put simply, the most adult movie that i have ever seen. the awesome cinematography, the direction, the cast and soundtrack all combine to create a modern nightmare so beautiful and gut wrenching that you will forever be affected,
in my opinion the greatest movie lynch has and ever will make. from its mundane almost lifeless begining thru its turning point and eventual climax i gazed in wonder. repeat viewing after repeat viewing and i still only believe that i know what is going on
epic in its claustraphobic depiction of a failing affair. As beautiful as it is bittersweet. a tour de force in the cinema as modern art. Wong kar wai, takes what is the simplest of stories and creates a world of tension, of such delicacy, that u cannot help but being sucked into the lives of the protagonists. as engaging as cinema gets.
this is my second review of this, after a 2nd viewing i am upping my rating from 4 to 5 stars. this movie is a beautiful heartwrenching epic set over 3 time periods. only one being reality and the other two from the subconcious of the two protagonists. some people have moaned that the film has no direction and is incoherrent...those people are idiots. dont read the synopsis of this movie as it truly isnt what the film is about. YOU MUST SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!
the choens create a modern fairytale of everday life that encapsulates so much of the everyman in us all...fuck it dude lets go bowling. never has a movie been qouted so much in the same flat all day long...before now
Tony Scott's epic. The build up is timed to perfection, just long enough for the characters to be fully fleshed out and be realistic. Then its all business from then on in. Big Denz and his big bag of justice gets results.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! That is all!
First time director Zach Braff somehow manages to avoid all the cliches of the the coming of age/mid life crisis movies. He manages to keep his chracters believable and sympathetic, whilst allowing his strory to take subtle comic twists. If you dont feel good at the end of this movie, then you are a heartless dog.
all i have to say is this ... you remind me of the babe what babe? the babe with the power what power? the power of voodoo voodoo? you do, oh you remind me of the babe
one of the greatest feel good movies about the mundane nature of life and growing up in a small town where you just dont fit in. makes you giggle everytime
Following Identity was always going to be difficult, however Supremacy takes it inits stride and delivers a story so wrapped up in intrigue and action that it is easily as good as its predecesor. the change in director gives it a rawer edge. Damon remains amazing as Bourne (he just looks pure ragin the whole way thru it). The inclusion of joan allen and brian cox to the cast lend it a weight that has been unsurpassed in its genre.
