How do they do it? The Koreans make these deeply twisted melodramas and play them straight and with an intelligent earnestness. And they kill. This is a sad film sprinkled with several incredibly smart, almost playful scenes that make the characters real and jolt you out of any notion this is a single vision manipulation. Bravo.

I will call this my all-time favorite movie. I don't think I'll ever tire of watching it. Such a smartly written film.

Poetic. Dreamy. Surreal. There's just something about the way Sion Sono puts together a film that appeals to me. The assemblage maybe more than the film.
