Eccentric yet ultimately engaging, this coming-of-age tale will have you thinking about death, loneliness, sex and make you laugh all at the same time.
It starts with what has to be one of the weirdest opening scenes of a film, but what you think might just be an overly erotic exploration of discovering sexuality turns out to be something a whole lot more. Nothing in this film hits clichà (C) or the familiar; almost everything is off-centre and fresh. The very human drama, played out with quiet melancholy by Ariane Labed & Vangelis Mourikis, is intersected by abstract and extremely humorous snippets of the eccentric behaviour within our heroine's only friendship. There is also a brief moment where the country of Greece is brought to the forefront itself; a character willing for one last act of defiance and means for change. The film itself, part of a new wave in Greek Cinema, could also be seen as an act of defiance in very melancholy, lonely and often eccentric times.
