Coraline 2009,  PG)
Coraline
Wow, I was blown away by Coraline. I can't believe its not Tim Burton! The styles and plot are very similar to his style. I was amazed. This movie even left me speechless right after seeing it. Whenever the lights turned on in the movie theater, I remember thinking, oh yeah, I'm back in the real world now, and oh it's Valentine's Day....haha. You know, I was telling my boyfriend who I saw it with, I thought that for a movie that I thought would be for kids, it was actually really freaky in some parts. I actually got really scared! Like the whole button eyes was creepy, the hand scared the crap out of me, and the spider was pretty scary too. I hated when the hand just came after her out through the door, that scared the shit out of me. Luckily Wybie came to her rescue. I love Wybie, he's awesome. I also loved the cat. The cat was awesome. I loved the concept how he could go into the other world anytime he wanted to and even talk! I was very sad for Wybie in that "other world," he couldn't talk or anything, even when he needed to the most! The animation by the way, was gorgeous. It was so beautiful and even very realistic looking, in a very colorful cartoony way of course. I fell in love with this movie and I definitely am buying Coraline when it comes out on dvd.

13 Going on 30 (Suddenly 30) 2004,  PG-13)
13 Going on 30 (Suddenly 30)
This is now one of my favorite movies. It was really cute. One aspect I really liked about the movie is that the characters that were young actually looked almost exactly like the characters as adults. This is truly a great chick flick and best to watch with a best friend. That was really sweet how Matt made that whole doll house for her, he really liked her. My sis ter and I thought the skinny blonde girl was a little bitch. She tricked Jenna twice! At the party she even said she was going to go get some beer and she's only 12 or 13! I thought Jennifer Garner was really good. She was really silly and goofy. I laughed a lot during this movie. My favorite parts were the dancing scene, when she was with Matt on the swings, and the ending. But I thought it was funny that through the entire movie Jenna was dressed like a kid as well as acted like one too. Her hair even always seemed crazy looking. I liked the part where she had the slumber party with the girls, that was funny too. I loved the romantic parts in this movie. They make me feel warm and fuzzy. I picture myself as if I'm the girl or as if I'm in the movie during those parts. I thought it was fun when they danced together and how he kissed her in the park. I cried in the part where she said something along the lines of "I believe if you really knew I had changed, you wouldn't be marrying someone, unless that someone was me." He looked like he was going to cry in that part too. He loved her so much when he was little and you could easily tell he fell in love with her all over again starting fromt he dancing scene. He is such a sweetie. I wish his character were a real person and would marry me, Lol. Such as sweet romantic and fun loving movie, I loved it.

WALL-E 2008,  G)
WALL-E
Wow, this movie was fantastic! My first impression was that it was going to be ok and that was it, but no, I was blown away. I thought this movie was almost as good as Cars, Monster Inc. or maybe even Finding Nemo. Some of the greatest Disney/Pixar movies, in my opinion. Even though this is a kid's movie, I was surprised to see that the whole movie revolved around love and more complex matters than that of usual kid's movie. Quite excellent. Although I felt bad for Wall.E because he got beat up an awful lot in this movie and died about 3 or 4 times. I think my favorite part in the whole movie, was when Wall.E was using the fire extinguisher and "dancing" in the sky with Eva. That was such a cute and even beautiful scene. I'm definately going to buy this movie when it comes out.-

Marley & Me 2008,  PG)
Marley & Me
Wow. I was completely stunned by this movie. I really want to read the book now. I really am in shock. I had no idea what to think about this movie, I just thought it would be a cute family movie, boy was I wrong. I mean this was cute, but it was so much more than that. For a Hollywood hit, Marley and Me is probably one of the most realistic films I've seen in a long time. This movie had great family values and life lessons. I mean many of the things that happened in the movie, are very common daily happenings or events in a person's life. I mean the the couple got jobs, sacrificed jobs, they got into heated arguments (which was one of aspects that made this movie very realistic), had kids, and of course had a crazy dog. Even though this movie was hilarious and very cute, it was the family values and lessons that got to me. Even though the ending was very sad, I thought that was also very realistic and how it should be, because people have to put down their dogs all the time because they don't want them to suffer even more. (Although I really don't like euthanasia, no one does, you just hear about these things happening is all) I also thought it was sweet when the kids all crowded around the grave and said or did something special for Marley. I loved this film, more than just a cute movie.

August Rush 2007,  PG)
August Rush
Wow, I was blown away by this movie. I thought it was absolutely beautiful. I had never watched a movie that gave me chills the entire time. The score was absolutely captivating. The music gave me chills and for those who play an instrument, this movie almost becomes an inspiration. I was amazed by the guitar playing, especially the way the person could hit it like that. I loved all the music. I thought the end was amazing. I was so happy to see how everything came together in the end. This movie was absolutely stunning.

Shrek 2
It was so cool. I loved it. I thought it was better than the first one, even though I don't remember the first one that much. No it was definatly better than the first one. Puss is soooo cute! and I liked the plot for this one, and I liked how Shrek became human, that was neat. It was funny and romantic. I also liked all the vibrant colors in this movie. I liked the part where Shrek went to look for the spells. Puss in boots is so cute! I love this movie. I love everything about it!

