A terrific movie with a perfect performance from George C. Scott. Scott puts on one of my favorite performances in movie history. The movie doesnt have many battle sequences but I like that about the movie. The movie is supposed to be about Patton not about the war. I like how at some points they make it so the audience begins to get past his harsh side and then Patton does something to mess it up and make the audience hate him again. I especially like the opening scene where Patton gives that long speech.
This movie is just geniously put together and has top notch acting. Bruno Ganz who plays Hitler puts on one of the greatest performances I have ever seen. I had never heard of him and now after watching this movie I have become a big fan. Alexandra Maria Lara puts on a great performance alongside Ganz. Everyone was on top of their game in this film and I think it has to do with Ganz and his magnificant performance as Hitler. Words cant even say how brilliant I thought Ganz was. The Big Three performances in this film would most definatly without a doubt have to be Ganz,Lara and Berkel. Bruno Ganz's performance will go down as my favorite performance of all-time. Just brilliant I could ramble on forever but I will give out a few more props. Heino Ferch who plays Albert Speer was really good and gave depth to Ganz's Hitler. I would be a bad person if I didnt include Ulrich Matthes who played Joseph Goebbels he was just brilliant with his verbal dialouge along with his non-verbal dialouge. Juliane Kohler was also brilliant as Eva Braun. Great film that will be my all-time favorite forever.
This in my mind is one of the finest Western films I have ever seen and also one of Clint Eastwoods finest performances as well as a terrific cast to go along side him with Morgan Freeman and especially Gene Hackman. I highly recommend this film to fans of Westerns and well to anyone as well. Terrific film with a terrific cast.
One of the most recognizable Westerns in the genre. There isnt really much I can say for it other than the three leading cast members of Clint Eastwood,Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach as the Good,Bad and Ugly respectively. There is so much going for this movie that there isnt much to say. I HIGHLY recommend this film.
Steven Spielbergs greatest film ever.Tom Hanks plays his character well and gives in my opinion one of the best performances ever. This movie is one of the greatest accounts of the D-Day landing ever and should make any WW2 vetrean proud.I really love Barry Pepper in this movie as the sharpshooter he really made it a stand out character if someone else got that part I dont think I would give a damn about the character but Pepper is great.
Truly one of the greatest movies of all-time I love every minute of it from the start to the end of the credits.Josh Harnett plays Eversman really well. The rest of the cast plays their caracters well for some reason I really like Jason Isaacs character a lot Captain Steele and really am not a fan of Tom Sizemore's character. But absolulty one of the best movies ever in my opinion. One of the saddest truths in this movie is the deaths of Shugart and Gordon.I have read the book and the movie is just a masterpiece.
WOW! Thats all I can say this movie was so amazing. This was one of the best movies I have seen in awhile. I was simply blown away by the action and especially by the emotion. Dong-Kun Jang and Bin Won play there respective parts masterfully and deliver one of the finest performances I have ever seen. Definatly in my top 10 favorite performances in movie history. Just brilliant in every aspect. A really sad movie but a really good movie I would recommend to anyone.
If you dont mind sitting down for a long time you wont mind this movie. Although the time didnt matter to me in fact I wouldnt have minded if they made it longer with another Gladiator fight or something like that. Russel Crowe really gets in to this character and develops him into the hero character. I just love the fight sequences as well as the scenes off the battlefield where Phoenix's character really develops into the bad guy and also where Crowe's character really develops with the other gladiators. But the real star of this movie is the music. I just love the music score in this movie and it fits well with this brilliant film.
I absolutly loved this movie. One thing I had against it was Tom Cruise as Stauffenberg but after watching the movie I dont have an issue with that anymore.I love the fact the film had some German actors in it.If some one has a problem with the ending and was let down by the fact that Stauffenberg died as well as his helpers. All I have to say is wow look in the history books and you would have known the ending before you walked in the movie theatre. Well anyway a good film about a bad time in history. We need more films about this time period especially about the Nazi Party. We need to break down this wall of fear and just show it how things happened and let people that are too lazy to learn to learn while watching a movie. I also have to give props to Bill Nighy as he nearly drew me to tears at the end before he is killed when Stauffenberg tells him to look them in the eyes. In fact I think Bill Nighy was the top performer in this movie as General Olbricht.
