Over the top musical comedy that's totally silly and delightful to watch. Don't take it seriously, though, it's just a fun movie.

Urgh! A Music War 1981,  R)
Urgh! A Music War
Fantastic concert excerpts from great bands at the time, if you love 80s new wave bands, check this out for sure.

Clash of the Titans 1981,  PG)
Clash of the Titans
A nice fantasy film reminiscent of the 50s and 60s films like Jason and the Argonauts. There are many beautiful settings and cool special effects, even though some look a little silly, especially the robot owl. Overall, it's an okay movie.

The Cannonball Run 1981,  PG)
The Cannonball Run
Although this is just another one of the illegal road race across the country comedy movies, with the same plot as the others, it has a really good variety of stars. I mean, you get to see Jackie Chan fight Peter Fonda, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. arguing with Burt Reynolds and Dom DeLouie, etc. It's pretty cool, and the ending was unexpected. It's not the best road race movie, but it's one of the better ones, and I enjoyed it.

Streets of Fire 1984,  PG)
Streets of Fire
Strangely good, that's how I'd describe this movie. This films has a strange combination of genre conventions packed into it, it has elements of biker movies, action movies, westerns, romance, musical, comedy, drama, and even sci-fi. The story is set in a world where rock and roll is one of the most important things in life, a world that you could only create by taking 80s actors and transporting them to a set built in the 50s and then letting them run wild with their characters without telling them what time period it is. I mean, it seems like they're supposed to be in the 50s, but the film makers keep forgetting or something. This actually created a new world which actually works, and has a cool style. The songs are really good too. As weird as this movie was I actually really enjoyed it in the end.

Fire and Ice 1983,  PG)
Fire and Ice
Not Bakshi's best movie, actually it's kind of disappointing compared to his other films. I was expecting more in the way of blood and guts and sex and stuff like that, but it didn't happen. Sure the characters are all scantily clad, but there's no reason for it, and they look cold. Sometimes this movie got on my nerves because the princess kept getting captured and freed and captured and freed, enough's enough! Other than those problems, the story is pretty good for a fantasy movie, and the animation looks just as good as his other movies. Overall, it's okay, but disappointing after seeing his better known films.

Flash Gordon 1980,  PG)
Flash Gordon
A really fun, fantastic, exciting sci-fi adventure movie. I was expecting something very cheesy, but this wasn't at all cheesy. It has all the classic adventure elements, it looks good, and it's exciting. I wasn't sure how it was going to end. The only question I had was: how did Flash go from this to the superhero who runs fast?
