V for Vendetta
The action and dialog will leave you speechless.
2
Watchmen 2009,  R)
Watchmen
A long, refreshing drink of water after a long drought. I was very satisfied with how Zack Snyder stayed as close to the comics as he possibly could. He added in some very astounding visual effects as well as a good number of heart-pounding fight scenes that quenched your thirst for these Super Heroes in their most brilliant form. I'm actually quite happy with the cuts he made to the story, and even the changes he made, as vague as some of them were. I am not a LONG TIME fan of Watchmen as some of these other people seem to be, but I've still been waiting a year to see this, and I have to say, BINGO!
3
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas 1998,  R)
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Hunter S Thompson's best story and most spectacular tale of drugs, alcohol, and mutiny! Recommended for the open-minded.
4
The Nightmare Before Christmas 1993,  PG)
5
The Incredible Hulk 2008,  PG-13)
The Incredible Hulk
I really enjoyed this movie, in fact I enjoyed it TO DEATH! I'm sorry folks, but they put every single role to some of my favorite actors and everyone did great. This was far better than the first one in every aspect. They even did a great foreshadowing for the villain "Leader"! Thank you, Leterrier, some day I hope to return the favor.
6
Batman 1989,  PG-13)
Batman
Also one of my first FAVORITE MOVIES!!! Beats the hell out of every other Batman movie PERIOD!!!
7
Wanted 2008,  R)
Wanted
Definitely deserves the title of best action flick of 2008. I was enthralled to see all of the things that these assassins could pull off. I also loved basically all of the characters, even the ones who were there just to beat the crap out of our hero. Though I kind of saw the reveal coming some ways through the movie, it was still very well pulled off and very vague, but it was still there from the beginning. Angelina Jolie does what she does best, and that's being completely and totally hot. Aside from that she pulled off her character very nicely. I found myself laughing and enjoying the action more and more through out. It's even better than Hitman.

The Dark Half
A movie I can watch over and over again.
17
Hot Rod 2007,  PG-13)
Hot Rod
Wow, seriously, this movie has introduced a whole new kind of crazy to cinema as we know it. It starts out so subtle but then everything just starts to get crazier and crazier. I really enjoyed watching this movie a lot. Way more than I expected, hell I'd even buy this movie if so many other movies weren't in front of it. This movie is definitely that of kick-ass stature!
18
Kill Bill: Volume 1 2003,  R)
Kill Bill: Volume 1
Was my favorite movie for a number of years. But then I saw V for Vendetta.
19

Spider-Man
I loved this film, mostly because I'm a Spider Man fan since childhood
20
Sukiyaki Western Django 2007,  R)
Sukiyaki Western Django
Weird is a word that comes to mind; weird and completely unhinged. But I have to admit, I enjoyed almost every single scene in this movie. Though it was very grungy, and in some ways very realistic, it still had a very UNrealistic side. The unrealistic side seemed to bring a good tone to the movie in its action sequences. The performances from many of the co-starring cast (namely Mr. Tarantino) were quite eccentric but still very entertaining. Out of all of the characters, the leader of the Genji was perhaps my very favorite, he was seriously kick ASS with out even seeming to care. This has to be one of my very favorite japanese live-action movies. Though the plot was completely paper-thin, it was still a very unique work of art. My hats off to Mr. Miike.
21
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2003,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Beautiful film, though a bit long
22
The Dark Knight 2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight
This was indeed worth all of the hype, the glamor, and the anticipation. They pulled this all off, and they did it very well and with the utmost confidence. However, it was all relying on the greatness and the absolute superb performance of the late, great Heath Ledger. Don't get me wrong, the rest of the movie was well done other than a few neck-breaking camera moves from the crew and a few extras that sucked at acting. But Heath really brought the entire movie to the level of entertainment that will surprise and completely delight the vast majority. It was his performance that earned this rating from me and the rest of Flixster. The action scenes were hard-hitting, and the sequencing was very well done. Now where's Batman 3?
23
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 2002,  PG-13)
24
300 2007,  R)
300
THE war movie! The battle scenes are absolutely breath-taking, the acting is superb, and the dialog was profound! I can definitely see what all of the hype is about.
