Evita 1996,  PG)
Evita
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. Madonna gives her best film performance along with Antonio Banderas. Everything is perfect!
2
Office Space 1999,  R)
Office Space
This movie ganied a lot more relevance when I actually started working in an office, but it will appeal to anyone. One of my favorite funny movies of all time!
3
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory 1971,  G)
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
One of my favorite movies of all time. When I was little we continually rented it every week. When we actually bought it, I watched it all the time too. Gene Wilder is brilliant, and the whole movie is excellent.
4
The Princess Bride 1987,  PG)
The Princess Bride
This movie is a family favorite, and definately a classic in my book. "My name is Indigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."
5
Young Frankenstein 1974,  PG)
Young Frankenstein
Gene Wilder along with the rest of the cast is brilliant. This kind of comedy doesn't really exist anymore - this film is salvation from a lot of crap.
6
Ferris Bueller's Day Off 1986,  PG)
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
There's not much to say, this is a classic, plain and simple.
7
Cast Away 2000,  PG-13)
Cast Away
Tom Hanks is brilliant. I don't think the story would have worked with anyone else but him. It's very emotional as well - one of the movies I cry at everytime.
8
Requiem for a Dream 2000,  R)
Requiem for a Dream
Excellent, honest, and emotional.
9
The Departed 2006,  R)
The Departed
In my opinion, Leonardo DiCaprio sheds his "Titanic" image and brings great depth to this movie. All of the acting was superb, but his was, by far, the greatest performance.
10
What Dreams May Come 1998,  PG-13)
What Dreams May Come
I first saw this film in English class in highschool and I like it more everytime. It forces you to examine your beliefs and takes you beyond reality.
11
Harold and Maude 1971,  PG)
Harold and Maude
This is a hilarious and unconventional 70's movie - it's brilliant!
12
Little Miss Sunshine 2006,  R)
Little Miss Sunshine
This is an excellent unconventional family film. They are f*cked up, but at the end of the day, they love each other. Awww...
13
The Green Mile 1999,  R)
The Green Mile
I only saw this just recently. It was extremely emotional and aside from being an excellent movie, it SHOULD make you question the death penalty.
14
An Inconvenient Truth 2006,  PG)
An Inconvenient Truth
Everyone must see this film and make changes now. It is essential to the survival of our planet and if you don't know why, I guess you still need to watch it!
15
The Others 2001,  PG-13)
The Others
This is my 3rd and final scary movie that I actually enjoy. There is a Sixth Sense-like twist that really makes this movie stand out and like that movie as well, there are also some very chilling moments.
16
The Sixth Sense 1999,  PG-13)
The Sixth Sense
There are truly chilling moments in this movie, and the "twist" at the end brings it all together.
17
The Illusionist 2006,  PG-13)
The Illusionist
Edward Norton is at his best, the move is magical and it makes you believe. You know it's not real, but deep down, you're telling yourself it must be.
18
Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan 2006,  R)
Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
Of course comedy like this has been done before, but Borat takes the cake by far...and also shows us some very scary sides of America.
19
A League of Their Own 1992,  PG)
A League of Their Own
This is another classic movie. Again, all of the acting is excellent and the story is heartwarming as well.
20
Who Killed the Electric Car? 2006,  PG)
Who Killed the Electric Car?
This documentary isn't great for it's filmmaking - it needs to be seen for the subject matter - electric cars exist and we could all be driving them now while saving ourselves and the planet from imminent destruction.
21
Pan's Labyrinth 2006,  R)
Pan's Labyrinth
A real-world, grown-up fairy tale. It's enchanting and ultimately uplifting.
22
Into the Wild 2007,  R)
Into the Wild
This was one of the best new movies I have seen in a long time. It was made so beautifully and the soundtrack was great, not to mention Emile Hirsch and all of the supporting cast were excellent.
23
Titanic (in 3D) 2012,  PG-13)
Titanic (in 3D)
Historically interesting, one of the best love stories in a movie, very emotionally moving and stars 2 of my favorite actors!
24
Year of the Dog 2007,  PG)
Year of the Dog
Molly Shannon's best with a great supporting cast as well...the story is also something that I haven't really seen in film.
25
Zombieland 2009,  R)
Zombieland
This is one of the best comedies I have seen in a long time or...ever. Everything worked: the story, the acting, the actors, the jokes, the Bill Murray appearance, the ending, the length...everything. I LOVED it!
