Silent Hill

PAUL's Favorite Movies

Silent Hill Silent Hill R
Yes!... one of my Favorite, because of the game, and not just for the game series, this movie always will be special for me. I really love the cast, the characters are well placed and found. As the true fan of the game I should say : they could rise the bar a little higher, making this movie more creepyer and darker, adding more sadness and psycho madness in it (who is not familiar with Silent Hill game series, art and philosophy, for some people at some point, it will be hard to really understand this movie.) Jodelle Ferland she is awesome, I must say, she's got this Silent Hill vibe, a true Sharon and Alessa!. Of course as Alessa she is really showing her acting skills in this movie (and man! I really love her in "Case 39" as Lily). Randa Mitchel, Sean Bean, and I really enjoyed Alice Krige's character Christabella, she looks a little like Claudia (from Silent Hill 3 the game), so this is great SH character approach. And Of course the Outstanding and Brilliant Music by Akira Yamaoka!, (original music score from the game series) his music is Silent Hill itself!
Orphan Orphan R
At some point of view, closer to the end of the movie, when I found Esther's big little secret, at some level I imagined me instead of her, (maybe it sounds strange, but it doesn't) and I started to understand her frustration and anger, that turned to despise and wrath, I felt her deep bleeding scars inside her twisted and broken soul. In an interview Isabelle Fuhrman said : Well I read the script and I really wanted to figure out who she was, thinking about how she feels, that she's a victim in a world that doesn't understand her, and all she's looking for is love, she really just wants to be understood, Esther is trying to get over the troubles that she's had before, by finding the perfect life. (now that's a great understanding and approach to the character!, Bravo! Isabelle.) Isabelle is projecting Esther's character awesomely well in this movie (I can tell, she's gonna be a great actress, she's got the balls, yeaa!) One of my favorite scenes is : Daniel Coleman : [watching Esther neatly cut up her food] Can you eat normal? Esther : I am eating normal. Daniel Coleman : Yeah, maybe in Transylvania or whatever country you're from. Esther : Incidentally, I'm from Russia. Transylvania isn't even a country. It's a part of Romania. Daniel Coleman : You're such a freak. (Ouch!!!....pour Daniel probably sucks at geography, he-he-he! (That's the story of, that's the glory of love.)
