Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Gonzo way is way better than the Eight-Fold path
2
Edward Scissorhands 1990,  PG-13)
Edward Scissorhands
One creature I often relate to and hold close to my heart. Tim has created a character which will now forever stay a universal symbol of the test the society face - do we embrace or chase away?
3
Amadeus 1984,  PG)
Amadeus
I realized its greatness at 8 y. o. Epic.
4
Dead Man 1995,  R)
Dead Man
It is a cult classic. and if you have not seen it in a swamp from white canvas, with William Blake poems being read at the same time from a boat on the river....with sweet smell of cloudberry tea coming from the teepee...then you havent watched it in the most perfect way.
5
Map of the Human Heart 1993,  R)

The Legend of 1900 (La leggenda del pianista sull'oceano)
man, they fooled me. I thought this was real. I thought this ship was still out there. at first I thought it was a documentary!!!! it is as smooth and classy as ballet or sacher-cake.
7
Baraka 1993,  Unrated)
Baraka
you have to see this. it is a visual anthem to Earth. The message? Every living being has the right for even just one place in the world where they can just be themselves. You won´t turn your head from this, I promise, so shut up, Bob D.
8
Stage Beauty 2004,  R)
Stage Beauty
great film, great acting, I was stunned and surprised. I did not know what Billy Crudup had in him until I saw this. He is a really great underappreciated actor.

16
Twelve Monkeys (12 Monkeys) 1995,  R)
17
Beetlejuice 1988,  PG)
Beetlejuice
when I was a kid, the visual approach was something I had never seen before - even in Sovjetmuzfilm animations. I was stunned by the macabre and eery and weird humor, you know, stuff that appeals to kids who dont like Disney.....tricks like this grew enormous respect towards Tim Burton who is in my opinion one of the few very visual filmmakers still left on this planet...

House of Fools 2002,  R)
House of Fools
it is almost surreal a russian film can be so friendly towards the chechen matter.... it is a bit chaotic and the fools are rather stereotypical, but you know....the whole life is a house of fools. especially war...
23
Dark City 1998,  R)
24
The Neverending Story 1984,  PG)
25
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 2003,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
when I heard about it first I thought they had all gone nuts. such fine actors as Geofffrey and Johnny - and a pirate film?????? and THIS much make up? I thought this was to be a kind of movie Ed Wood would make....I thought it was a BIG, BIG mistake but decided to go see it - and I went with great superstition. on first viewing I seriously laughed until I went blind and got cramps in my stomach. later when I knew the twists and irony and witty visual tricks and little interconnected details it was not all that enjoyable. but it is great entertainment and created a character, that will no doubt keep living his own life even when everyone has forgotten the movies as such.

Back to the Future
DOOOOOOOCC!
Why don´t I know someone like that Doc?
I doubt the real 1980ies could have produced us this incredible flick. I think someone went back in time and told them to make Back To The Future. break-ins to DeLoreans increased drastically after these....
