2001: A Space Odyssey 1968,  G)
2001: A Space Odyssey
Stunning visuals and an intelligent story.
HAL9000 is terrifing!
It is slow (by today's standards) but absolutely rewarding.
2
Twelve Monkeys (12 Monkeys) 1995,  R)
Twelve Monkeys (12 Monkeys)
I believe that there is a role in every actor's work where you can see that he /she is talented and can actually act.
For me, "12 monkeys" is that movie for Brad Pitt.
I like Bruce Willis performance in many (not all of course) of his movies and this is so good... the story is excellent and the visual style of Terry Gilliam is just amazing.
This is one of my favorite sci-fi movies of all times.

What the Bleep Do We Know!? 2004,  Unrated)
What the Bleep Do We Know!?
Sort of puts all of my thoughts about life in the right words.
The story and characters are so-so, yet everything else is just great!
Not a film that is easy to see, because you have to actually understand what is being said.
4
A Clockwork Orange 1971,  R)
5
The Shining 1980,  R)
The Shining
One of the few great adaptations from a Stephen King's books.
Memorable performance by Jack Nicholson and a just a great plot with fantastic details.
6
Mars Attacks! 1996,  PG-13)
Mars Attacks!
Oh, what a sense of humor Tim Burton has!
And so it happens, I share this sense of humor.
Great cast, great story. What story, you ask? I think the whole point is in the miss-communication with the Martians.
Say one thing, do another. That's funny? well, in this movie, I think it is.
7
Alien 1979,  R)
8
Pulp Fiction 1994,  R)
9
Monty Python and the Holy Grail 1974,  PG)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
This is the kind of movie that doesn't have to get me rolling on the floor to call it hilarous.
It's the kind of humor I enjoy very much, weird, witty, silly, critical, absurd, inspired... all in one nice movie.

Magnolia
Great storytelling by P.T. Anderson. One of the few movies that tells the stories of 7 (I think) people and doesn't suck at it.
Great performances by everyone, including Tom Cruise.
Delightful to watch, one of my all time favorites.
16
Punch-Drunk Love 2002,  R)
Punch-Drunk Love
Why I liked this movie so much? maybe because I like P.T. Anderson and I didn't expect much from Adam Sandler. Surprise! He's good! Thank you P.T. Anderson! The story is eerie, intriguing and has an odd rhythm, but I liked it that way.
17
Memento 2000,  R)
Memento
Amazing story-telling!
18
Kung Pow! Enter the Fist 2002,  PG-13)
Kung Pow! Enter the Fist
Strange sense of humor, but I really laughed, it reminded me of this game I used to play with my siblings when we muted the TV and we improvised the dialogues.
Very creative and amusing most of the time.
Don't let the cow scene fool you! that one is pretty stupid.

The Prestige 2006,  PG-13)
The Prestige
Probably the best movie I've seen this year.
Great story. As I started to understand and realize certain things just made me more amazed instead of feeling that the movie was predictable.
Great performances, even for Bowie and except for Scarlet Johansson.
25
Jurassic Park 1993,  PG-13)

Well, what can I say, I love dinosaurs!
The story is good, the characters are ok, just enjoy watching the dinosaurs eat people! haha!

The Day the Earth Stood Still 1951,  G)
The Day the Earth Stood Still
Science fiction is often confused with action or fantasy.
Sciene fiction (the ones that I like, at least) has to have more intellectual and inteligent plots and characters.
This is one of those sci-fi movies.
The message is obvious and less complex than the stories of today, but nevertheless, it still applies.
31
Groundhog Day 1993,  PG)
32
300 2007,  R)
300
Freedom, honor and the fight against tirany. Yes, this movie is more than just slaughter, blood and brilliant execution.
I think this movie does for sword-fights what the Matrix did for gun fights.
I'm sure we will be seeing this kind of action and photography until we get sick. Oh, and I mean this in the best possible way for 300.
33
Gattaca 1997,  PG-13)
Gattaca
This is a good sci-fi movie with a classical story. No fancy visual effects, no fast action.
Just intelligent development.
34
V for Vendetta 2006,  R)
35
Who Framed Roger Rabbit 1988,  PG)
36
Waking Life 2001,  R)
Waking Life
Great techniques and a storyline that is more like a... dream.
The dialogues/monologues are interesting, provocative, intriguing.
