:-) A film to be seen many times, there are many details you miss at the first time! A nice DVD to keep on the shelf for "mood rising" a rainy and grey day! The actors seem to have fun in making the film, too!
A classic! See this version before you watch the latest, with the story moved to USA! You will find Ladykillers II even more funny that way. Lots of cross-references!!! ;-)
I saw this film 40 years ago, and today I could see it again on a DVD - I still LOVE it! Both Alec Guinness and Stanley Holloway are wonderful. An Ealing Studio film! FIVE stars!
:-)With old-times famous actors in minor roles! Buster Keaton SPEAKS! Marlene Dietrich beautiful as ever. Fernandel, Charle Boyer, Peter Lorre, etc, etc. See the full cast & crew at IMDB.com! FIVE stars! Be still a child at heart when you watch the film!
:-) One of the first non-Disney films I saw, and I liked the craziness in it! Still do! the dialogue - much pun fun> George: Hey! There's a Cyclops! Paul: Can't be. It's got two eyes. John: Must be a "bicycle-ops" then. Ringo: There's another one. John: A whole "'cyclopedia"!
"If you cannot think of anything appropriate to say you will please restrict your remarks to the weather. " -- Jane Austen had humour! It is a lovely film, beautiful and with excellent actors.
The portraits from Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen are alive! It is a very beautiful, also funny, and very moving film! And that feast ..., alas, not for vegetarians!
A beautiful film! And the question: "What is a hero?" perhaps get an answer. It is a Chinese Ink Painting on a roll, that slowly winds up, unfolding the many "paintings" within. Photography and music add to the total impression. The DVD has interesting "extras"! :-)
It is a five * film! Brilliantly done, fantastic research of the animators and film team, they even took cooking lessons! BRAVO! The story is sweet, funny, touching and interesting!
Sweet 60-ies in a nutshell, in clothes, music, dance floors. And Ingrid Bergman as a Swedish dentist nurse - Lovely! Quote from the film:"Señor Sánchez: There is something so provocative about a nurse in uniform. No frills. No adorments. Just the basic woman. "
