American Psycho 2000,  R)
American Psycho
To me, it's absolutely perfect. Infinitely rewatchable and quite possibly the best of Christian Bale's movies. Definitely my favourite.
2
Casino 1995,  R)
Casino
I love this movie. Joe Pesci at his absolute best. It's a masterpiece and the 3 hours just flies by. I owe Mike for introducing me to this. Definitely one of my favourites.
3
Chasing Amy 1997,  R)
Chasing Amy
Probably my favourite romantic comedy. Jason Lee is just brilliant and Ben Affleck is actually likeable. I especially love the last third of this movie. Just scene after scene of greatness.

Kaubôi Bibappu: Tengoku no Tobira (Cowboy Bebop the Movie: Knockin' on Heaven's Door) 2001,  R)
Kaubôi Bibappu: Tengoku no Tobira (Cowboy Bebop the Movie: Knockin' on Heaven's Door)
I love the soundtrack and the action sequences. And damn if I don't wanna be Spike Spiegel.
5
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind 2004,  R)
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
This is an amazing movie. I've always been a fan of Jim Carrey and this is just one of his best. If not, the best. You have to watch it.
6
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang 2005,  R)
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang
I love this movie and the only thing that keeps it from being perfect is one bad memory...
7
L.A. Confidential 1997,  R)
L.A. Confidential
I remember the first time I saw this film. It was cause I wanted to see Kevin Spacey's best movies. Then about thirty minutes in, I realized Russell Crowe and Guy Pearce, two guys I had never heard of at the time, were the main characters. It was kind of a letdown. Still, I ended up enjoying the flick since I thought Crowe kicked some serious ass. That was almost seven years ago. Now, after seeing 'Memento' and 'Gladiator' and a shitload of other movies, I watched it again but this time, for everyone involved in the movie. And it is fucking phenomenal. It really is just a masterpiece. I don't know how anyone can not like this movie. Everything, from the acting to the directing to the music, the sets, the costumes, the dialogue, the plot, the pacing, the humour, the action, the mystery, I loved all of it. The thing that I really like, though, is that much like 'Casino' (another favourite of mine), despite the fact that the movie is two hours and eighteen minutes long, I never once felt any of it. The movie just zips by and I was with it the whole way through. Just an amazing movie and definitely in my top ten.
8
Pulp Fiction 1994,  R)
Pulp Fiction
Perfect.
9
Rear Window 1954,  PG)
Rear Window
It was my first introduction to Grace Kelly but I didn't like it at first. Luckily, I saw it again and loved it more the second time. James Stewart kicks ass and Grace Kelly is just so damn beautiful. Probably my favourite Hitchcock film next to 'North By Northwest'.
10
Swingers 1996,  R)
Swingers
I didn't like this movie at first. Then I liked it and I became a huge fan of Vince Vaughn. Then I went through a break-up and this is now my bible. I love this movie.
11
The 40 Year Old Virgin 2005,  R)
The 40 Year Old Virgin
One of maybe four movies I will constantly rewatch just cause it's so damn enjoyable.
12
The Awful Truth 1937,  Unrated)
The Awful Truth
Officially one of my favourite Cary Grant films. Irene Dunne was amazing in this movie. She was funny, sexy, beautiful and just a joy to watch. I loved every minute of it. Cary Grant, as always, just kicks so much ass. The scene where he invites himself to a drink with Irene Dunne and Ralph Bellamy made me laugh for like 5 minutes. He just sits there and smiles while everyone else is uncomfortable. Classic moment. I loved this film. Oh yeah, the dog kicked ass too. Whenever they played hide and seek and he put his face in his paws. Genius.
13
Batman: The Movie 1966,  PG)
Batman: The Movie
That rating is just for sheer entertainment value. This is how a spoof should be. I laughed more times in this than in anything with Amanda Bynes in it. This movie is fucking great.
14
Brick 2006,  R)
Brick
I love the dialogue in this movie. Joseph Gordon-Levitt can be badass when he has short hair and is kicking some drugged up ass.
15
Bringing Up Baby 1938,  Unrated)
Bringing Up Baby
Katherine Hepburn is absolutely brilliant in this film. Her performance is hilarious and she's so damn beautiful even when she's crazy. Cary Grant is great, once again, even though he's the straight man in this movie and I just love every scene with him and Hepburn. This is just a really great, funny, wonderful movie.
