This movie is the perfect combination of deadly serious topics that concern us all as human beings, and on the other hand, insanely genius humor. Kowalski is grumpy, sarcastic and unpleasant but only on the surface. He's simply too intelligent for the people he's living among.
For those good in heart, smart and with character, he's there unconditionally.
A movie for all who appreciate the finesse and are always taken back by a person true to himself.
It's about one of the most amazing adventures and achievements I ever saw in my life! And I'm quite sure it will stay one of them for my whole life.
Truth to be told, I'm still not sure he actually did what he did.;)
The man who walked on wire on height of 417 meters between the twin towers. What is amazing is not just the walk but the whole organization of a event (which of course wasn't legal :) and his enthusiasm, will power and charisma that motivated people around him to join in and help him.
Only bad thing is his betrayal in personal/ love life, that's why half the star less. Only half the star, because the movie is not about him personally but the dream he achieved.
This is a highly recommended movie from my part, for all the dreamers out there. :)
I couldn't really say this is a movie. It would be a serious lack of judgement. "A single man " is deep experience for all senses. A poetry in thin air.
Such layers, beauty in colors and sounds is rare to find. Acting is marvelous, casting excellent. Colin Firth, Julianne Moore and Matthew Goode are exemplary, en every way you analyze it.
I like the emotions swaying and guiding you to the essence of personal experience, but still allowing you to grasp the big picture and truth on abstract level.
Love is love, and that's only thing that should be recognized and respected. Every other judgement, better said fear and prejudice is just an speck of dust unworthy of the meaning.
Excellent dark mystery thriller ! A masterpiece, one can freely say.
I wish Swedish people made more movies like this ! With point, precise, realistic, deep and cruel even, but not trip-like as they usually do.
I loved the investigating duo Salander-Blomkvist. Both of them are authentic and amazing in their character portrayal.
Lisbeth is a bit poke in the eye for the common spectator, with her behavior and appearance but after realizing how she became the way she is, she captures even the hearts of toughest opponents.
Whatever type of spectator you are, take a risk and open the door to Lisbeth world. You may not like all you see, but it sure will make you appreciate all you have and don't have. ;)
I would never say that a danish movie about Turkish girl could be this perfectly directed, technically on the level of high budget movies, without stupid special effects. But not just that.
Story is excellent and it's delightful to see a fighting movie where a main role went to girl!
