The Shawshank Redemption
Figured it'd be good. Was totally blown away. Made some new favorites for me, including favorite film and actor - Tim Robbins. The pace is perfect, nothing is overdone, and I didn't want it to end. When it did, I nearly cried.

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind 2004,  R)
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
One of those movies that gets better every time you see it. I can relate to Jim Carrey's character, and Kate Winslet's Clementine is lovable as well. Most of all, I like the concept.
3
The Truman Show 1998,  PG)

Very thought-provoking. Carrey's performance is convincing and ropes you in to his world.

One of my all-time favorites, this has some of the best action sequences, the best effects, and great storyline that makes it worthy of its 'classic' status.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off
The best teen movie ever made. The humor is exquisitely done and the message is strong: Have fun in life.

Memento
Whoa, total mind trip! Seriously, this movie is rather confusing the first time, but when you see it again, it's highly entertaining. Fun to catch all the little things intentionally put into the film as well.

2001: A Space Odyssey 1968,  G)
2001: A Space Odyssey
One of the most captivating films I've ever popped into my DVD player. Mesmerizing effects that I still don't know how they were done. This has become one of my favorite films, with beautiful visuals and simple, effective story. The ending, while confusing to me, was nevertheless fascinating.
9
Back to the Future 1985,  PG)
Back to the Future
Best time travel movie ever! It actually stays consistant and believable, whilst being unquestionably entertaining. Anyone who quotes this movie is my friend.
10
Vanilla Sky 2001,  R)
Vanilla Sky
Pretty fast-paced until the last 20 minutes, so it's kinda hard to keep up, but if you do, it's a great story that totally blows your mind. Love Cruz. Love the soundtrack.
11
Jacob's Ladder 1990,  R)
Jacob's Ladder
I don't usually like scary movies, but this one is my favorite. The ending makes the movie worth watching over again and the camera effects are really something to behold.
