My Favorite Movies

  SperoHawk's Rating My Rating
1
Braveheart 1995,  R)
Braveheart
This has been and should always be my favorite movie. Although not entirely accurate (I have sadly learned) this movie is exactly what a wannabe Scot, like myself, thrives on. The amazing story of William Wallace always brings a tear to my eye, no matter how many times I watch it. The setting is beautiful, the story is compelling and the acting is outstanding, what more could you want from a movie?

Mr. Holland's Opus 1995,  PG)
Mr. Holland's Opus
This movie touched my heart the first time I saw it back when I was 9 years old. I think it is even part of the reason I want to be a teacher. Its a story about how a teacher changes the lives of his students and everybody else around him. Richard Dreyfuss is an amazing actor and delivers an excellent preformance in Mr. Holland's Opus.
3
Rent 2005,  PG-13)
Rent
I love this movie. I really want to see this live on broadway one of these days.
4
White Squall 1996,  PG-13)
White Squall
Jeff Bridges stars in this amazing true story about coming of age of a group of young men as they journey on the sea. This movie has always stuck with me since I saw it in my younger days and has always been a favorite. All the young men deliver excellent and real performances and that is essential in bringing the audience into a movie.
5
Gladiator 2000,  R)
6
Memento 2000,  R)
Memento
Memento is one of my all time favorite movies. I love the twists and turns this movie takes you through. Some people that I have made watch this movie didn?t like how it was cut together but I feel that was the only way to do this movie. I have watched the special feature where you can watch it in chronological order but it just isn?t as good.
7
Into the Wild 2007,  R)
Into the Wild
Into the wild is one of the most beautiful movies I have ever witnessed. Not many movies leave you the way this one did, I know I will be thinking about this movie and what it meant to me for weeks, months and years to follow. It was a challenge in itself to try and find where I could see this movie but I finally did and am so thankful I got to see this in theatres. Sean Penn did an amazing job directing this movie, some of the shots just make your jaw drop and you have to say wow. Also the acting was superb, I canā??t wait to see what Emile Hirsch does next because he just proved how well he can act. Like I sometimes say if you actually read my reviews do yourself a favor and go see this movie.

Hot Fuzz

Run Fatboy Run 2008,  PG-13)
Run Fatboy Run
Not what i was expecting when I saw Simon Pegg was going to be it but i liked it. Its one of those movies that makes you feel good and makes you want to get up and run along with Denise. Simon Pegg did a good job as usual and honestly it has given me some inspiration.

Kung Pow! Enter the Fist

15
Return to Me 2000,  PG)
Return to Me
The first time I saw this movie I fell in love with it. David Duchovny and Minnie Driver have amazing on screen chemistry and it really helps the story. The story itself is a little cheesy and far fetched but who doesn?t like a little cheese anyways. When ever I see that this movie is on I always record it because I am a sucker for a good love story.
16
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels 1999,  R)
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
What an awesome movie. First of all the action in this movie is great. It is helped by an interesting and fun story. I love how all the problems are wraped up in this film. Finaly the ending is one of my favorite endings of all time.
17
Serendipity 2001,  PG-13)
Serendipity
Serendipity is another of my favorite romantic movies. It?s a movie for those of us that are hopeless romantics that believe one day fate will bring our soul mates to us. John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale do a good job in this movie and I really liked Jeremy Piven?s performance in a supporting role.
18
Donnie Darko 2001,  R)
19
The Neverending Story 1984,  PG)
20
On a Clear Day 2005,  PG-13)
On a Clear Day
This movie suprised the heck out of me. I was brought to tears by this movie at one point and I don't even know why. The characters felt real and the story was heart warming and you were rooting for these guys the entire film.
