an absolute fantastic movie....talk about a romantic-comedy....this movie is not only funny, witty and gives hope to those hopeless-romantics out there but it actually makes you think as well...richard dreyfuss delivers a great performance and brings such a comical energy to his role as i've never seen in any other actor...the quick comebacks and wise-ass remarks will definitely leave you laughing in tears...this is a must watch for anyone who loves this genre of movie...

An interestingly written romantic comedy....it has certain similarities with the movie when harry met sally...one of them being that billy crystal starred and did a marvelous job in both of the movies....debra winger also delivered a wonderful performance here and kudos to the actors who played not only their friends but were narrators of the whole story...
witty, funny, dramatic at moments and settings that include breath-taking sceneries from paris....with a combo like that, you can never go wrong...

Based on a true story, this powerful movie deals with issues such as gender inequality, sexual harassment, and violence against women.
This film is about a handful of women (focusing on one in particular: Charlize Theron's character) who worked in an iron mine dominated by testosterone driven men. The treatment that was given to them can only be described in two ways; outrageous and down right sick at times.
When one decides to stand up for her rights and sue the company, friendships are put to the test, secrets from the past are revealed, and family ties are severed then, strengthened by love.
Avid fans of movies that give you a sense of realism and inspiration should definitely not miss this.

despite giving the impression of being just another movie that uses bad english and stupid humour to attract audiences, borat is actually a really entertaining, laugh out loud film.
behind the comedy, out-of-this-world crazy stunts, and weird storyline, borat actually deals with a lot of real issues such as discrimination of jews and gays, feminism, racism, the war in iraq, gun control and other significant matters in america.
the story is basically about a real horny guy named borat who is a journalist cum reporter from kazakhstan. he travels to america with his equally nutty producer; azamat to make a documentary about american culture for the benefit of kazakhstan's citizens. however, when he gets to new york, borat watches baywatch and falls in lust with the infamous pamela anderson. this leads him on a road trip across the nation to "make sexy" with pamela and of course, marry her despite not ever meeting her beforehand. well, all of that and the character borat are fictional but the people he meets, the interviews and some other scenes are actually all real and unscripted. those scenes which make up most of the movie are hysterical as you witness the strong reactions of "normal" people towards the outrageous behaviour and mind set of borat. at the same time a deeper message is sent across through comedy when prejudices, animosities and hypocrisies are revealed.
this is a movie to be enjoyed, laughed at but also interpreted carefully...

Powerful. Real. Heartfelt.

This is definitely one of the best movies ever made. Loved every minute of it.

Based on a true story, freedom writers is about an amazingly dedicated teacher whose lessons were not just confined within the class of 203. Miss. Erin Gruwell did not only improved the English of her class and inspired them to write, she also touched her students' heart and united them as one.

Wilson High School in California was one of the first schools to be chosen for the integration programme, which meant students from all races and ethnicities; the blacks, whites, hispanics, cambodians and et cetera were all taught under the same roof. Doubtlessly, tension arose between the students. They were separated into groups of their own kind and all of them sworn to protect each other, or else.

The students of room 203 were no different, each young teen had experienced traumatic events in their lives that no one should have been put through. Imagine just reaching puberty and have to see your father beat up your mum then he comes after you, unleashing his furious rage with each blow. Or watching your best friend shot in front of your eyes. Imagine being evicted from your house and having no place to go, no income. Or picture seeing your father unjustly arrested simply because he was of a certain ethnicity.

Freedom writers tells the life stories of all these unthinkable issues and more. It also showcases the importance of education, the changes it can make and the remarkable outcome of one person's desire to make a change.

A truly touching story that actually made me tear up a couple of times. That's how I know it was great.
