Love and Basketball 2000,  PG-13)
Love and Basketball
This movie combines two of the things that matter to me the most, love and basketball and tells it in an unbelievably romantic and heartfelt way. This movie reinforces the notion of having a soulmate and being able to reignite a love that never went out.

The Wood 1999,  R)
The Wood
What I love about this movie is that it shows the story of friends growing up and the bad things they get into during it before proceeding with a modern day wedding. They tell it so well that it's like being at the wedding live watching a slideshow. There's a lot a guy goes through in becoming a man and this movie shows a lot of it.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse 2010,  PG-13)
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Eclipse is my favorite in the series because there's more action, less filler, and the characters are finally given a backstory, although several things almost stopped this movie from being one of all-time favorites. For starters what Jacob feels for Bella is obsession not love. It takes a drama queen to avoid her at the beginning of the movie, force her to kiss, and threaten her with suicide. Unfortunately Bella is not that much more mature than he is. She is as much a teenager as he is for choosing to be a vampire when it simply defeats the purpose of Edward protecting her. That kind of logic is like if you were to hand over your wallet to avoid getting your money stolen or jumping off a cliff to avoid an enemy. Furthermore Bella is a hypocrite for warning a warewolf of danger that she is even less prepared to tackle. I'm not one to compare different vampire book series because they're each to be liked for what they are but I can't help but prefer The Vampire Diaries for Elena not always depending on Stefan or always approving of everything he does. Bella is not exactly a selfless role model by putting her father in danger, turning her back on her family, or thirsting for blood for thousands of years. Even though I prefer Taylor Lautner as an actor to Robert Pattinson, at least I can say I admire Edward a little bit more for allowing Bella to make her own choices as opposed to Jacob telling her who to love. Other more minor issues are Dakota Fanning's acting (she sounded more like a kid than a person from that time or from a book) and the story focusing so much on Victoria instead of the Volturi. Overall though if you're a fan of vampires or of romance this movie will make you continue to like those book and movie genres even more. After not being able to resist reading about what happens in Breaking Dawn (I wonder what the 5th movie will be called) I can safely say that Eclipse will continue to be my favorite movie in the Twilight Saga.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon 2009,  PG-13)
The Twilight Saga: New Moon
I like New Moon because Twilight had already taken care of introducing the characters so New Moon gets to be more story driven and I especially love how Bella gets closer to Jacob in this one. What also helped this movie is my lifelong fascination of vampires.

Bandslam 2009,  PG)
Bandslam
On the surface this movie seems to be about the music but what I love about this movie is that deep down it touches on a lot of good lessons including clique stereotypes, not to judge a book by its cover, not to judge or underestimate someone, to face and own up to your own past and mistakes, girls needing to give nice guys a chance, and to balance having a crush and having friends. Vanessa Hudgens proves that she's more than just a Disney actress by portraying the excentric and complex yet very down to earth and likeable Sa5m. Sa5m thinks outside the box so much that it's what makes her so original and the things that are odd about Sa5m (like the silent 5 in her name to her need to question reality) are what makes me want a girl like her. The whole cast is underrated. I went straight to complimenting Alyson Michalka's acting and singing then it wasn't until after I watched the movie did I realize that Alyson Michalka was Aly from Aly & AJ, leaving me speechless and impressed.

Fast & Furious 2009,  PG-13)
Fast & Furious
The best one in the series in my opinion. It's refreshingly very story driven while still managing to include enough street racing.
