Amélie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain)
Superlative does not even begin to describe how amazing this film is. The characters are achingly touching, endearing and amusing, and the portrait of Paris is beautiful, if somewhat contrived. If you don´t have it, buy it. NOW.

The First Wives Club 1996,  PG)
The First Wives Club
Possibly my favourite film ever. Not exactly burning bras, but girls getting even - love love it!
3
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert 1994,  R)
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
The quintessential road-movie. Three drag queens travel across Australia in a bus called Priscilla. This really hits the nail on the head with its portrayal of provincial homophobia, but also warms the heart and cracks some wicked witty one-liners. A film that is funny, sad, entertaining and inspiring all at once.
4
The Triplets of Belleville 2003,  PG-13)
The Triplets of Belleville
This is an amazing animated film, with a sharp and satirical edge. The triplets are particularly engaging, but the whole cast is fabulous. Five-star perfection.
