Dawn of the Dead 2004,  R)
Dawn of the Dead
Arguably, no movie has had more influence on the horror movie genre than the original Dawn of the dead. So the remake definitely had some huge shoes to fill. And fill them it did. From the Heart stopping opening scene to the panicky end this movie did everything right. The acting was very good for a zombie movie.
2
Equilibrium 2002,  R)
Equilibrium
The only action movie to make my top six. And for good reason. The emotionless scenes are done very well but at some points feel awkward. Nevertheless the cast is top notch with raising star power Bale, Diggs, Watson, and Bean. The reason this movie scores better then the rest of the action movies is the originality of its action scenes. The ground Breaking Gun-kata fighting style is just plain amayzing. Throw in an intelligent story and you got yourself a 5 star movie.

The Hills Have Eyes 2006,  R)
The Hills Have Eyes
I totally fell in love with this awesomely disturbing movies. Having not seen the original I had nothing to compare it too, which was probably a good thing. The Acting was average at best, but that really doesn't matter in horror movies. The death scenes were done to a gruesome perfection. Every Scene is more brutal and scary than the one before it. Leading up to a BLOODY mess of a finish.
4
From Dusk Till Dawn 1996,  R)
From Dusk Till Dawn
Robert Rodriguez at his very best. And that is say alot with just that statment. The movie starts out as an innocent criminals on the run movie (A good one at that) but soon turns into an orgy of gore and violence (even better). Clooney, Lewis and even Tarantino all have their best performances to date.
5
Pet Sematary 1989,  R)
Pet Sematary
Being the best Stephen King Movie in my mind that makes it the King of KINGS. This movie has everything a horror movie fan likes. A Zombie like feeling, a creepy child, a black cat, And stephen king's name on the title. The child actor who played Gage did an excellent job. It makes you think would I try to save a loved one, but sometimes dead is better.
6
Identity 2003,  R)
Identity
In my mind this movie is perfect. Every actor did a great job from superstar John Cusack to the little known Pruitt Vince. The atmosphere is dark and gritty just the way I like it. Not one, but two big twists keep you guessing. And the deaths scenes were all well done. I have NOT one bad thing to say about this movie.