This movie is just a breathtaking masterpiece from the great American legend Clint Eastwood. I like the perspective that Eastwood took and have to give big time props for breaking down a cultural barrier and having the balls to show the enemy(Japanese) side of the war/battle. This film has top notch acting from Ken Watanabe as General Kuribashi and great supporting cast to go along side him. Also good performance from Shido Nakamura. I just cant say enough about this great film. I would say its better than Flags of our Fathers. Great film higly recommend it!
This is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Clint Eastwood pulls out another great film. Clint Eastwood will and always be one of if not the greatest actor to ever live. Eastwood plays his character to absolute perfection. The audience is drawn into feel sorry for him at his wifes funeral but then the audience begans to hate him and then feel sorry for him. The only thing I have against this film is the end when the family is so worried about the will. Where as the Korean family is more focused on their fallen hero. Eastwood is just beyond words in this film. Highly recommend it.
Mathew Broderick gives his greatest perfomance in his carrer.Denzel and Morgan both play their characters perfectly.Wouldnt change anything in this movie. One of the saddest endings ever which makes this film much better cause thats what really happened to the 54th except for some facts like in real life Shaw was shot in the heart inside not outside the fort and the rest of the 54th was rumored to have run in the fort after his body only for them all to die.
Its not every day that you see a zombie/comedy/horror film and this movie did not dissapoint. I loved this movie from the beginning and cant get the little catchphrases out of my head. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are one of the best comedic teams I have ever seen on film and I hope to see more of them together. Although a comedy movie their is also a dab of emotion mixed in as well. Loved it this is a movie I can watch over and over again.
I just love this film. Ed Harris in my opinion took the show with his role as General Hummel. Nick Cage did a good job as well as Sean Connery. I think David Morse although a small part gave depth to Ed Harris's character.
This movie will go down as one of the greatest films of all time and deserves the title. This is my second favorite performance of Tom Hank's only his role in Saving Private Ryan out does this role. Just perfect in every aspect from acting to music score. Just a perfect film that will make you laugh, smile and cry. God bless Tom Hanks.
Tom Hanks does it again. Tom Hanks was just brilliant in this movie and have yet to see a movie with him in it that I didnt enjoy. Great emotional film that pulled me in and made me feel as if I were Tom Hanks. This film was so good that the saddest scene is when Hank's character loses Wilson his volleyball friend. In any other film people would have just laughed out loud instead of feel sorry for Hank's character.
This movie is a great biopic about the proclaimed "Worst Director of All-time". It would have been ironic if the movie was bad but it was not. The acting was top notch and the black and white really brings you the audience into the feeling of the 50's. Martin Landau does a brilliant job of portraying the legendary Dracula Bela Lagosi. Johnny Depp does a good job as Ed Wood. The supporting cast was brilliantly casted especially with Bill Murray. This movie takes a look into the man behind the "bad movies" and turns the audience to appreciate that Ed Wood did what he found interesting and unlike a lot of directors today show appreciation for his work even if it is crap.
In my opinion the best Hitchcock film out of a bunch of great Hitchcock films. The film I think plays out great and the acting is great as well. If I was a teenager in the 50's I would probably find this scary and suspensful. Well I do still find it somewhat suspenseful. Its been awhile since I have last seen but I thought that it was stupid of Hitchcock to let you know that he really is the killer but now that I think of it it is just part of Hitchcock's genious he makes you think that it is too obvious but also makes you think that their will be some suprise twist that is bound to come. Great performances from Grace Kelly and James Stewart.
This movie seems to always be under attack because of its subject matter but I could care less about that. This movie delivers all the stuff I like in a movie or a book action and puzzles all rolled up into this mysterious race for the truth. Tom Hanks gives another great performance as Robert Langdon and does it perfectly. Jean Reno gives an excellent performance in a rather small part and I enjoyed watching him in this movie. I also must add that I was blown away by some of the French talent they got in this film along with Audrey Tautou. I also enjoyed the performance by Sir Ian McKellen before he was revealed as the bad guy. Alfeed Molina was a good addition but Paul Bettany played Silas perfectly and it blew me away.
This movie about the Nazi Holocaust and Nazi occupation of Poland takes and interesting perspective. This movie could have been a cliche movie about the Holocaust where the Germans are monsters with no soul or even a frame of mind. The movie starts off like the typical Germans are bad but towards the end, thanks to a great performance from Thomas Kretschmann, the viewpoint takes a change. This movie has unbelievebly great music and great acting as well as the great sets. This movie takes an interesting look at the Polish Jew Wladyslaw Szpilman and his struggles with the Nazi occupation of Poland and the situations Szpilman and Poland went through from the beggining of the Nazi occupation to the end. Adrien Brody does a great job of playing Szpilman. If one scene in this movie could sum it up for me it would have to be when the German officer, played by Kretschmann, sat and listened to Szpilman play the piano.