25
Pulp Fiction 1994,  R)
26
UHF 1989,  PG-13)
UHF
Perhaps one of the most underrated funny movies of all time. I don't believe I've laughed so hard since Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
27
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001,  PG-13)
28
Iron Man 2008,  PG-13)
Iron Man
A great new step in Super Hero Cinema! I loved this movie from start to finish! Jeff Bridges played a very snake-like character that was great for a villain, but Robert Downey Jr. was perhaps the best pick for Iron Man! I loved his great character flaws that were so obviously showing but never got in the way of the story. The only thing I could say that would make this movie better is if they had brought in Terrence Howard as War Machine, instead they just alluded to it which was still good anyway. This is definitely one to see in the theaters!

The Fifth Element 1997,  PG-13)

The Kentucky Fried Movie 1977,  R)
The Kentucky Fried Movie
Some of the funniest skits and sketches I have ever seen. Unfortunately it had somewhat of a weak ending.
53
Grandma's Boy 2006,  R)
Grandma's Boy
Oh my God, this movie is soooooo funny! I could not control my laughter, especially at the parts with Peter Dante! However, on a not so good note, the villain, JP is just a little too exaggerated.
54
Carrie 1976,  R)
55
The Exorcist III 1990,  R)
The Exorcist III
George C. Scott is, as always, brilliant in dialog and acting in this movie. The plot is nice and twisting, different from the other movies but keeps in line with the story. Definitely a thumbs up.
56
The Pink Panther 2006,  PG)
The Pink Panther
A stand up performance by Steven Martin and a Brilliant role of Jean Reno. Kevin Kline also deserves props for this.
57
Suspect Zero 2004,  R)
Suspect Zero
I saw this in theaters with my Dad. We both absolutely loved the subject matter of Remote Viewing, and we both fell directly into the fantasy of the entire spiel! This movie is recommended for those with a taste for the demented!
58
Saving Private Ryan 1998,  R)
59
Spider-Man 2 2004,  PG-13)
Spider-Man 2
Good Movie! Lots of good action. But Peter's story is too drawn out.
60
Spider-Man 3 2007,  PG-13)
Spider-Man 3
VERY good action sequences with way better choreography than either of the other two. It did well with mixing comic-into-movie but they underplayed Venom, a lot. That still didn't stop him from kicking ass though. It's very funny, but at the end of the movie they show some way dramatized scenes that kind of press on a little too long. Other than that, I give it four and a half stars!
61
Fanboys 2007,  PG-13)
Fanboys
If you are a Star Wars fan, hardcore, then this movie is definitely for you. If you're a "Trekker", I would just rent another Star Trek movie. They did a very good amount of wildly crazy Star Wars jokes that will leave you taken. Though some of the scenes were a little digressed with the crazy nature of its genre, it did not fly too far off the handle. Seth Rogan does an excellent job with his multiple characters with very different performance values and characteristics. Definitely one for the Star Wars vault of movies.
62
Transformers 2007,  PG-13)
Transformers
I loved this movie a lot! My only complaint is that it deviated from the series a little too much in some cases. But I definitely loved it.
63
The Simpsons Movie 2007,  PG-13)
The Simpsons Movie
A stunning come-back! These people really put forth their whole effort into this one piece of 1 hour and 15 minutes. I must applaud their great writing, and great quality to the animation itself. A definite DVD masterpiece.
64
Assassins 1995,  R)
Assassins
An action movie that is definitely worth the 10 bucks to buy it! I loved Antonio's performance and character! However, Robert Raff's greatness was over-played.
65
Monty Python's And Now for Something Completely Different 1971,  PG)
66
Frailty 2002,  R)
Frailty
Wow, I really didn't expect it to be this good. I've always like Bill Paxton, but he really outdid himself this time, starring and directing such a masterpiece of a movie. The plot is beautifully detailed and the children's characters draw you straight into the story itself. A definite masterpiece!
67
Patton 1970,  PG)
68
Sling Blade 1996,  R)
Sling Blade
A very inspired movie. Billy Bob Thornton is a stand-out lead, as is John Ritter. The characters in this movie are realistic, and the plot is very well drawn out. Though the ending could have been a little better, this is still a great film!
69
The Ninth Gate 1999,  R)
70
The Boondock Saints 2000,  R)
The Boondock Saints
I absolutely loved this movie from start to finish. Some very good dialog, some great fight scenes, and some kick ass characters. I loved the story behind the two brothers and how the story progressed. I mean there is really something very poetic about just waking up one morning and saying "I'm going to be a hit man!" I give this movie five stars well-deserved.
