The brilliant emotional climax to a superlative trilogy. Peter Jackson and his cast and crew have created a masterpiece for the ages.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Time Magazine said it best on their cover: ¨Good Lord! The second installment is even better than the first.¨ Classic!

Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang 2005,  R)
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang
One of Robert's favorite roles and well it should be. What a delightfully crazy romp this is. He and Val are wonderful together and Michele is a sweetheart. I never get tired of watching!
7
Iron Man 2008,  PG-13)
Iron Man
I loved Robert's first blockbuster! Robert Downey Jr. IS the movie from start to finish, with his lightning quick wit and self-deprecating charm. Just amazing! The supporting cast is also excellent and the effects are very well done. Lots of fun! Downey, as usual, deserves highest marks for this one. Marvelous to see him on top where he has always belonged.
8
Chaplin 1992,  PG-13)
Chaplin
Robert didn't just act the part of Chaplin, he became him. I don't think I have ever seen a better performance in my life. He definitely should have won the Oscar that year.
9
West Side Story 1961,  PG)
West Side Story
Probably the greatest musical of them all. With Bernstein and Sondheim´s music and Jerome Robbins´choreography how could it go wrong?
10
Amadeus 1984,  PG)
Amadeus
A beautiful and fitting tribute to one of the greatest composers of all time. Tom Hulce IS Wolfie and F. Murray Abraham´s riveting portrayal of rival Salieri makes the story even more personal--even when dealing with one of history´s great classic icons--Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
11
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows 2011,  PG-13)
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
RDJ is just so damn convincing as Sherlock! I think I even liked this second outing better... The wordplay between he and Moriarty (especially that incredible scene with The Trout.. wow), and of course his repoire with Jude Law... inspired!!
12
Brokeback Mountain 2005,  R)
Brokeback Mountain
The more I see this film the more I fall in love with it. Jake and Heath did an amazing job in difficult and deep roles. Ang Lee is one of my favorite directors and this is definitely one for the books.
13
Sense and Sensibility 1995,  PG)
Sense and Sensibility
Emma Thompson's wonderful character study is just delicious to watch... All the actors are first-class, the screenplay is brilliant, and it's just sooo veddy British!
14
Tropic Thunder 2008,  R)
Tropic Thunder
Robert's second Oscar nomination... OMG what a year this has been for Robert! He has done it again in Ben Stiller's uproariously funny Hollywood satire. What a great "comeback" this has been for RDJ (although he never actually stopped doing topnotch work all along)... And he REALLY deserves all the accolades for this one! (Too bad he had to come up against Heath's Joker in almost every single awards show. Rats. But his time WILL come.) The rest of the cast is side-splittingly funny as well, and Ben Stiller has redeemed himself in my eyes with this great spoof. Ditto for Tom Cruise!
15
Sherlock Holmes 2009,  PG-13)
Sherlock Holmes
My favorite actor in a role perfect for his intelligence, quick energy, charisma and charm... and he was so good I almost forgot at time that it was Robert and not Sherlock I was watching. The man is simply amazing. Bravo for his well-deserved Golden Globe! Also, wonderful production values (Go Guy!) and brilliant witty repartee between RDJ and sweet Jude as 'Hotson'. Give me more!... Just a delight from start to finsh.
16
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 2012,  Unrated)
17
Finding Nemo 2003,  G)
Finding Nemo
I think I've finally decided this is my favorite Pixar film! I love UP and WALL-E as well, but Nemo, Marlin, and especially Ellen Degeneres' Dory (best voice work EVER!), and of course the incredible digital colors of the ocean are just plain awesome.
18
Forrest Gump 1994,  PG-13)
Forrest Gump
It may be cliche, but dang it, it's my life!! The history of the US and its music from '57 til the early 80s when I moved to Mexico... Gotta love it! (And Tom Hanks, Gary Sinise and Robin Wright are excellent!)
19
Thor 2011,  PG-13)
Thor
Chris Hemsworth is the perfect Thor! Just the right amount of gravitas, but with a subtle sense of humor. After he and Tom Hiddleston's riveting Loki's turn in The Avengers I absolutely can't wait for the sequel!
20
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 2003,  PG-13)
21
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street 2007,  R)
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Who doesn´t adore Johnny Depp? Mea culpa. And Johnny singing? Sheer heaven! Add in Tim Burton´s chilling vision, Sondheim´s amazing music and an excellent supporting cast... A perfect combination!
22
Rango 2011,  PG)
Rango
Totally charming, and Johnny Depp personifies Rango to a T!! Hunter S.Thompson would be proud... Great story and graphics as well... Loved all the weird critters!
23
Happy Feet 2006,  PG)
Happy Feet
Who knew? An animated musical about dancing penguins starring Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman?! Enchanting ! The soundtrack is joyous and ultra-danceable. And what excellent animation and direction by George Miller. Definitely deserved all it´s awards and especially its Oscar win.
24
The King's Speech 2010,  PG-13)
The King's Speech
Just beautiful... It doesn't hurt that I absolutely adore all three leads! They are in their zone in this eloquent historical tale, and Colin Firth is just perfect as Bertie--fully deserving of his award--and the film as well!
25
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest 2006,  PG-13)
26
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End 2007,  PG-13)
27
Captain America: The First Avenger 2011,  PG-13)
28
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 2005,  PG)
29
Iron Man 2 2010,  PG-13)
Iron Man 2
The amazing RDJ does it again, chewing up the scenery as always and continuing his love affair with the camera (to all our benefits!). He has an excellent supporting cast as well, with some stand-out entertaining villainy from Sam Rockwell (hilarious), a subtle yet powerful antagonist in Mickey Rourke, some fun cameos by Jon himself, and sexy smart support from the two very lovely, very capable super-ladies by his side. It won't replace the first one as my favorite, but I can say Jon really is doing an excellent job with the franchise, and I can't wait to see what he and Robert have up their sleeves for the next one!
30
The Dark Knight 2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight
Wow. Heath Ledger is stupendous as the Joker. Absolutely riveting. Sigh... Everyone else is excellent as well, but Heath definitely takes center stage. The film was so intense it left me wrung out like a wet mop!!
31
The Soloist 2008,  PG-13)
The Soloist
Robert Downey Jr is flawless in his interpretation of Steve Lopez, the LA Times reporter who told the world the true story of his difficult but moving relationship with Jamie Foxx' character--schizophrenic musical genius Nathaniel Ayers. Downey is calm and understated throughout, an observer in Jamie's confusing but vibrant world. (As Roger Ebert said (I believe), "with just a gesture or a certain look RDJ transmits more emotion than most actors do with their whole bodies".) Joe Wright really immerses you in the homeless peoples' world in LA, and Jamie is both tender and conflicted in a harrowingly difficult role, but it is Robert who really stands out (as always!). In this beautifully stark film we are shown both of these men are soloists in their own right. Bravo!
32
Mamma Mia! 2008,  PG-13)
Mamma Mia!
Delightful musical with excellent performances all around--especially the three "mature" friends Meryl, Julie and Christine--hilarious! Meryl just doesn't age and still is one of the top actresses around. Pierce is gorgeous as always--too bad his voice isn't quite up to par! But all is forgiven with the beautiful scenery, spot-on characterizations and fun upbeat music from ABBA.