16
Charade 1963,  G)
Charade
A bit slow-going the first half hour cause Cary Grant seems so subdued in the few scenes he's in. But once him and Audrey Hepburn get a good chemistry going, they just start kicking ass. I love their playful scenes and especially the ending. Great movie.
17
Clerks 1994,  R)
Clerks
Randal is my idol.
18
Clerks II 2006,  R)
Clerks II
One of the few great sequels and even fewer good ones that are decades apart.
19
The Departed 2006,  R)
The Departed
A great movie. Loved the finale and there's a lot of badass people in this. I also just love reading all the A-List actors in this film and then finally reaching Anthony Anderson. I actually like him more now after watching 'The Shield' but damn if it's not funny reading Jack Nicholson, Alec Baldwin, Martin Sheen then Anthony Anderson. Oh yeah, Boston accents kick ass.
20
Dial M for Murder 1954,  PG)
Dial M for Murder
I saw this for Grace Kelly but damn if Ray Milland doesn't kick ass as the villain. The ending is just great with Milland admitting defeat and having a drink. Just great stuff.
21
Dogma 1999,  R)
Dogma
My all-time favourite religious movie and probably my second favourite Kevin Smith movie.
22
Doomsday 2008,  R)
Doomsday
I totally fucking loved it. I mean, I like movies that fuck with your head and make you think as much as the next guy but I love movies that are just fun to watch and this movie was fun to watch. Yeah, it mixed a whole bunch of genres and kinda lost focus trying to cram in as many homages to past films as possible, but I was with it the whole way through. Hell, I loved it even from the opening scene where they had a kid who was shot in the eye. From that point on, I knew this movie was hardcore and wasn't fucking around. And it fucking delivered. Everyone who dies, dies a brutal fucking death and my God is it satisfying. That annoying fuck screaming on the hood of the car? The fucker gets run over and I cheered when I heard the satisfying crunch of his annoying body being mauled by a car. That's what I like in movies. Annoying characters getting what they deserve. Another plus is badass characters which this movie had in the form of the gorgeous Rhona Mitra. Besides being on the good end of my favourite kill in the movie, she looked so fucking hot doing it. Plus, I loved the eye camera. Another person I'd love to have on my side in a fight is Adrian Lester who kicked a whole mess of ass as Norton. The trifecta of awesomeness is completed by having a bunch of hot chicks present as well. Besides the aforementioned Ms. Mitra, we got Nora-Jane Noone who sounds so fucking sexy when she swears, Lee-Anne Liebenberg who's just about the only chick I thought looked beautiful despite being covered in tattoos, and of course, the lovely MyAnna Buring who I thought was gorgeous way back when I saw her on 'Doctor Who'. I realize this movie isn't for everyone but I love movies like this. Just balls to the wall, fast-paced, unrelenting and damned entertaining the whole way through. The heroes were great, the villains were great, the action was great and I loved the ending. I'm totally down for a sequel.
23
Dumb and Dumber 1997,  PG-13)
Dumb and Dumber
There's only a few differences between this version and the original but both are equally good.
24
The Godfather 1972,  R)
The Godfather
James Caan literally kicks ass in this film.
25
GoodFellas 1990,  R)
GoodFellas
Probably my favourite mobster movie. Everyone in this movie is at their best. Love Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci in this.
26
Grosse Pointe Blank 1997,  R)
Grosse Pointe Blank
Fucking loved it. Awesome soundtrack, one of John Cusack's best performances (and quite possibly my favourite), Minnie Driver's surprisingly sexy, non-British voice, Dan Aykroyd in a great supporting role, Joan Cusack not being annoying, Alan Arkin downplaying it like a champ, Hank Azaria making a welcome appearance and the great Jeremy Piven, once again being the perfect companion to Cusack. The action scenes were well executed, the dialogue pretty damn funny and the basic premise intriguing on its own but helped immensely by the actors. Just a damn good film.
27
Happy Gilmore 1996,  PG-13)
Happy Gilmore
Sandler's best movie. Too much classic stuff. You jackass!
28
Heavy Metal 1981,  R)
Heavy Metal
Wow, this came as a complete surprise. I loved this movie. It was entertaining throughout, it had a badass soundtrack, awesome stories, great characters, fantastic animation, the score was legend and it was just a damn good time. Now about the nudity, it was pretty much unnecessary but it was cool that they had it cause it just gave the stories a more realistic feel. Especially when Taarna was captured cause it made sense that they wouldn't give her a chance to conceal any weapons (although with her outfit, she wouldn't be able to anyways). The point is, it doesn't take anything away from the movie and just adds to the enjoyment factor. Not to mention it covered a wide variety of genres. Noir, fantasy, con games, trial, war, zombie, horror, extraterrestrial, comedy, action, romance and epic all to the tune of rocking heavy metal. Amazing movie. If I had to choose a favourite story, I'd have to say 'Harry Canyon' just cause of how badass he was. Plus I love noir. Although 'Taarna' would be a close second next to 'Den of Earth.'
