I think William Wyler dealt this materials and story very well. I once read the original novel, I don't know it was because the translation so bad or what, somehow,?could't understand the intentions of this novel. But since I saw this movie, I really feel that I could catch the reason that why this novel could be a masterpiece. |

Kumonosu Jô (Throne of Blood) (Macbeth) 1957, Unrated)
Brilliant. Kurosawa adapted Shakespeare's classic in a very amazing way. The shot was so good....In fact I think it is better than the British drama version of Macbeth which I've seen....I think moving all the background to Japan is indeed a dare idea. But most of all, the way he dealt it was worth of being called GENIUS!!! |
