A one-of-a-kind vampire film. Without force, it finds harmony between horror and romance; effortlessly it normalizes gore and converts the audience to the dark side. There are so many gems to pick: the mood of stillness and coldness, the sense of outcast, the music score, the outstanding acting, the ending... Best of all is all the parts involving the father - it honestly and brutally displays the most fundamental nature of a parent (giver) and a child (taker), and you can't blame either! It's a film that makes you queasy while falling helplessly in love with it. |