The Wizard of Oz
This is one of my favorite movies

The Wedding Singer 1998,  PG-13)
The Wedding Singer
This movie is so sweet and its pretty hilarious too. I absolutely LOVE the meatball lady, oh she was so cute when she sang to her husband on their anniversary and I crack up and kind of grimace every time she gives him the meatballs as a payment for lessons. It's so cute and funny, but it's really kinda gross too. I also just really love the story, about how this girl just mends Robbie's broken heart, and gives her something to look forward to, she is like the star or sunshine in his life. It's just a really good early 90's chick flick. It's got a good story line, characters with a little depth and really great humor. Perfect chick flick for someone who isn't super girly and has a good sense of humor.

Monsters, Inc. 2001,  G)
Monsters, Inc.
This movie, Toy story and Finding Nemo are my favorite disney computer animated movies
17
Enchanted 2007,  PG)
Enchanted
This movie was so cute. It was really hilarious too, I just thought it was so funny how she was always so happy and girly girly and she kept getting hit in the face by the "real world." Whenever the critters all came into the apartment I was just like, "Ohhhh no." But I guess she worked with them. I also really liked how she fell in love with Rober, I think that was his name. It was so sweet. That part really was romantic and like a fairy tale. Something that I noticed too in the movie, luckily because I'm observant is that in the cartoon part whenever she made that little man or whatever it was it had the same kind of imitation of a blue jacket as the one Robert wore during the Ball. I also really liked how Nancy ended up with the Prince, that was kinda cute and it was funny when they were getting married and her phone went off. This movie was like a Disney movie with the perfect ending, but more realistic and with a few twists. Definitely, a Disney movie like I've never seen before. I really enjoyed this movie, it was very cute and romantic. Who knows, maybe I'll even buy it.

Ratatouille 2007,  G)
Ratatouille
This was a really cute movie! I really enjoyed it. One thing I didn't like though about this movie was that it made me really hungry for food when I was watching it. It was a good movie. My favorite part was the ending with all the rats cooking and how they tied up the bad guys. That was funny. I really enjoyed this one.

The Nightmare Before Christmas 1993,  PG)
The Nightmare Before Christmas
I love the music in this movie. I love this voices. Zero and Jack are my favorite characters. Claymation is so neat looking.

Tuck Everlasting 2002,  PG)
Tuck Everlasting
Wow, I forgot how much I love this movie. This movie is so good, but has anyone ever wondered about this movie compared to Twilight. I actually think I like this movie and book way better than Twilight. But I wonder if Stephanie Meyer had ever seen this movie or read this book before, because it is very similar to Twilight, now that I think about it. Well, similar in the concepts, I suppose. They are both about finding a true love and immortality. But I suppose the biggest difference besides time period and all, is that Jesse wanted Winnie to go with him and be immortal because he truly loved her, but she chooses to live her life the way it was supposed to be. But in Twilight, Edward didn't want Bella to become immortal, but we all know she does become that way. So if you think about it, it really is similar.

But back to the movie, I really love this movie, I'm sure it has it's flaws like every other movie, but the love story was there, the fantasy and my god, it was very visually beautiful. It is such a beautiful movie, with such a beautiful story. But I've forgotten how sad it really is. The only thing about this movie and story that I didn't like is that they couldn't be together even though they really loved each other. I bawled like a baby whenever they had to leave her. But I suppose that was how it was supposed to be, and that was the whole point of the movie. That is what Tuck told her, "do not fear death, but rather the unlived life. You don't have to live forever, you just have to live." The Innocence and the love was so beautiful in this movie, and the scenes were gorgeous, I don't know where this movie was shot, but it was absolutely beautiful. I

The movie was so beautiful, that I watched it twice and I'm planning on reading the book now, this movie has inspired me to read it again.

27 Dresses 2008,  PG-13)
27 Dresses
This was a great movie. Although, I do have to admit, there were a lot of cliches but that's o.k. I laughed out loud a lot when I watched this movie. This movie also had great acting and a good moral that you can't help everyone. This movie was very romantic, sweet and hilarious! My favorite part was when the girl realizes that she loves him and goes to find him on the boat and admits her love for him. I also really liked her wedding. Another part I really liked was when they ended up staying together that rainy night and going to the bar. I liked that part when they were drunk and singing and then making out and etc. The most hilarious part that I liked was when the girl was yelling "Fuck" and she was yelling that in ront of an anniversary party. I laughed so hard in that part.

