Pee-wee's Big Adventure 1985,  PG)
Pee-wee's Big Adventure
I have seen this film about a million times and can quote pretty much every line. It's absolutely hilarious. Me and my sister have had endless hours of fun doing the 'Tequila' dance. I can't emphasise how good this is! Watch out for Large Marge.
2
Three Amigos! 1986,  PG)
Three Amigos!
This film is hilarious, even when I didn't get the joke about the mail plane having 'little balls' when I was very young. It has a plethora of laughs (haha, 'do you know what a plethora ees? How can you tell me I have a plethora?' or something along those lines).
3
Napoleon Dynamite 2004,  PG)
Napoleon Dynamite
Me and my friend saw this at the cinema, we hadn't heard of it but there was nothing else on, and as soon as we saw it I was desperate for someone else to have heard of it because it was so funny.

Napoleon is really cool. It's impossible not to love all the characters, there's something so sweet about them! And there's some funny dancing.

A Room for Romeo Brass 1999,  R)
A Room for Romeo Brass
This came on TV really late at night and I thought it was going to be something crap like the kind of dramas you're made to watch in school. However, it's completely not what you expected. Morrell is a really frightening character.

Amazing!
5
Twin Peaks - Fire Walk with Me 1992,  R)
Twin Peaks - Fire Walk with Me
Twin Peaks is still my favourite TV show ever, and this gives a bit of an insight into the life of Laura Palmer. I think Ray Wise and Sheryl Lee are absolutely fantastic.

However, if you haven't seen Twin Peaks, don't even bother as a) you'll be confused and b) it will ruin it for you.
6
The Lost Boys 1987,  R)
The Lost Boys
The vampires in this film are just so cool, and I wanted to join them so much as a child. The music fits the film perfectly too, really makes the scenes stick in your head forever.
7
The Nightmare Before Christmas 1993,  PG)
The Nightmare Before Christmas
My grandparents took me to the cinema to see this, and an obsession started! The imagery, the characters, the music, the story.. everything about this is fantastic. This is just exactly what I find exciting and manages to be dark and cute at the same time.

Hotaru no haka (Grave of the Fireflies) 1988,  Unrated)
Hotaru no haka (Grave of the Fireflies)
If this film does not break your heart, you don't have one. Seriously. I am not the kind of person to cry at films but this story is so tragic and the characters are so realistic that it totally killed me.
9
Battle Royale 3D 2001,  Unrated)
Battle Royale 3D
This is just a cool film. The ending is bizarre, and that makes me love it even more.
10
It's a Wonderful Life 1946,  G)
It's a Wonderful Life
It's an absolute crime that this wasn't on TV last year. It's a classic, really interesting, sweet story. Heartwarming, but not sickening!
11
The Neverending Story 1984,  PG)
The Neverending Story
I still desperately hope that the horse doesn't sink every time! Spent hours worrying about it as a child. I still want a go on a luck dragon.
12

Fight Club 1999,  R)
Fight Club
This was one film that I really didn't want to see as the name made me think it was something boring. However, it's one of my favourites with a brilliant twist. Just completely cool.
14
The Night of the Hunter 1955,  PG)
The Night of the Hunter
Terrifying. Mr. Powell is frightening, you can just feel the children's fear every time he's singing. I love the scenes in the river too, they just look amazing!
15
Wild At Heart 1990,  R)
Wild At Heart
This is a fantastic film.

Sailor and Lula are a sexy couple, and there are some creepy, bad characters around.

The only thing I dislike is the make-up at the end!
16
Ghost World 2001,  R)
Ghost World
One of my favourite films ever. I love Thora Birch. Steve Buscemi is brilliant.

It's just what teenagers are like. Or what my teenage life was like.. perv hunting. Haha.
17
My Neighbor Totoro 1988,  G)
My Neighbor Totoro
I would definitely agree that this film portrays childhood perfectly. And the catbus is one of the best things ever thought up!

The Royal Tenenbaums
This is a really brilliant darker comedy. I love the characters and the music.
20
Paperhouse 1989,  PG-13)
Paperhouse
This is one of my favourite films, although I haven't seen it for a really long time. A girl draws pictures that come to life. Not cheesy, but pretty scary.
21
Ed Wood 1994,  R)

Johnny Depp is brilliant in this role. Martin Landau is a really good Bela Lugosi too.
22

Every single time I see this I am so desperate for Roach to escape, and every time it upsets me when he doesn't!
25
Metropolis 1927,  PG-13)
Metropolis
Absolutely amazing. Good story, excellently done. The actress who plays Maria was great, particularly as the robot Maria - really manic.

You must see this.
26
Clerks 1994,  R)
Clerks
Randall is great. Everything about this film is great.
27
Hedwig and the Angry Inch 2001,  R)
Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Brilliant film! Sweet and funny. The make up and clothes are amazing!
28
Neko no Ongaeshi (The Cat Returns) 2002,  G)
Neko no Ongaeshi (The Cat Returns)
Absolutely amazing! I saw the English dubbed version, not sure how much it differs from the original language or subtitles.

A girl saves a cats life, and in return gets a trip to Cat Kingdom and to marry the son of a really pervy cat king - she isn't too happy with this so approaches the Cat Bureau, run by a very nice, helpful and clever little model of a cat. Sound mad? It is, and it's brilliant. Funny, scary and cute. This is something I would have loved as a child.
