked vigilante known only as "V." Incomparably charismatic and ferociously skilled in the art of combat and deception, V ignites a revolution when he detonates two London landmarks and takes over the government-controlled airwaves, urging his fellow citizens to rise up against tyranny and oppression. As Evey uncovers the truth about V's mysterious background, she also discovers the truth about herself - and emerges as his unlikely ally in the culmination of his plot to bring freedom and justice back to a society fraught with cruelty and corruption..

Great movie.. An amazing story.. Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving are wonderful.. this movie is a must-see..

The Ice Storm 1997,  R)
The Ice Storm
1973, suburban Connecticut: middle class families experimenting with casual sex, drink, etc., find their lives out of control.
..........
The Ice Storm is a dissection of suburban life with a `winter storm' . It has a great cast and for that reason it can't simply focus on one character. If one sub-plot reaches a climax they quickly switch over to another story, so it's observational but not participatory. Despite the fact that there are a number of different characters, they all manage to nicely develop. Overall, The Ice Storm is a impressive and underrated film.
..........
' When you think about it, it's not easy to keep from just wandering out of life. It's like someone's always leaving the door open to the next world, and if you aren't paying attention you could just walk through it, and then you've died. That's why in your dreams it's like you're standing in that doorway... and the dying people and the newborn people pass by you... and brush up against you as they come in and out of the world during the night. You get spun around, and in the morning...it takes a while to find your way back into the world. '

The Hand That Rocks the Cradle 1992,  R)
The Hand That Rocks the Cradle
Rebecca DeMornay gives the best performance in the film and who is truly convincing as Peyton, the newly widowed wife who takes it upon herself to manipulate her way into a family.. Annabella Sciorra gave a great performances as the asthmatic housewife. This is one of the best psychotic thrillers I have ever seen. It started out really good, and ended great, it has an interesting storyline and some spectacularly sinister moments. Curtis Hanson has made an excellent, sharp thriller. I would highly recommend watching this movie and would encourage anyone who is interested in dramas to see this film and I can guarantee you won't be disappointed!..

Mystic River - We bury our sins, we wash them clean..

During a summer in 1975, Dave Boyle and two friends, Jimmy and Sean, are playing on a sidewalk in Boston when Dave is abducted by two men and subjected to sexual abuse over a period of several days. Eventually escaping, but haunted into adulthood by his trauma, Dave becomes a primary suspect when Jimmy's daughter, Katie, is found murdered. Sean, assigned to investigate the crime, finds himself facing both demons from the past and demons in the present as the circumstances surrounding Katie's death are uncovered..

Such an amazing movie. Brilliant performances by Penn, Bacon and Robbins.. Eastwood has given the audience a very dark film in which every actor delivers an essentially awesome part to make the whole soulful and captivating..

Pure 2002,  R)
Pure
Some people say the film was too depressing, with no redemption. But maybe some films don't need complete, expected solutions. I feel that the ending to Pure was not altogether hopeless or fatalistic. In showing that there has been some triumph or progress during the course of the film, hopes are validated that Paul's life can continue to improve beyond the film.

This is a must see film for anyone that likes to be emotionally touched whilst watching a movie..

Justin Chatwin and Margarita Levieva are a perfectly casted for thier characters, their acting was phenomenal, they made me feel for both of them. I don't understand why most people I know, just didn't like this movie. The plot is interesting and well done. The dam and hospital scenes are memorable, and the movie had good suspense throughout. Touching scenes during this movie and has a perfectly executed soundtrack. I would recommend this movie, it's well worth watching.

" I saw your face last night, Annie, and for a minute there I bet you would've traded places with me."