71
Ninja Scroll 1986,  Unrated)
72
Live Free or Die Hard 2007,  PG-13)
Live Free or Die Hard
A very long, but very good movie! I loved it! The action sequences were all brought like 2 steps forward. The sequences did not take too long, nor were they too few or far in between. It was a very well planned, and very expensive movie from what I gather. Though I kinda wish it were shorter because I was watching it so late, don't miss out on this awesome fricken Action Adventure! It is worth the Block Buster rental price and more!
73
Ocean's Eleven 2001,  PG-13)
Ocean's Eleven
A God-send of its time. One of the most plot-twisting, nail-bitingly suspenseful robbery movies of its time. The cleverness of this movie is only out-classed by its star-studded cast of hypnotically crazy outlaws. This movie was at least ten times better than the Rat Pack version, while that one had its own charms. If you have not seen this, then it is required that you do.
74
Ocean's Thirteen 2007,  PG-13)
Ocean's Thirteen
Ahhh the good old gang is back to their old tricks again. I mean their old OLD tricks. Not the sequel! It is so much better than the sequel. But I would rank this as the same rank of the first one. Though it bared some similarities, they had FAR FAR less control over this villain that they faced. And there was much more at stake here. Al Pacino is a great addition to the Ocean's Eleven villains! I love his character and the way he is dangerous in a very inward way. I somewhat liked Julia Roberts and I wish she were in this one too, but I guess she was either busy or didn't like the second one. Do NOT miss this movie this Tuesday at Block Buster!
75
Donnie Darko 2001,  R)
Donnie Darko
A quite puzzling movie, but also very deep and imaginative. It is a very good way of describing the dilemmas we as humans face in our own psyches and our own times. It also calls into question the theory of time-travel and its real uses to us as humans. Although parts of it were somewhat slow, it kept your interest, and it was also quite random and funny, but in a very subtle way (sometimes not especially subtle, and in some cases its quite blatant). But I think this is definitely categorized under "David Lynch-esk" films.
76
Princess Mononoke (Mononoke-hime) 1999,  PG-13)
77
Resident Evil: Extinction 2007,  R)
Resident Evil: Extinction
Yes, folks! 5 Whole stars for this one! I mean it had good rip-roaring special effects, heart-pounding action and a great vision of the endangerment of man-kind! Milla Jovovich is even better in this one than she was in the last one, somewhat because they didn't have to try so hard to make her cool, she could just go off her own steam. Russell Mulcahy should direct all other attempts at sequels.
78
Futurama: Bender's Big Score 2007,  PG)
Futurama: Bender's Big Score
It's good to have the old gang back! I loved this movie! It had all of the Futurama randomness you could ever want! I loved every minute of it! Even if it isn't coherent and is sometimes VERY complicated!
79
Paprika 2006,  R)
Paprika
A very well thought out anime of the surrealistic value. I loved this movie, though some parts of it could have had some more explanation than they did, you still got the idea of what exactly was going on. I haven't seen a good anime like this in a while.
80
Justice League: The New Frontier 2007,  PG-13)
Justice League: The New Frontier
I loved it! This was a great movie that showed a great beginning to a brilliant franchise of DC heroes! I wasn't crazy about some of the new voice actors, but I understood why some of them changed, mostly because some of them had been in the business for so long. I wasn't crazy about Super Man's part in this, nor was I crazy about them lessening some of the roles of name super heroes, however the ones they did use were quite plentiful, so it doesn't take away from the score! Very good adaption!
81
Alice in Wonderland 1951,  G)
82
Snatch 2001,  R)
83
Super Troopers 2002,  R)
84
Hitman 2007,  R)
Hitman
Perhaps the best action flick of the entire year, at least that I've seen. This is like Shoot'em up, only with a better plot, and better script. I thought they did a great job in casting it and it was a movie that didn't try to confuse you or mislead you, it was straight forward and to the point, but it was still very enjoyable to watch.
85
Dead Bang 1989,  R)
Dead Bang
THE action movie of the 80's. It was funny, action packed, and it just had a great plot. I loved Don Johnson in his role, and I loved to see Tim Reid again! I don't think there was a scene I didn't like in this movie, and I will definitely be watching it again. Kudos to Frankenheimer.
