1
The Matrix 1999,  R)
The Matrix
One of my all time favorites. There are some great philosophical insights, and it makes you question the nature of reality. The sequels weren't as good.
2
Fight Club 1999,  R)
Fight Club
One of my all time favorites. Tyler Durden is my hero. But since he's only a character, I'll vote for Ron Paul for president.
3
eXistenZ 1999,  R)
eXistenZ
One of my favorite Cronenberg movies. A total mindf*ck, a bit reminiscent of Videodrome and Naked Lunch. Fans of The Matrix will enjoy this also.
4
The City of Lost Children (La Cité des Enfants Perdus) 1997,  R)
The City of Lost Children (La Cité des Enfants Perdus)
A masterpiece. A great surreal plot and stunning surreal imagery.
5
The Dark Backward (The Man with Three Arms) 1991,  R)
The Dark Backward (The Man with Three Arms)
Still love this movie even after all these years. Totally sick and twisted, and funny as hell.
6
Twelve Monkeys (12 Monkeys) 1995,  R)
Twelve Monkeys (12 Monkeys)
One of my all-time favorites. I love time-travel movies.
7
The Jacket 2005,  R)
The Jacket
I love this movie. A total mindf*ck with a very cool time travel theme.
8
Videodrome 1983,  R)
Videodrome
One of Cronenberg's best. It's a bit dated by today's standards, but still a great mindf*ck
9
The Machinist 2003,  R)
The Machinist
Another great mindf*ck movie. Has some excellent plot twists and surprises. Christian Bale is great in this, and yes, he really did lose all that weight for this role. Pay close attention to the license plates when you watch this.
10
Freaked 1993,  PG-13)
Freaked
Another great sick and twisted comedy. Not for the squeamish.
