Really enjoyed this when I went to see it at the cinema with me m8ts. Some great scenes and one liners especially the scene when Alice runs down the side of a building. Though whats with the graveyard corpse coming to life????
The king of all slasher movies. Humble begnnings and some rather cheap effects (ie obvious hose 4 rain). Whilst Halloween (1978) give birth to the slasher genre this is the one which really kick started the craze for slashers in the 80s.
This is my favourite one of all the sequels and is the film when Jason finally becomes all super zombie. Some touches of humour added which help it along and great music provided by Alice Cooper.
The film in which Jason gets his now iconic ice hockey mask. Some good deaths which are undone by poor gore effects. Decent film enough 3rd film but certainly not the best.
One the best of the franchise. Enjoyable with some highly imaginable deaths which you would expect from a friday 13th. The gore effects are a notch up from the previous 2 installments but with Tom Savini doing them what else could you expect.
Quality!!!! Billy Bob Thornton is immense as the thiefing Santa with his small sidekick. Great mickey take of what xmas has become. Miles better than any of that soapy rubbish which most xmas films contain. Great laughs and one best adult comedy films ever made.
Quality movie by Raimi. We move slightly away from the out and out horror movie of the first to a horror comedy. Some great scenes and laughs. Ash is shown as the main man here and is able to fully shine.
Brilliant. Re-birth of the slasher genre which had taken a downturn since the late 80s/ early 90s. Throwback to the early 80s and homage to other horror films such as Psycho(1960) and giving us the "rules" in how to survive a horror movie.
Pretty good sequel. The body count is upped and less suspense and tension from the first. The rules are continued but the murderers are nowhere as good as ones from the first film.
Great movie. Some great acting, a wonderful score by Morricone and some moving scenes. Only thing wrong is it starts to get a little bogged down in its own tenderness.
A truely moving film about how plp view and treat things differently from one another. Hopkins and Hurt's performamces are fantastic and a great film by one the masters of cinema in David Lynch
Its canny enough and some good scares. This did give birth to the slasher genre (even though it was Friday 13th,1980, which really kick-started it). However I think Carpenters Assault on Precinct 13(1976) and The Thing(1982) are by far his best work.
Look at all the beards fly! A great account of a historicly, bloody battle. Great performances from all the cast and extremley well shot and made. I fonly Hollywood could make war films as good as this and by the book.
Good remake. Strong performances from the cast. Excellent opening with the plane flying with the sun in the background and johnny cash's "I've been everywhere man" playing.
Brilliant adaptation of the book for screen. Bale is simply superb as Patrick Bateman. The supporting actors such as Leto,Mathis,Dafoe ect are also excellent. The dialogue is fast and free flowing. The way Bateman goes about things seeming normal in work hours yet at night has lustings to kill is fantastic.
A great movie. Brilliant action scenes, with some great lines such as "Eat This" and "Get away from her you bitch!" A quality sci-fi action/horror movie.
Fantastic film with Clint Eastwood in his other most iconic role (the other being the Man With No Name). Some great lines such as the .44 sppech and when Harry has to withdraw his gun and Scorpio says "My, thats a big one" Some great action sequences along with a strong performance from Andrew Robinson as the psychotic Scorpio.Kinda makes you wish there were more cops like Harry around.
Excellent war film based on the book of the same name by Alistair MacLean. Burton and Eastwood are at their best abley supported by Mary Ure. All round action, fun and adventure. Great film for a sunday afternoon.
Quality.Better than "Fistful of Dollars" but not as good as "Good,Bad and the Ugly". The duel at the end is amazing and full of tension. Van cleef excels in playing a man out 4 vengence and therefore bein in unusal role of not being the bad guy.
Works much better if seen as more of a comedy film than a horror one. Robert Englund camps up his performance and goes OTT as the mayor of a little southern town and is the most enjoyable thing about the film along with some great one liners. The deaths are canny and better than you see in some horror films.
One the best war/comedy movies out there. Sutherland's Oddball is best character in the whole film. Great cast who i dont tire of, and actually care for unlike in some movies. Great lines such as- "Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?" and "Always with the negative waves Moriarty, always with the negative waves." and "The reason you can't hear me is because you're firing your mortars at your end, and they're dropping here, on our end!". Overall its a must see as its just bloody great fun!!!!!
Amazing cult film and better than Fincher's other best film,Se7en. Wild and intense with fantastic performances from Ed Norton and Brad Pitt.
You must see this film.
Simply superb. Fonda is excellent as the vilainous Frank and Bronson is at his best as Harmanica. The rest of the cast give strong support to those two. The cinematography is beatuiful and the score by Morricone is unforgettable. The opening has to be one of the greatest in cinema history and the final stand-off between Frank and Harmonica is also excellent.
Amazing war film with no Hollywood rewriting of history or lies in sight. Fantasic cast with some brilliant fight dog-fight sequences. Extremley accurate film which shows both sides of the fighting really well.