Across the Universe 2007,  PG-13)
Across the Universe
Oh how I really do love this movie. I don't care what other people think. I'm still entitled to my opinion and they can say what they want to say about this movie, but I thought it was very beautiful. I didn't really care for the circus part because it was so weird and almost scary actually, but I suppose it would look really cool to pot heads and all that messed up stuff. However, that scene actually is like the style of the beatles and so was the scene when everything was psychedelic and they were on the bus with all those vibrant colors, because honestly if you are a hardcore Beatles fan, which I'm probably not the most hardcore, but I do have a great appreciation for them, then you really need to watch the animated Yellow Submarine video. I watched it in art class and I swear it is the most messed up thing I've ever seen, but the circus scene made me think a lot about that movie. I do agree with one of the comments made earlier, this is a very visually dynamic movie and it is very beautiful with all of those vibrant wild colors. I honestly think the acting was great. I do suppose however, that one of the downsides to this movie is that there are a few songs that in my opinion will never live up to the standards of the orginial versions of the songs and the movie did slightly drag on in a few parts. For instance with the songs, I really did not like "All You Need Is Love." The real version I like, but this one was so different, I just really didn't like it. I do think the singing was very beautiful too though. Jim Sturgess has such a wonderful voice and he's very attractive as well. All the other actors and actresses were wonderful too, but I was most impressed by his voice. Overall, great movie and a beautiful love story.

Woa. That's about all I really need to say. But I will review and analyze more because that's what I like to do being an English major and all. Anyways, I thought this movie was well directed, the acting was great and the plot flowed very nicely. I thought it was sad how Ben kind of ditched his friends but I'm pretty sure everything turned out for him in the end. I was sad when he turned the chips over to that Colen or whatever his name is, but then when you can just assume that he got the scholarship, well that made all the difference. The ending really made the movie.

Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian 2009,  PG)
Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian
Woa, I really liked this movie. I'm still trying to decide whether I liked it better than the first one or not. I think i still like the first one a little bit better, considering that everything is new and first coming to life then. I also loved in the first movie how he came up with his plan to take care of everything. Although, I do think that I laughed a lot in this movie. I think this one may have been funnier than the first movie, I laughed really hard in a lot of different parts. I thought Octavius riding on the Squirrel or "the Squeaker" was hilarious! I also really liked Amelia and her character. I liked how Larry and Amelia kinda liked each other but it was sad how they couldn't really be together. It was pretty funny and cute though, how he found a girl that reminded him of her but who was the complete opposite of Amelia. I also thought that Kazmunrha was pretty goofy like they said, I liked how they pushed him into the Underworld, that was a good idea and unexpected in my opinion. I really liked when Amelia and Larry escaped on the plane, that was pretty cool and the monkeys! The monkeys were so cute! I said "Awwwww" whenever they hugged that was just too cute....lol. Overall, great movie and definitely a must watch and then buy. Loved it!

Eagle Eye 2008,  PG-13)
Eagle Eye
Woa, This movie literally left me speechless. It was....incredible. This is one of the best action movies I've ever seen. I don't care what anyone else says about it, Spielberg is a genius. I'm not one for a lot of action movies, but this is by far one of the best ones I've seen. Great actors and actresses and a great plot. The movie moved and flowed from one scene to the next and it was amazing how each scene was connected in some way. I liked how they used the idea of the "governement/computer" watching and listening to us. It makes you wonder sometimes, its quite possible. I seriously don't know where there were any slow parts in the movie except the beginning and the very end. I seriously thought that Shia was dead at the end of the movie when he got shot. I couldn't believe it and then I saw him in the end and a sense of relief poured through my veins. The one thing I didn't care for too much in this movie is that the end was just a little too...I dunno, it seemed to take away from the movie a bit...but then again if you think about it...if a person goes through such a serious and traumatic situation as they did, they probably would be close to each other. Other than that, this is one of the best damn action packed movies out there. For those of you who don't like this movie because of it involving other ideas from Hitchcock's films, then you should read an essay by James Porter about intertextuality and you might just change your mind about this movie. It doesn't matter if this movie used other people's ideas, its the way that these ideas were put together to create a whole new meaning that is incredible. Like I said earlier, I was left speechless after I saw it last night.

Shrek 2001,  PG)
Shrek
It was cute and funny. I like the whole story about how Fiona is acutally an ogre too and Shrek doesn't know that but then in the end when he sees her he's like well that explains a lot. But I also llike the story about how her rescuer is completely unsuspected. And I like in the begiining how Shrek reads the book and then is like, yeah like that will ever happen and then it actually does, and he marrys her! This is a really sweet movie. donkey is so funny too!

The Prince of Egypt 1998,  PG)
The Prince of Egypt
This is a really good movie, it's really sad too though......I love the songs in it and the characters

The Little Mermaid 1989,  G)
The Little Mermaid
I love this movie....This movie, Beauty and the Beast and Lady and the Tramp were my favorite animated Disney movies when I was a kid, and so was Dumbo. But now that I'm older I'd say Beauty and the Beast comes in first, Lion King second, Aladdin third and then probably Dumbo and then this one. I dunno there are a lot of really good Disney movies, this one is definitely one of my favorites though.

As for the movie itself, I think this one has a lot to it, but the story is completely different than the real Hans Christian Anderson and they totally changed almost everything, which makes me kinda sad, but oh well, whatever. Anywho, I think the music is absolutely some of the most beautiful out of all the Disney movies and I think all the characters are really great. But I think some of this movie is a little boring too, like a lot of the parts where she can't talk, the movie seems to move a little slower than usual. Other than that this is definitely a HUGE classic!