29
Hot Tamale 2006,  R)
Hot Tamale
I really dug it a lot. It's fast-paced, always entertaining and although it's not the most original movie ever, I found a lot to like. Always been a fan of Mike Starr and he's pretty damn funny in this. Randy Spelling was also surprisingly likable as the lead. Carmen Electra is the only one whose story wasn't fully developed and didn't seem completely necessary. In fact, I would've been just fine with the entire movie focused on Harlan and Tuesday's relationship. Diora Baird pretty much makes this movie for me since she's not only insanely hot and sexy but she's just so fucking fun to watch. Definitely worth checking out just for her.

In Search of a Midnight Kiss 2007,  Unrated)
In Search of a Midnight Kiss
I fucking loved it. Awesome soundtrack, beautifully shot, funny and interesting dialogue, two great leads and it perfectly encapsulates my feelings on love. Definitely a great film that I can't wait to see again.
31
Knocked Up 2007,  R)
Knocked Up
I loved this movie. And you know what? It was still great the second time I saw it. Seth Rogen is my hero.
32
Liar Liar 1997,  PG-13)
Liar Liar
Probably my second favourite Jim Carrey movie ever. He's just at the top of his game and carries the entire movie. Plus Maura Tierney is just cute as hell and even the kid wasn't as annoying as he could've been. Also, Jennifer Tilly is fucking gorgeous for a chick with short hair.
33
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels 1999,  R)
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Got me into Brits...nice quotable lines and Jason Statham kickin' ass.
34
The Long Goodbye 1973,  R)
The Long Goodbye
Elliott Gould is so friggin' badass. I love this movie. It's damn funny and even though it wasn't intended, has probably the single greatest cameo ever. I won't ruin it, it's that good.
35
The Lookout 2007,  R)
The Lookout
Amazing performances. I came damn close to tears when Gordon-Levitt was speeding down Route 24 and remembering the accident. Just an awesome movie with some great moments and amazing acting. Jeff Daniels kicks ass.
36
Mallrats 1995,  R)
Mallrats
Jason Lee makes this movie amazing.
37
My Cousin Vinny 1992,  R)
My Cousin Vinny
One of my favourite movies growing up. Joe Pesci is hilarious, Marisa Tomei is hot as hell and the movie's just damn entertaining.
38
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist 2008,  PG-13)
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist
Maybe I was just in the right state of mind while watching this flick but I really liked it. The two leads are awesome, Nick's best friends and bandmates are also pretty awesome for helping the two of them get together, Norah's friend has a few funny moments and it's all underlined with an amazing soundtrack. Definitely not for everyone as there are quite a few cheesy moments and the music may not be to everyone's liking. But even with those caveats, I thought it was worth it just to see more of Kat Denning's awesome cleavage. Hearing her fake an orgasm was also a plus.
39
North by Northwest 1959,  Unrated)
North by Northwest
Probably my favourite Hitchcock film of all time. Cary Grant is badass and his scenes with Eva Marie Saint are great. I love their first conversation on the train though I don't know why. Classic.
40
Notorious 1946,  Unrated)
41
Ocean's Eleven 2001,  PG-13)
Ocean's Eleven
Damn, this movie's great.
42
Once Bitten 1985,  PG-13)
Once Bitten
It's a cheesy 80s comedy starring one of my favourite actors of all time. Totally up my alley. I'm a fan of Jim Carrey, Karen Kopins, 80s music and vampires so it's no wonder I fucking loved it. Aside from Carrey's redheaded friend and a few of the vampire extras, I liked pretty much everyone in the flick. They all have a line of dialogue or a little moment that made me laugh. Coupled with the dance scene and the awesome relationship between Carrey and Kopins, I can easily overlook the fact that the vampires don't bother to kill anyone in the flick. Definitely not for everyone but I like what I like.
43
Out of Sight 1998,  R)
Out of Sight
Probably my favourite Elmore Leonard movie. It's just so damn entertaining.
44
Reservoir Dogs 1992,  R)
Reservoir Dogs
That diner scene is one of the best scenes ever.
