My Favorite Movies

  Warszawa's Rating My Rating
1
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind 2004,  R)
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
The most interesting love story I have ever watched. The way the story is laid out and the subtle ways Michel Gondry alludes to knowledge of the human subconscious, the color coating of Clemintine , the introversion of Joel Parrish, this is easily on my top three of all time.
2
Network 1976,  R)
Network
The best satire I have ever watched, intelligent humor, and amazing performances.
3
Downfall (Der Untergang) 2004,  R)
Downfall (Der Untergang)
This film is mind bogglingly good. Not only does it do something new with a story they has been retold too many times to count. It also makes its retelling into one of the most interesting and emotionally complex character pieces that I have ever seen.
4
The Shawshank Redemption 1994,  R)

Dog Day Afternoon 1975,  R)
Dog Day Afternoon
Awesome, this story is very well made and very well executed al puchino once again picks a character where his over the top acting fits perfectly with the flamboyance of the protaganist. The subtle politcal undertow is not lost on me very well executed film.
7
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 1975,  R)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Genious, Amongst jack nicholson's best which is saying alot. The book was fantastic and the nuances of the story I feel were very well covered in this amazing film.
8
The Insider 1999,  R)
The Insider
Genious, the editing is fantastic the cinimatagraphy conveys the emotion of the picture the actors are fantastic... One of my favorite movies. The way they use the interview at different time in the story giving it a more and more effective meaning is very skillfully done, this movie comes with my highest recomendations.
9
Ed Wood 1994,  R)
Ed Wood
A movie written about someone who is widly seen as the worst director of all time. Perfect fodder for a comedy just not one that is incredibly obvious. The subject matter is interesting but the characterizations are even more interesting. Filmed in the style of film noir it parodies many of the cleshe's of that style with making it obbvious a very intelegent dumb comedy.
10
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas 1998,  R)
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Awesome, amongst both hunter s. thompson's best written works and terry gilliams best directed. The cinematography that can only be associated with terry works incredibly well in the drugged out paranoid ambiance that this film creates. Certainly amongst my favorite comedies and would rank rather high for movies too.
11
Big Fish 2004,  PG-13)
Big Fish
Tim Burton's most conventional film but also his most emotionally affecting.

14
Ratatouille 2007,  G)
Ratatouille
Awesome, simply Awesome!!! Definitely in the upper echelon of films period. Let alone animated ones.
15
Groundhog Day 1993,  PG)
Groundhog Day
Very good my favorite Bill Murray film, it is like comfort food for me it showed me that romantic comedies are not always awful. In that genre this comes in second only to Eternal sunshine. I feel like I should rate this lower but I like it so much I won't dare.
16
Wonder Boys 2000,  R)
Wonder Boys
Witty, interesting and not anywhere near as contrived as the plot makes it sound.
