The Dark Knight 2008, PG-13)
lol,Like I was ever going to give this anything less than 5 stars. In fact just imagine that I drew another 3 or 4 stars on there,Cause YA its just that dam good.I was ready to be blown away and I got just that.Incredible sound too,I want to marry the THX guy.Anyway The cast is so good,I dont know about Maggie though I just don't dig on her too much, but thats a personal thing nothing to do with the movie. So lets get dirty then,Non stop action,It was over before I knew it,A few people have commented how long it seems and that they thought it should be shorter,Um I wasn't ready for it to be over. The whole ferry scene was really a trip,I didn't expect that, very cool.Heath Ledger was absolutely magical,in fact his magic trick made my tummy do a little flip too,but he IS the joker,I will probably get a lot of shit for this I DON"T CARE!Bring it!!! Not only does Heath Ledger play the Joker he evolved into the joker and I am sorry I think he makes Jack Nicholson's joker look like child's play.He smacked his version right outta the dam park !There just IS no comparison.Dark,demented,FEARLESS.I love every twisted second he was on the screen.I can't explain the exhilration of finally getting to see this after waiting for what seemed like eternity,It seemed like the wait got longer too after Heath passed away. But it's like stepping into the front car of the brand new roller coaster and literally after the DC comics logo flashed and it was beginning I felt myself take a deep breath,I knew I was in for a great ride.I shit you not I was like Christmas for me today.I know there will be other good movies this year,I won't LET anything in my heart or mind surpass this movie.Oh and families on a tight budget,I get it,but hear me out.If you have 1 movie that you can go to all year and see in the theater you want it to be this one,I guarantee it.Anyone who waits for this to come out on DVD ,you are cheating yourself out of the full experience.Nolan is a brilliant ,brilliant man, nothing was left out.Seriously, riveted the entire time, the music, plot, characters, everything was totally ON POINT.Here I am adding my extra stars here.Go see this movie ASAP!!! =)***** and 5 more for Heath ***** |

We Are Marshall 2006, PG)
First of all I want to say Hands down this is the best Football movie I have ever seen.I think we need more stars than 5 cause I dam sure wanted to rate this higher.Friends listen to me,Make this movie a top priority.A true story of a school that lost its team, and a town that lost their hope until one day 1 man stepped up to a brutal challenge of trying to change that town.Matthew McConaughey delivers a Stellar performance as coach Jack Lengyel,he moved his family into the town in the middle of the worst pain and devastation they had ever known, and proved to them as long as you dream, and never give up you can change a team and a town.I kid you not,Man or Woman this movie WILL make you cry! And you will hold your breath until the final moments of this tremendous film, and finally it will make you want to jump out of your seat and with a thunderous Roar Scream "We Are Marshall!"SEE THIS MOVIE ASAP!! |

INXS - Live Baby Live , Unrated)
Probably the most Amazing Concert I have ever seen.I wish I could have been there,On that history making day,I wish I could have seen Michael when he was at his peak of success and happy. If I could go back in time I would probably do just about anything to have seen this live.High Energy Amazing sound all of INXS' best songs performed by the one and only true frontman INXS ever needed. This DVD goes into alot of detail about all the behind the scenes stuff that went on and how the remaining band memebers felt about that day and that concert.I will admit it,INXS and Michael Hutchence for those that do not know me well are my absolute weakness. So I will show NO shame in my game and admit that yes I probably watch this like every 6-8 weeks,I love it that much.It helps me to hold on to the true essence of everything that Hutch was,and how he was able to 'MYSTIFY" a crowd of over 72,000 in one day and he did it all Live Baby Live. |

Ok,finally saw my first James Dean film. What a sweet soul this guy was,What a tragedy,Who knows what he could have became,Anyway. If you are at all curious, this was great,Sad,the whole deal with him and Aaron's mom.But James or 'Cal' his character's name is definitely the main dish in this movie. His sweet, shy, slightly mischevious, quirky and very unpredicle nature was absolutely captivating.I think I am developing a whole new obsession here.I hate when I do that with dead celebs.Anyway he was great and again so sad,I can't wait to see the other movie. If you have ever been curious,do it,watch it,life is too short,Enjoy all these great films while we still have them intact.=) |

Great film!I knew it was going to be,I had heard alot about it,I guess I was expecting there to be a little more magic in it.I think that's another thing is I kept trying to compare it to The Prestige and should not have been doing that. All in all though Edward Norton is awesome in this as well kudos to Jessica Biel and Paul Giamatti, which I will just add right here that I really didn't know what decision he would make since he seemed so farup the Prince's ass.He did the right thing =).Anyway see it if you haven't already,Oh and great twist ending.=) |

