Pickpocket
This film is so special for me because I have never felt this liberation in a movie ending. We are anxious and trapped through all the movie, with little moments of a fake God (the robbery) very little moments of a fake beauty (the art of pickpocketing). This film is about the rupture of the soul of a man in a compulsive world but in it, God is revealed in the things that Makes the life worth living.

Late Spring
Simplicity, elegance, unity, harmony austerity, this are characteristics of the Zen Tradition but also to the films of Yasujiro Ozu. One of the most consistent works in the history of cinema and one of the most rigorous works in terms of style. Simplicity and elegance where every thing in his compositions was meticulous placed to achieve a pictorial cinema. A cinema where you can put alone the image an it will be very beautiful to look, the movie is so subordinated to form, to symetry, balance and visual harmony that every frame that you see in a Ozu film is something beautifull.

Sansho the Bailiff
One of those films that shows with formal beauty a very dramatic plot. A film that has a comunion between plot and image, giving a lot of importance to the image this films is beautiful to look at, You can view this film to a aesthetic and visual level.

Emotional powerful this film really justify the existence of the art of filmmaking.

Un condamné à mort s'est échappé ou Le vent souffle où il veut (A Man Escaped)
A huge influence to nouvelle vague, this film represents the zenith of the formal principles of Bresson aesthetics, being one of the most spiritual films in the history of cinema, a film about faith and redemption. With formal rigour and precise and austere compositions this film drives you towards a kind of liberation, the viewer is profoundly engaged in this film.

Il deserto rosso (Red Desert)
This film is like listening the work of Autechre, (duo characterized of cold, mechanic and sterile environment). Watching this film I find a kind of Synchrony between their music and the landscapes portrayed. There is a feeling of pos apocalyptic world where the industries and machines have consumed all recognizable sign of humanity. and this is reality nowadays. The protagonist in this film is the result of a process of degradation, in the previous three films of Antonioni alienation tetralogy there is a perseverance of humanity, you can see something natural, but in this film all of this has completely disappeared. A masterwork that influenced such famous guys like Stanley Kubrick or David Lynch.

Mouchette
bleak, austere but deeply liberating. This film is about redemption but in a very bad way, by suicide? yes it is very pessimistic that the only way to reach the divine grace it is when we are dead because in life we really dont see God anywhere. Bresson put us a happy ending in the context of the film. Surely one the most uncompromising and minimalistic film I have seen. But it is also so emotional and deeply enigmatic work of art, we make the character by ourselves, all it is behind the surface, this is the thing that makes this film so special.

Robert Bresson makes this film very magic with a very simple and pure image without great photography or great landscapes or acting, or twisted scripts, only by showing the little things of the human soul and the human suffering. One of the most beautiful films about depression.
