Farris is my HERO!! My favorite movie of all times has a character that has everything many people think is the ideal to be popular. But I like Ferris not because of his popularity but for his bliss. The way he sees life is so exciting which makes he want to experience everything is his life and urges us to try as well. Ferris is Cameron's best friend and hero. I heard once a "theory" that actually Ferris has never existed but in Cameron imagination, because Cameron is a depressed guy descouraged in life and very opressed by the rigorous lifestyle imposed by his parents and Ferris is everything he's ever wanted to be. It's not a simple 80's teenage movie, it's classical and great.
