Oldboy 2004, R)
The coolest film of the vengeance trilogy, Choi Min Sik is fabulous as a middle aged man who finds out he pissed off someone during his childhood and is paying for it now. The film plot features lots of twists and turns, it's clever but at the same time it's sick and twisted. |

inspired the departed, this is hong kong cinema at it best. This film is full of plot twists and turns, i loved it. I think if you put this and infernal affairs 2 together it's just that little bit better than the departed. Key moments in the film just seem more powerfully portrayed than the US remake. If one film should get an oscar it's Infernal affairs and not the departed. Sorry Scorsese! |
