Recess: School's Out
People, go easier on this movie. I personally think that the jokes are great, and that the story is to the point. It might not be as good as other disney classics, but, still, I am the only one here giving it a good review. A great movie to own on DVD and video.

Probably two-thirds of a good movie.
31
The Simpsons Movie 2007,  PG-13)
The Simpsons Movie
Not as bad as it could be, but certainly not as good as you want.

45
Transformers 2007,  PG-13)
Transformers
Great special effects + Shia LaBeouf - flimsy story = lotsa fun.
46
Shrek 2001,  PG)
Shrek
Shrek is a sign that animated movies have grown up, but still retain the kid inside them. Informed by the sophisticated skepticism of recent animation products from "The Simpsons" to "South Park," SHREK harkens back to great classics of children's animation to weave a traditional fairy tale, with a contemporary spin. It's a strange day in Toonland when a misunderstood and lovable ogre agrees to rescue a princess for a self-absorbed nobleman, with a wise-cracking jack ass in tow.

The contempt of Wild Hogs for its audience is so glaringly self-evident it's sickening.
53
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street 2007,  R)
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
The gore functions as an over-the-top joke, but it's also a devil's bargain, insisting that if we want to be entertained by murder we had better confront what it looks like.

Head-and-shoulders above most so-called suspense films out there today.
64
Candyman 1992,  R)
Candyman
Certainly one of the scariest films of the last few years, Candyman is an intelligent, unconventional thriller. If you thought there were no original horror stories, see this movie. If you thought Candyman was just some predictable slasher pic, you're in for some surprises.
65
Nancy Drew 2007,  PG)
Nancy Drew
It could have been worse.
66

67
Minutemen 2008,  Unrated)
Minutemen
The actors are charming, talented, and convincing in these roles. The general plot isn't original (time travel is so overdone!) but the ideas geared towards the movie are brilliant. It has a pretty good script with a decent amount of jokes and overall good natured humor. It tackles a typical theme of being comfortable in your skin and being honest with yourself in a unique and colorful manner. I love this movie!
68
Short Circuit 1986,  PG)
Short Circuit
No film has changed American culture more than short circuit. This movie touched on almost every issue that we hold sacred. From what makes a real person, to love, to prejudice.

After seeing Short Circuit over 100 times, I believe that I can safely say that it has influenced nearly every movie that has come after it.

If you have not seen this movie, I don't believe that you can truly have a full and meaningful life.
69
Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who! 2008,  G)
Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!
A fresh, and mostly refreshing, approach in Hollywood's pillaging of the good doctor's oeuvre.
70

Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium
Inert and self-doubting.
71
Journey to the Center of the Earth 2008,  PG)
72
Iron Man 2008,  PG-13)
Iron Man
I liked Iron Man, but the I-know-it-by-heart part makes it somewhat resistible. It's entertainment out of a jar.
73
Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle 2004,  R)
Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle
Since it's practically impossible to make an unfunny stoner flick, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle has the odds stacked in its favor. The jokes aren't exactly smokin', but there are enough high points to make this a gratifying pot comedy.
74
Bridge to Terabithia 2007,  PG)
Bridge to Terabithia
Imaginative, touching and keenly attuned to the coming-of-age genre, Bridge to Terabithia is a welcomed breath of fresh air in the stale family movie arena.
75
College Road Trip 2008,  G)
College Road Trip
Although it doesn't hit on all cylinders, the somewhat emotionally resonant College Road Trip represents the same Disney caramel center at each one of its chocolate-coated candy films.
76

Rock Star
Mark Wahlberg's rock 'n' roll fantasy turns into a nightmare when he goes from the po-faced singer of a British heavy metal tribute band to the real band's new (and easily manipulated) frontman.

The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep 2007,  PG)
The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep
Corny, predictable and a tad Free Willy-ish? Yes, but Water Horse still has inspiring moments the whole family should enjoy.
81
The Wisher (Spliced) 2002,  R)
The Wisher (Spliced)
This movie was not all that bad. The whole thing about people slipping in images to make the viewers do crazy things was a pretty cool twist, but they didn't follow up on that part very well. It would have been more intersting to see who did that to the movie. Or maybe they are making a sequel.
82
The Holiday 2006,  PG-13)
The Holiday
Meyers can't sustain a convincing idea in her movies.
83
Arthur and the Invisibles (Arthur and the Minimoys) 2006,  PG)

90
Barnyard: The Original Party Animals 2006,  PG)
Barnyard: The Original Party Animals
Barnyard seems like it might be fun. Cows acting like humans? Get out! That's hilarious! But really, it's not. It's a one-note premise that falls flat after about 10 minutes.

Cloverfield 2008,  PG-13)
Cloverfield
If Godzilla were to knock up Blair Witch Project, Cloverfield would be their spawn. It's not quite as groundbreaking as those two, but the movie is definitely ground-shaking--partly from viewers trembling in their seats.
98
Friday the 13th 1980,  R)
99
Ghost Rider 2007,  PG-13)
