The Shawshank Redemption 1994,  R)
The Shawshank Redemption
I could watch this movie over and over, and in fact I have. My bf leaves the room in disgust whenever it comes on, as he's sick of watching it.
2
Schindler's List 1993,  R)
Schindler's List
Liam Neeson's best performance. I just love the interaction between him and Ben Kingsley in this movie. I also love the little flashes of colour, in an otherwise black and white movie.
3
Good Will Hunting 1997,  R)
Good Will Hunting
A beautiful story that always makes me cry. All of the performances are amazing, especially Robin Williams and Matt Damon. The story and plot is also wonderfully done. There are just so many memorable moments in this movie, how can it not touch you in some way?
4
Last Night 1998,  R)
5
White Oleander 2002,  PG-13)
White Oleander
Such a beautiful movie, with great performances. I thought it was better than the book.
6
Stephen King's The Stand 2000,  Unrated)
Stephen King's The Stand
Very good adaption of one of Stephen King's longest novels. Doing it as a miniseries meant they could keep a lot more of the material in the movie, which is wonderful. There's a whole bunch of well known actors in here, and they all do a great job. Jamey Sheridan especially does a great job as Randall Flagg, one of King's best villains ever.
7
Stand by Me 1986,  R)
Stand by Me
One of the best Stephen King movies out there, also I'm sure not everyone realizes it's his work, just because there's no blood and gore. Classic lines, classic music, classic scenes, classic characters, what else do you need? A wonderful story about friendship and getting older and life.
8
Groundhog Day 1993,  PG)
9
Chaplin 1992,  PG-13)
Chaplin
Robert Downey's best role ever....everyone just does their absolute best in this movie. I love this movie!
10
Cube 1997,  R)
Cube
I love this movie, it's one of the best Canadian movies ever! It is so claustrophobic and creepy, and I love seeing how the characters act while their trapped together.

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer 2006,  R)
Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
So gorgeous and breathtaking, I could not take my eyes away from this movie. It is just so vivid and lush and full of life you can almost taste it, smell it and touch it yourself. The characters and acting are superb, and the plot moves you along at a brisk pace. The ending blew me away, I was not expecting it at all. I don't really understand it, but I'm sure with more viewings it would become clearer to me. I would totally recommend this movie to all my friends
12
Pan's Labyrinth 2006,  R)
Pan's Labyrinth
This movie is so dark and gorgeous, it's the perfect adult fantasy movie. On no account must you show this movie to children! I found the Pale Man terrifying, and the scenes of violence were bloody and shocking. I loved all the actors in this movie, they were all perfect, I especially loved the characters of Mercedes and Ofelia. The ending was sad, but I took the hopeful view of it. In conclusion, a beautiful fairy tale movie for adults!
13
Inception 2010,  PG-13)
Inception
This movie is wonderful, full of awesome ideas, breathtaking scenes, great writing and acting as well. Despite it clocking in over 2 hours, it never feels like it drags on, and you're surprised when the movie ends, as if to say, how did that much time pass so quickly? Joseph Gorden-Levitt and Ellen Page were standouts in the cast for me, when did they grow up so quickly? They are my new favorite actors. :) Everyone was brilliant in this movie, and I definitely recommend!
14
Watchmen 2009,  R)
Watchmen
Wow, I was just blown away by this movie! It was so faithful to the comic book. I liked all the casting, with a tiny exception to Matthew Goode.....He just didn't do it for me as Veidt. All the other actors were great, especially the one who played the Comedian and Jackie Earle Haley as Rorshach. I understand why they changed the ending, and I was surprised by how well it worked. It really does make sense! Really liked the music choices, except for Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah....it does not fix in that context. Loved the motage that played during the opening credits, I found it did a great job of explaining the reality that the movie takes place in, and what's happened in their past. Be warned, this is not a movie for the kiddies, or for anyone who likes their superheroes all campy and colorful. This is a movie for the adults, not the kids. I have to give this movie 5 stars, it was truly excellent! Zach Snyder did a great job of adapting this book into a movie.

Kill Bill: Volume 1 2003,  R)
Kill Bill: Volume 1
Such a cool movie, kept me glued to the seat the whole time! I loved Uma Thurman's character and all the others, and loved how the scenes all fit together nicely. Very graphic violence though, so be warned! My favorite scene is in the restaurant, just awesome!
16
Kill Bill, Volume 2 2004,  R)
Kill Bill, Volume 2
I liked how this movie goes into the background of the characters more, but there's so much more I wanted to know! Not as bloody as the first one, more drama scenes in it. The ending was a bit anti-climatic......but strangely fitting after I got used to it. I loved Daryl Hannah's character in this movie as well. So evil!
17
Resident Evil 2002,  R)
Resident Evil
Milla Jovovich is so cool in this movie! And so many scary moments, keeps you interested all the way through!
18
Resident Evil: Extinction 2007,  R)
Resident Evil: Extinction
This movie was awesome! Teriffic, action packed scenes, some great characters and moments and a cool ending. I hope there's a 4th one! Yeah, some plot holes of course and I didn't like that some characters got killed off, but still I really great movie.
19
Resident Evil - Apocalypse 2004,  R)
Resident Evil - Apocalypse
A cool movie that I really enjoyed! Milla Jovovich was awesome as usual....especially in her scenes with Nemesis. Had some unanswered questions at the end though, maybe they will be answered in the next movie. Liked all the supporting characters, and especially loved seeing Toronto's City Hall in the ending scenes!
20
Dawn of the Dead 2004,  R)
Dawn of the Dead
I enjoyed this movie alot, it was very fast paced and exciting! The acting was great, and the special effects were very believable. The plot could have been a little better.....there are some leaps of faith, but overall a good movie.

Where the Heart Is 2000,  PG-13)
Where the Heart Is
Really loved it, also better than the book. Yeah, it's a little cheesy in places, but really heartwarming and touching. Natalie Portman, James Frain and Ashley Judd are great in it.
25
Resident Evil: Afterlife 2010,  R)
Resident Evil: Afterlife
Another good installment of the Resident Evil movie series! Great action scenes of people kicking zombie ass (as well as the executioner, which is awesome). A very cool teaser ending that makes way for the next movie. You have to watch this in 3D, there are some cool scenes! Plot was okay too, as long as you suspend your mind and just go with it sometimes, lol. Good acting in this too, if a little cheesy at times. All in all, if you enjoyed the other movies, then you'll enjoy this one as well!