45
Rounders 1998,  R)
46
The Rules of Attraction 2002,  R)
The Rules of Attraction
James Van Der Beek kicks so much ass in this movie and Kate Bosworth has never been hotter. This movie is friggin' awesome.
47
Running Scared 2005,  R)
Running Scared
Fucking loved the shit out of this flick. Paul Walker turns in a great show, Vera Farmiga manages to be fucking badass while looking damn sexy and even the kids didn't annoy me. Loved the vibe throughout the whole thing, the directing was great, the story, while relying on some cliched plot points and coincidental happenings, still managed to deliver some fucking awesome and memorable scenes and everything just worked for me. Definitely my kind of movie. Loved every minute of it.
48
Scarface 1983,  R)
Scarface
Quotable as hell. That scene with Pacino being drunk is what acting's all about.
49
Serenity 2005,  PG-13)
Serenity
How can you not like this movie? It's genius is what it is.
50
Street Fighter 1994,  PG-13)
Street Fighter
That rating is based solely on entertainment value. There are so many funny quotes and great shit in this movie. Pretty much everything Raul Julia says is awesome, Van Damme gives one of the greatest speeches of all time and the casting of all the characters is damn near fucking perfect. Blanca should've been more buff, though. I mean, hearing the computer say "muscle mass increasing by 70%", you expect some fucking muscles on the guy but when you see the skinny dude pop out, it just adds to the comedy. Not only does this hold fond memories but it's just so much fun to watch. It's not a good movie in the traditional sense but when you take into account how funny the movie is when you just let all of that shit go, you'll enjoy it so much more. I know I did.
51
The Sure Thing 1985,  PG-13)
The Sure Thing
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I like this better than 'Say Anything'. In that movie, it took a while for it to grow on me and the whole romantic aspect was hampered by the subplot of Diane's father going to jail. In this movie, the focus is on the two leads and that's what make this movie great. John Cusack is just awesome as always but the big treat was Daphne Zuniga. That's right, Princess Vespa, who I sorta liked in 'Spaceballs' was amazing in this movie. In fact, I know the exact moment I knew I loved this film. Gib had just heard Alison on the phone with her boyfriend so he goes out, finds a bar and gets drunk. He comes back into the motel room, fails to juggle and collapses on the bed. What does Alison do? She tucks him in and for a brief moment, just looks at him and smiles. I wish I could say what I want to but I can't so I'll just say that that moment is on the list of things I want to happen to me. Just fucking amazing. Yeah, the movie's a bit cliche but it's actually funny. When they leave their money in the motel room, I thought the movie would turn to shit like most movies where "everything goes wrong". Luckily, it was only a small part of the movie and is soon resolved. As for the supporting cast, definitely some decent material but the real stars are Gib and Alison. Although I will say and I never thought I'd ever say this but Nicolette Sheridan looked downright fucking gorgeous. Maybe it was the way she asked Gib "Would you like me to do that" but she was fucking awesome. I literally wanted Gib to somehow get both girls in a threeway. Just a great, little movie. I don't know what it is but between this and 'Juno', there might be hope for romantic comedies yet.
52
Ten Inch Hero 2008,  R)
Ten Inch Hero
I totally fucking loved it. Aside from Tad and Brad, who were complete assholes, I dug each and every one of the main cast members. My favourites being the always awesome Jensen Ackles, playing it slightly different but rocking tons of cool shirts, Daneel Harris, who was such a complete whore but still managed to be likable and Elisabeth Harnois, who I just fell in love with. She's fucking gorgeous. Everyone else had their moments too. The story wasn't anything special but the dialogue made me smile on more than one occasion and at the end of it, it just left me with a good feeling. Can't ask for much more than that.
53
To Catch a Thief 1955,  Unrated)
To Catch a Thief
I love this movie for two reasons. It made me a fan of Cary Grant and made me fall in love with Grace Kelly.
54
Tombstone 1993,  R)
Tombstone
Brilliant performances by pretty much everyone in the flick, which includes a helluva lot of recognizable faces, my favourites being Kilmer, Russell and Biehn. I fucking loved this movie. Probably the first Western I liked, too. Just brilliant.
55
True Romance 1993,  R)
True Romance
Turned me into a Christian Slater fan. And James Gandolfini owns while getting owned. Gary Oldman, as always, kicks ass.