Jet Li's Fearless (Huo Yuan Jia) (Legend of a Fighter) 2006, PG-13)
OK so here I go getting sucked into yet another amazing Martial arts flick.I had so many of my great Flix friends recommend this movie to me after my Ong Bak Frenzy last week.I am so glad I listened to you guys.I was amazed this was a true story as well. The ending was verrrry sad.But amazing story, beautiful cinematography, and some awesome fight scenes that I wanted to keep rewinding and watching over and over.SO please now that I have joined this whole kung fu craziness please keep your recommendations coming.I really enjoyed it.I do think I liked Onk Bak a little more because the action was non-stop and I swear Tony Jaa can do things with his body that don't seem human, but EXCELLENT.If you have not seen this ,you should =) |

Fried Green Tomatoes 1991, PG-13)
Another superior movie that has eluded me for far too long.I have always loved Kathy Bates,In this movie you cannot help fall in love with her character. She is the greatest person, would do anything for anyone, except herself really. Her underdog tone in this movie is very believable,so does get a backbone down the line but the journey is sad and funny at the same time.I also have loved Mary Stuart Masterson forever, this was a stellar cast of women, although this is not just a movie for women or your typical chick flick at all.I will also add this every once in a while to break away from the glitz and digitally explosive hollywood is a great thing. You take a story that is very special and combine it with such a well rounded cast you create magic. The amazing thing is,For any woman if you are 17-75 you WILL find some part of this movie or one of the characters that you can relate to,or are maybe in the same sort of situation, there really is something here for everyone,I am truly ashamed with myself that I let this one go as long as I have.See it!!! |

Wow!! What a visual stunner! This was my homework assignment from my Flix Movie buddy and I am so glad I watched it,even though I already got an 'F' for the week =(.Anyway although I don't think it's quite as good as Hero, this was a beautiful movie it's got all the elements that the good movies are made of,Love deception, loss, oh yeah and daggers lol.Great great movie,If you have not seen this movie and have an appreciation for the 'older' tradition martial arts movies you will love this one!! =) |

Avatar 2009, PG-13)
Are there enough stars here?? No! Is this movie over hyped? No,although I thought it was ,this is the first time I actually was steering clear of reviews, trailers and wanting to know anything about a movie before seeing it.SO it made it even more epic and unreal than what I ever could have imagined. So here is the brass tacks.Should you see this movie the answer is YES,but only in 3-D and only in the theater. This is an experience fore sure the story,is breathtaking and beautiful and the Avatar world that is shown to us so gradually is so much more than your friends are trying to explain to you. This is one that when someone says you have to see it for yourself, its because its completely true.Is it groundbreaking? My God undeniably it sure is! The effects are so smooth and the transitions between the Avatar world and the Human world are seamless. This is really an amazing story.I honestly had not read reviews or watched the trailers for the very reason I wanted to take this whole experience in and not have my head all full of judgment and other peoples ideas and I am glad I stuck with my decision on that. Its a visual masterpiece,I guarantee won't be even half as great on Blu Ray or whatever when that is released.Seriously people,I know times are tight but really treat yourself to this ne,I guarantee you will not be disappointed.By the way there really is something here for everyone,We have the Action,Romance,Special effects, science fiction,my God that's the tip of the iceberg,I cant imagine someone walking away from this movie and not liking it at all...if that's the case they are complete Morons.See it in the theater!!! |
|
| 445 |
Inception 2010, PG-13)
OMG! This movie is INSANE! You have to see this one in the theater to truly appreciate it.If you are looking for a mind-bending ,make you think and still leave you stumped, with kick ass special effects and an all star cast ,You got the best movie of summer right here.I would not recommend seeing this if you are tired, distracted ot hungover,You will have to really pay attention,oh and pee before you go into the theater its a long one.AWESOME! SEE IT SOON! |
|
| 446 |
The Expendables 2010, R)
AT risk on of sounding like a guy full of Testosterone, this movie was awesome.Great cast (obviously). Some funny one liners and enough boom to hold you over for the rest of the year.Go see this one in the theaters.Ladies do something nice for your man,Take HIM to the theaters for this one,He will really appreciate you for it.=) |

Remember Me 2010, PG-13)
I am ashamed of myself that I didn't want to see this film.I really almost lost out and learned once again not to pre-judge.This was a great movie I thought it was gonna be a cheesy predictable love story, and didn't think Robert Pattinson was as big of a deal as everyone makes him.He can actually act and very well I might add.It chills me that i decided to watch this movie today of all days gives me double goose bumps.Anyway I am highly recommending this movie. If you have had it in your stack of Ill get to this one soon, you bump this to the top. |
