Pan's Labyrinth
Awesome, beautiful, imaginative, brutal, violent, involving, sad... I could go on, this is the best film i've seen in years. Also Ivana Baquero is stupidly talented!

Oldboy 2004,  R)
Oldboy
The coolest film of the vengeance trilogy, Choi Min Sik is fabulous as a middle aged man who finds out he pissed off someone during his childhood and is paying for it now. The film plot features lots of twists and turns, it's clever but at the same time it's sick and twisted.

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (Boksuneun naui geot) 2002,  R)
Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (Boksuneun naui geot)
Brilliant film, you feel for both of the main characters as they both have valid reasons for their actions. There are plenty of twists and turns in this cool but unforgiving film.

Chinjeolhan geumjassi (Lady Vengeance) (Sympathy for Lady Vengeance)
Featuring some of the best talent in Korea at the moment. This film is the worst of the trilogy but is still well worth watching, thats how good Chan Wook is.

Mou gaan dou (Infernal Affairs) 2002,  R)
Mou gaan dou (Infernal Affairs)
inspired the departed, this is hong kong cinema at it best. This film is full of plot twists and turns, i loved it. I think if you put this and infernal affairs 2 together it's just that little bit better than the departed. Key moments in the film just seem more powerfully portrayed than the US remake. If one film should get an oscar it's Infernal affairs and not the departed. Sorry Scorsese!
