Donnie Darko 2001,  R)
Donnie Darko
Well what can i say about this movie. Director Richard Kelly provides such a refreshing approach to the world of cinema with this time travelling cracker which is entertainingly weird to say the least and provides Jake Gyllenhaal with in my opinion one of his performances of his so far short career. Also has such a complex plot which has an amazing ending and the soundtrack is nothing short of amazing which includes the iconic Gary Jules hit Mad World. This movie simply has everything. In short, THE BEST MOVIE I HAVE EVER WATCHED!!!! FACT!!!

Crash 2005,  R)
Crash
this movie is an audience challenging, heart wrenching and brutally honest movie but so amazing. Every member of the cast delivers great performances. Worthy winner of best movie at Oscars!!!
3
The Last Kiss 2006,  R)
The Last Kiss
This was as terrific as i was expecting and a whole lot more. Far more watchable than all the cliche ridden romantic movies brought out this year. Zach Braff just seems to get stronger in terms of performance as the movie progresses and the ending is excellent which shows that you don't know what you got till its gone. Tony Goldwyn doesn't manipulate to make the audience to feel sorry for the characters and you can relate to them, which helps in terms of its realsitic approach towards love.
4
The Breakfast Club 1985,  R)
The Breakfast Club
definitely stands up as one of the best teen movies considerin all the poor recent attempts includin accepted and eurotrip. So Hilarious
5
Casino Royale 2006,  PG-13)
Casino Royale
I absolutely loved this. Daniel Craig was perfect for the role of Bond. The violence is more back to basics and the gadgetry has been axed and the movie is a whole lot better for it. Also Eva Green delivers a performance which breaks away from the traditional eye candy part by actually being involved. The movie event of the year!!!!!
6
Garden State 2004,  R)
Garden State
This is simply a coming of age drama which gives every actor within this movie to bring a top notch performance thanks to a powerful plot. Zach Braff fulfils his credentials as a major star with his balance of acting, writing and directing this movie and his co stars are just as good, notably Natalie Portman. A SPECIAL MOVIE!!
7
The Departed 2006,  R)
The Departed
This is Martin Scorsese at his most confident, reinterpreting the Hong Kong based movie Internal Affairs and turning it into a Irish Boston based revenge driven mob movie with twists aplenty. And what a remake!! Yes, the plot is hard to keep up to track with with so much 2 take in and so many double crossings during the movie, but Scorsese deals with the multi layered plot like the top professional he is. He gets feisty but marvellous performances by Dicaprio and Damon, also great support from Mark Wahlberg, his most polished turn in years. But the show stealer in this movie is the formidable presence that is Jack Nicholson. He delivers his lines with such venomous wit, its infectious. Saying that all the actors are done by a favour by a very articulate script. The volence is brutal in places but what you expect in a mob movie?? So this is not for the faint heartest of people. But if you miss out on this classic, you should be ashamed. Deserved winner of Best Film at The Oscars and finally the academy has recognised Scorseses work for Best Director, this is a bonafide modern classic and if this is Scorseses swansong to the genre of gangster movies, then he can leave it with his head held high. A CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE TO REMEMBER!!
