Bear in mind, this ain't the AFI Top 100, just a loose assembly of some of my personal favorites.

  quick0000's Rating My Rating
1
Jaws 1975,  PG)
Jaws
The first blockbuster, still most deserving of the title. Not a false note, not one wasted shot. Everything you want in a major motion picture, it stands the test of time for all the right reasons.
2
Citizen Kane 1941,  PG)
Citizen Kane
Without Welles and Kane, we wouldn't even have the modern movie, for better or worse. A fascinating movie on so many levels, always worth a viewing!
3
The Evil Dead 1981,  R)
The Evil Dead
A group of kids made this movie, and it shows. Stephen King loved it, you can't find a genre fan's favorites list without it, and the director moved on to "Spider-Man." The movie itself isn't so amazing, but its lasting impact on DIY film-making really is.
4
The Incredibles 2004,  PG)
The Incredibles
A family film that actually lives up to the idea of entertainment suitable and enjoyable for every age; an instant classic people can enjoy together for generations to come.
5
A Fish Called Wanda 1988,  R)
A Fish Called Wanda
A gleefully devious classic, powered by four of the funniest people alive. Cleese and Curtis shine in their mismatched love story, while Palin and Kline orbit them with manic yin/yang chemistry.
6
The Blair Witch Project 1999,  R)
The Blair Witch Project
After 10 years, I'm still scared by this movie; this one re-wrote the rules of production, of genre, even marketing. Respect it.
