Donnie Darko 2001,  R)
Donnie Darko
Donnie Darko is confusing and complicated and weird. I love it. Maybe it's just Jake that I love, but really it's a very quotable and memorable roller coaster of a movie. It's really funny at times and dark and disturbing others. For the best effect, turn off the lights and watch it late at night by yourself.

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan 2006,  R)
Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
Hilarious. I've never laughed so much and so loud at a movie. No offense, but if you don't like this movie, you just don't get it.
3
V for Vendetta 2006,  R)
V for Vendetta
A great political commentary. This movie is inspiring. Makes me what to organize a revolution!
4
Breakfast at Tiffany's 1961,  PG)
Breakfast at Tiffany's
One of my favorite classics. I can't help it, I cry every time I watch it. It's funny, sad and fabulous!
5
Star Trek - First Contact 1996,  PG-13)
Star Trek - First Contact
This is probably the best Star Trek Movie (or possibly tied with Star Trek 6). Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, Alfre Woodard, James Cromwell, Alice Krige, etc all do an excellent job! It finally tells us about the legendary Cochran, inventor of the warp drive, while intertwining my favorite Star Trek crew and the borg with the historic story.
6
Love Actually 2003,  R)
Love Actually
A great romantic comedy. Only thing it really lacks is gay people of any sort... Otherwise I love it!
7
As Good As It Gets 1997,  PG-13)
As Good As It Gets
I love Jack Nicholson in this movie. Ok, I love Helen Hunt and Greg Kinnear in it too... Actually, the dog is the star of the movie... It's funny and crazy and great!
8
The Silence of the Lambs 1991,  R)
The Silence of the Lambs
Anthony Hopkins and Jodi Foster are GREAT in this psychological thriller. I find myself identifying with Hannibal and Starling (no, I don't want to eat people). Great characters, great story and very well-acted.
9
Groundhog Day 1993,  PG)
Groundhog Day
I like Groundhog Day because I would love to repeat a day over and over again. it sounds crazy, I know... Also, Bill Murray is a comic genius and doesn't disappoint here.
10
Hedwig and the Angry Inch 2001,  R)
Hedwig and the Angry Inch
This movie is many things that I love: A rock opera/musical, queer, & really well-acted to name a few. Don't write Hedwig off as a drag queen. Drag queens are cool, but Hedwig is even more complicated and needy and painful to watch. Yet she is beautiful. It's a beautiful movie! Just watch it!!!
11
Reign Over Me 2007,  R)
Reign Over Me
What a great movie. It's heart-breaking and touching and well-acted. This is Adam Sandler's best role to date. Loved it!
12
Fight Club 1999,  R)
Fight Club
Two words: Brad Pitt. Also, Ed Norton... Fight Club is action-packed, psychologically stimulating and visually pleasing.
13
Philadelphia 1993,  PG-13)

One of my favorites. Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington are really great. Amazing story, amazing acting, great film.
