My Favorite Movies

Fight Club 1999,  R)
Fight Club
In my opinion, one of the best movies ever made. Ever. It's one of those films you have to see at least 3 or 4 times to fully absorb.
2
28 Days Later 2002,  R)
28 Days Later
A chilling version of our future...I love the shaky camera work and realistic acting of this movie, it makes you feel like you're right in the middle of it. That being said, this is one of my top-5 Favorites.
3
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2003,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Quite possibly the most ambitious and exciting fantasy movie ever made. I could never in a million years express the extent of my love and gratitude to the cast and crew for bringing to life such an astounding piece of literature.
4
The Thing 1982,  R)
The Thing
SO UNDERRATED. This movie terrified me when I first saw it at the tender age of 7...unrivaled special effects, great acting, and a maddening atmosphere of paranoia. The defibrillator/Norris scene is just jaw-dropping. If you're a sci-fi/horror/monster/suspense movie fan, this one's not to be missed.
5
Serenity 2005,  PG-13)
Serenity
Wow, I love this movie. Not only is it based on the criminally unappreciated series Firefly, which I also love, but it stands fairly well on its own for people who never had the chance to see the show.
6
Pan's Labyrinth 2006,  R)
Pan's Labyrinth
Beautifully conceived and executed in every aspect...I didn't know what to expect going in, but I was blown away.
7
An American Werewolf in London 1981,  R)
An American Werewolf in London
I love this movie - it's a horror classic, with more than enough twisted comedy thrown in to entertain those who aren't partial to scary movies.
8
Ginger Snaps 2000,  R)
Ginger Snaps
Seemed fairly low-budget, but WOW, this is the most original spin on the old werewolf story I've ever seen. It's got a lot of dark humor, and gore galore.
9
Dawn of the Dead 1978,  R)
Dawn of the Dead
One of the best films in the genre, by far...probably only bested by Night of the Living Dead.
10
Army of Darkness 1993,  R)
Army of Darkness
A classic cult film, and a damn entertaining one at that. Ash = my hero.
11
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 2003,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
One of my all-time favorites. Pirates, Johnny Depp, a hell of a lot of action and laughs = yes please?
12
Seven (Se7en) 1995,  R)
Seven (Se7en)
Graphic, shocking and enthralling - this is just a great movie, on all levels.
13
Pitch Black 2000,  R)
Pitch Black
Unforgivably underrated...Pitch Black is a breath of fresh air in the sci-fi genre. Forget Chronicles of Riddick, watch this!
14
The Boondock Saints 2000,  R)
The Boondock Saints
At times it's a bit preachy, but the combination of ultra-violence and psychotic humor makes me giggle with glee.
