I had heard mixed reviews about this film, but when i left the theatre there was only one thought on my mind: This is the best film of the year. Zack Snyder has made the impossible and has every right to be called "visionary" for this masterpiece. Think Dark Knight meets 300 meets The Matrix. The acting is top notch, with Haley being the most memorable as the troubled Rorschach. The movie is a complex tragedy with moral dilemas about this fucked up world we now live in. I loved every minute of this movie. Think about what the Comedian always thought when the movie's over and you'll have yourself a laugh.
Christoper Nolan's The Dark Knight may very well be considered the greatest comic book adaptation to date, because this is not just your average action friendly comic book adaptation, this is a a REAL Hero movie.
This film goes in depth into the moral dilemmas our society has to face, the true face of evil, and maybe the ocassional good guy/hero.
The film is an absolute masterpiece.
First off, Heath Ledger is a wonder to behold as Batman's other half, his performance is worth the price of admission alone.
He gives a Tour de Force as The Joker, and I think anyone in their right mind wouldn't dare disagree that he deserves at least an ACADEMY AWARDS nomination.
But thats not the only highlight of this film. The direction is marvelous, and the cinematography is just, wow, out of this world. Nolan's cinematographer is the same that worked with him in his 2 previos movies(The Prestige and Batman Begins) which they both got OSCAR noms for best cinematography. He doesnt let us down this time.
This film is certainly darker than the 1st one, and it has a lot more drama in it. One part in particular is extremely heartbreaking, and made me even shed a tear.
In all this chaos, only the Caped Crusader is able to somehow deal with the situation, but at what cost?
That's what the Joker asks him during the entire movie. "Are you able to break your 1 rule to save them?"
The depths that this movie has, its unlike any I've ever seen in a comic book adaptation. This is the real deal. No flying in to save the girl at the last minute, no petty villains, no happy endings.
I think after this movie, others that are soon to follow are going to try and achieve what Christoper Nolan has achieved with this one, a movie that you will not only enjoy, but it will also make you ponder on society itself. AMAZING
I could just say that this is one of the best films I have ever seen and stop there. But I need to say that this is much more than just a great film. It's a beautiful masterpiece,a touching and moving story, and overall a movie that deserves our respects. Not too many people will enjoy this movie, since it doesnt have that many action. But those who will know how to enjoy a good movie. Emile Hirsch became one of my fave actors after seeing him in this film. He's perfect as Christopher McCandless, aka Alexander Supertramp.
The movie has lots of quotes that inspire you, make you cry, make you laugh. I fell in love with what Chris was trying to do. I understand him,and its heartbreaking the end he encountered, but at least he found the truth of life,so to speak. HAPPINESS ONLY REAL WHEN SHARED. i gotta say, when that scene came up, i couldnt help but cry....
Overall, this is the 2nd greatest film I have seen. A powerful inspiring and beautiful film. See it,and you wont regret it.
LOL. I had no idea I was going to enjoy this film as much as I did! this is hilarious and cute!! I had the biggest smile on my face while watching it. And Amanda Crew,oh amanda how cute you are. This movie was just great.
I felt happier after watching this movie. This movie should have won the Academy Award, being one of the sweetest movies i have ever seen. Ellen Page as Juno is absolutely brilliant, u cant help but fall in love with her from the first scene. Juno may be one of the best if not THE best comedy i have seen. The dialogue is witty funny and heartwarming. There are scenes u laugh because someone says something funny but without trying to. The characters are so full of life. I can honestly say that after watching Juno, i felt different, and few movies can accomplish that. This is a definite classic.
What a triumph!! Kudos to Danny Boyle for this amazing achievement. This movie is going to be a classic for years to come. A heartbreaking tragedy, but also an uplifting victory,Slumdog is one of those rare movies that dont come too often. With great performances,an amazing score and a perfect storyline, this is a movie everyone will enjoy.
WOW! I loved this film. Sweeney Todd is simply a terrific movie, tragic, heartbreaking and violent, but amazing nevertheless. I dont know how this movie got snubbed at the Academy Awards, its a 1000 times better than No Country...
The acting is splendid, as well as everything else. There's a twist ending, that i thought was too sad, but it could not end any other way. Its like those grek tragedies, u love em even though they break ur heart. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS FILM TO EVERYONE WANTING TO SEE ONE OF THE BEST FILMS EVER.
I just watched this movie for the 2nd time, and i felt compelled to write a better review of this film.
This movie is definetely one of the best movies I have ever seen. Eveything about it is beautiful. I absolutely loved every second of this film.Dark, violent and realistic, this is no kiddies fairy tale. This is the real deal. Capitan Vidal is one of the worst villains ever to grace the screen. The story, acting, visuals and directing are breathtaking. Guillermo del Toro puts so much passion in every shot in this movie, its a pleasure to watch. This is for sure a classic in world cinema.
So far,one of the best movies I have seen this year, Forgetting Sarah Marshall is funny, cute, sweet and at times sad. I had been waiting to see this movie for quite some time now,and it was well worth the wait. I fell in love with this movie, the first 15 minutes were not that great but then it took off and never let go. An absolute joy to watch. I really really enjoyed every scene, specially the ones where Sarah and Peter are talking about their past relationship, its sad and hearbreaking but there's always something to make us laugh. This movie is definitely going up there with my favorite movies of all time. Even though I didnt laugh as much as I did watching SUPERBAD, i like this one better. A must see for everyone!
