Despite the depiction brutality and hatred, director Steve McQueen still manage to bring upon some beauty and hope from Solomon Northup's story which enabled the protagonist to survive the horror he went through. It does challenge viewers to see the harsh and raw reality of slavery and McQueen does not overlook the truth. Moreover, from the supporting to the lead characters, the actors' performances are nothing short of astonishing. It is simply a masterpiece!
GRAVITY just proves that the techniques of filmmaking never ceases to evolve. Highly recommended to see this film in 3D. It might be the one of the only few films which uses 3D to experience throughly this incredible voyage through Bullock's characters' eyes.

This film may be 3 hours long but it is filled with very interesting cinematography and, incredible representation of Russians struggling for their survival. Considering that the story takes place in the 15th century, we see how the religion has an major impact on the people. A film to see but only if you're able to appreciate great art and religion blend in one film.