56
Vanilla Sky 2001,  R)
57
The Way of the Gun 2000,  R)
The Way of the Gun
I truly believe this movie was made for me. It's got so many things that I love; awesome dialogue, amazing shootouts, badass characters, an engaging plot, brilliant music, clever framing, an homage to my second-favourite Western of all time and annoying characters getting what they deserve. But more than that, there aren't really any downright annoying characters in this flick. Aside from a few one-offs that didn't really add much, I vibed to pretty much the whole ensemble. And even though they're not my favourite actors, everyone did an awesome job. You've got Taye Diggs and Nicky Katt fucking up with style, a pregnant Juliette Lewis rocking a shotgun, James Caan being what I envisioned an older Sonny Corleone might've been like and one of the most unlikely pairings I've ever seen being fucking brilliant together. I've been a fan of Benicio Del Toro for as long as I've liked movies and the dude just never disappoints. However, Ryan Phillipe is fucking with him every step of the way. From the opening scene where he proves how badass he can be, to the final shootout where he gets broken bottles tearing through his arm and yet, still manages to carry a bag full of money, the dude was just on his fucking game. The second I saw that set from 'Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid', I knew something special was gonna happen and it fucking delivered. The fact that all the bullets were accounted for just gave that shootout an extra level of depth at how brilliantly it was filmed. The second the movie was over, I couldn't wait to see it again. One of the most underrated films I've ever seen. It's fucking tremendous.
58
The Wedding Singer 1998,  PG-13)
The Wedding Singer
I love the 80s and this movie. Even Drew Barrymore can't ruin it. One of Sandler's best.
59
Zack and Miri Make a Porno 2008,  R)
Zack and Miri Make a Porno
Obviously, I fucking loved it. Quotable lines, non-stop hilarity for the first hour or so and nudity, lots and lots of nudity. it was pre-ordained that I'd like this movie. But with that said, I did have a few problems with it. First up, the running time. I know Kevin Smith said everything he wanted to be in the movie is in the movie and hasn't been cut due to the MPAA forcing him to make cuts to get it from an NC-17 to an R but it still felt way too short for me. I don't know what it is but when you've got Jeff Anderson, Jason Mewes, Craig Robinson, Katie Morgan and Traci Lords, not to mention the cameos by Brandon Routh, Justin Long, Tom Savini, Tyler Labine and Gerry Bednob, you're gonna need a shitload of time to give everyone their due. Now in the case of the last five, it's understandable that they've only got one scene each since they're cameos but the first five are part of the supporting cast. I mean, yeah, they each get their moment to shine but I just felt like there wasn't enough scenes with them actually speaking. Especially the View Askew regulars. There's a scene in the movie where the cast and crew of the porno pay off a month's worth of bills for Zack and Miri so they can get their water and electricity back and it's a pretty awesome moment. Unfortunately, there isn't much behind the action since we barely got to see them connect with the two leads up to that point. Instead we get like four or five different scenes where Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks keep telling each other shit won't change if they have sex. And while I do like the two of them, I couldn't help but yearn for another scene with Deacon, Stacy or Lester. Which brings me to another problem, one-shot jokes. Shit like Traci Lords' special ability didn't serve any purpose besides the one gag in the trailer and the same goes for Jason Mewes' talent. I kept waiting for a callback or something to happen where they bring it up again but they never did. Aside from that, though, the only other problems I got with the movie is I think the pacing was a bit off and the ending kinda dragged (luckily, it's saved by Jason Mewes). Craig Robinson's inspirational speech could've been better, especially if they had a few one-liners from Jeff Anderson like at the end of 'Clerk II' where Jay keeps making jokes while Dante and Randal argue. The message was fine and all but it just felt really forced and unnatural, which made it sound way too cheesy. Plus, again, the lack of moments between the two leads and the other five kinda took a lot of the impact away when he started listing how the porno changed their lives. All in all, it really makes me anxious to see the DVD, especially if it has the extended cut before the MPAA told Kevin Smith to change it. However, the movie still fucking delivered. I loved most of the cast (minus Ricky Mabe since he reminds me of someone I know and I hate that asshole), I loved the soundtrack, pretty much every joke worked, the premise was fantastic to begin with, the nudity was nicely implemented and having seen it twice, it definitely holds up upon second viewing. As soon as the montage hit, though, where Zack and Miri are bringing the crew together and trying to come up with the name, I knew the movie was moving too fast and would be over before I knew it. And it was. Now that doesn't stop me from thinking the movie was fucking fantastic and loving every minute of it. I just wish there was more of it to love.