86
TMNT 2007,  PG)
TMNT
I've always been a big fan of the Ninja Turtles, and this movie has definitely struck it on me. It was great seeing all of my old-school heroes on the big screen! The third one sucked so bad I was kind of scared for this one, but thankfully the only thing this one lacked was an original plot, but that's never stopped me from liking them all the same!
87
Futurama: Bender's Game 2008,  Unrated)
Futurama: Bender's Game
Ah, that's better. Much better than the second one, and ranks well with the first one. I loved the mix of Fantasy with Futurama, it really gave the movie an action-packed feel to it. Not to mention the fan-service kiss near the end... All in all, another successful attempt at a Futurama movie. Good job Groening!
88
Gonzo: The Life and Work of Hunter S. Thompson 2007,  R)
Gonzo: The Life and Work of Hunter S. Thompson
You cannot put a price on a documentary as wonderful, and courageous as this piece of art. Hunter S Thompson was one of the landmark people of our age, a man who not only created his own genre of journalism, but also wielded a sword in the name of the American Dream. I do not believe there will ever be a man quite like that deformed snowflake. Deformed in the way of understanding, but a beautiful snowflake none the less.
89
HULK VS. 2009,  PG-13)
HULK VS.
Surprisingly very, very good. It was awesome to see some of my favorite Marvel characters go at it in a harsh battle! I loved how they set the stories up and how they kept to the comics for the most part. Though it would have been better if they made it a whole movie with both Thor and Wolverine instead of two separate movie-lets.
90
Year One 2009,  PG-13)
Year One
Harold Ramis has done it again! It is not nearly as funny as Caddy Shack, but Jack Black is one of my very favorite comedians. This movie had wit, and it has great dirty humor for the entire family. If you love Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny, then you will definitely love this movie. I don't know if it's because I'm incredibly biased in the favor of these type of movies, but I do know that they are great fun to watch with friends.
91
Trick 'r Treat 2006,  R)
Trick 'r Treat
Very few times was I pleasantly surprised when I had such high expectations for a movie. This one was a hidden gem, an anomaly of its time. Brian Cox, Anna Paquin, and Dylan Baker all put up a fantastic performance. The plots all tie together quite well and the absolute insanity of it all was just a thrill to watch. I tried my best to find something I didn't like about it, but whenever a scene began to slightly drag, it picked up right away with something I didn't expect. If you want a movie for a Halloween party, look no further!
92
Zombieland 2009,  R)
Zombieland
This movie probably just worked its way up to being my #1 favorite zombie movie. Woody Harrelson puts up a great performance out of the cast, as well as Bill Murray for his cameo. It was actually much funnier than I expected, and it really got me thinking of how to survive a Zombie Holocaust in general. Though the plot is almost non-existent and it really was a fairly short film, it got its point across and also gave the viewer a sense of fulfillment when their appetite for blood is gorged and satisfied.
93
Léon (The Professional) 1994,  R)
94
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back 1980,  PG)
95
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi 1983,  PG)
96
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope 1977,  PG)
97
Waiting 2005,  R)
Waiting
Whenever I first saw this movie I worked for an Ice Cream store, serving people. So I can seriously relate to the people in this movie and their woes of work and customers. I found Ryan Reynolds to be a stand-out performance in this movie, as well as a small role by Dane Cook as the... cook. I seriously loved this movie and if you've ever had a food service job that customers pissed you off at (you know... all of them?) then this movie is one for you!
98
District 9 2009,  R)
District 9
I was marvelled by this movie. It was a little slow to begin with, but it was ample for character development. Of all of the characters, I loved Chris the alien the best. He was a complicated character and entertaining all his own, along with his son. The alien technology could have made the entire movie by itself, especially by some of their effect. Most of all, it was so great how they made this movie in the form of a mockumentary at the first, and showed this alien residence as if it were real. If there were an alien race that came to our planet, this movie could very well have told us how it would happen.
99
Mr. Brooks 2007,  R)
Mr. Brooks
The man under his skin is named "Marshall". I liked this movie a lot, it was funny, clever, graphic, and suspenseful. William Hurt and Kevin Costner are brilliant in this movie. The best Kevin Costner movie since Dances with Wolves.