This is a great and underrated film starring Bruce Willis. The film has an amazing supporting cast with the men under Willis's command and the African people and as well as the beautiful Monica Bellucci. Great emotionaly charged film.
I just recently found this movie laying around in my movie collection and decided to watch it and I have to say I didnt think I would enjoy it but I did. I hate Colin Farrell but couldnt deny that he gave a good performance. Bruce Willis was brilliant in this film and always enjoy watching Bruce Willis do his thing.Marcel Iures was also brilliant as Visser and found myself watching him a lot of the time steal the scene from Farrell and Willis in the private meetings the characters had. But out of all the people in this movie I found myself suprised to say that Terrence Howard absolutly stole the show from everyone else including Bruce Willis. I enjoyed this film and I am glad I found it laying around.
This is a great Vietnam War movie and is really well done.Mel Gibson gives a great performance so does Kinnear,Elloit and Pepper. This movie is manly based on the honor and feelings the real Lt.Col. Moore felt in the Valley of Death. Barry Pepper gives the best performance in this movie in my opinion. Pepper was just a magnificant side character that added an extra element to Mel Gibson's character. Pepper's last scene with Gibson was a great performance.
This is a great foreign film about a German group know as The Comedian Harmonists and their rise to fame and fall due to the Nazi Party. I enjoyed the acting and enoyed the music even more. If you are not particularly happy about the acting in this movie just enjoy the great music. Heino Ferch and Ulrich Noethen give great performances. At some parts the acting isnt really convincing but just enjoy the terrific music.
Pretty good movie with some good performances. In my opinion Adam Beach was the top performer in this film followed by Noah Emmerich. I think Nick Cage could have done better. If Nick Cage did better he would probably would have moved this movie into a better direction. But all in all a great WW2 film about a forgotten part of the war with the codetalkers and their importance to the war in the Pacific.
One of the best if not the best Batman movie ever. Ledger's performance as the Joker was the bright spot in this film just brilliant. Everyone says its the best performance in history but I wouldnt go that far. I think Scott as Patton in Patton was better Ganz as Hitler in Downfall was better and even Hanks in Saving Private Ryan was better.I absolutly love the supporting cast in this movie with Freeman,Oldman and Caine. But I hate Bale as Batman and Gyllenhaal as Rachel. In my opinion Eckhart gives the second best performance in this film followed by Caine.
Im not a big fan of Tom Cruise but I found myself drawn to watch him in this movie and the second I seen his face in the film I knew I would enjoy this movie and boy did I enjoy it. Tom Cruise just steals the show and also gets contribution from Foxx. But my eyes were glued to Cruise and I was hooked the whole movie especially the ending.
A brilliant adaption from a brilliant book by Steinbeck. Gary Sinsie was just brilliant and really got the feel of what Steinbeck might have thought writing George's character. John Malkovich was beyond words terrific. These two worked really well together and made a terrific film that is the best movie I've seen made after a book. Did I mention John Malkovich was brilliant?
This film is a visual and audio soundtrack masterpiece! This film has by far the best visuals of any film I have ever seen. Just amazing natural camera shots of some the world's most beautiful places. This film without words shows the world in the different eyes of the people that live in it. It shows people at their worst and sometimes at their best. This movie is a visual and spirtiual masterpiece.
What can one say about the Ghostbusters that hasn't already been said?
Anyway the cast is one of the most well built casts I have seen in a movie especially a comedy movie and especially a comdey movie about guys that capture ghosts and save New York City. To start off with lets look at the Ghostbusters of Bill Murray,Dan Aykroyd,Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson. The cast of these guys is what captivated America and blew our minds. Murray hits you with the comedy,Aykroyd also hits you with the comdey, and so on and so forth. The contribution of Sigourney Weaver adds in a love interest that every classic movie has to have. Of course under the layer of the main cast of Ghostbusters comedy lays the comedy of Rick Moranis. Rick Moranis gives us more comedy in the Ghostbusters movies when the Ghostbusters are not on screen. Enough cannot be said about the main Ghostbusters all brilliant in their own way. Murray was the charm,Aykroyd the every man,Ramis the smart one and Hudson the street guy with city knowledge. Of course cant go without mentioning the great music in the movie and of course Ray Parker Jr.'s Ghostbuster's theme song.
