Gran Torino 2008,  R)
Gran Torino
Grand bull dog of all films. Clint Eastwood sums up all of his past films of all of his rough and tough characters and brings them down to this film.
He gives out one of the best performance of this year. His directing brings us a story of a old man that is tough as old nails, yet he ends up helping someone Walter lease would expects to help; a young punk from joining a gang and ends up giving back to his community.
Eastwood's growls are the best part of this film, knowing his past performances and brings it true to men his age that feels he is out of options from his friends and family.

With Honors 1994,  PG-13)
With Honors
Brendan Fraser is a strogling student in Haverd, and thinks he kno0ws all the answers until he runs into a bum, that knows more to life then Fraser thought he would have ever known. One of Joe Pesci's great performance! You think of him more of a mobster character, always with the loud mouth and a gun. Here in this movie he does have a mouth, but it is use to deliever a powerful message. A message about life, and how you can acually live it. A must see movie!
3
Edge of Darkness 2010,  R)
Edge of Darkness
Gibson is BACK! What a great comeback for the major star himself!
This movie is a cross from Mel's Conspiracy Theory (1997) and Payback (1999).
The story line is a typical detective story, a bit slow at points, but you will not be disappointed by Gibson's performance!
4
An Unfinished Life 2005,  PG-13)
An Unfinished Life
A wonderful story with two great actors, Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman. Jennifer Lopez gives out one of her best performance.
5
GoodFellas 1990,  R)
GoodFellas
One of the best mobster films ever made!
6
Amazing Grace 2007,  PG)
Amazing Grace
Amazing story! Amazing acting! Amazing movie!
Amazing Grace, based on actual fact on the European slave trade and how one young man spend his life to fight for the rights of the Africans! Many people belive the song was written by and for blacks, but instead it was written by a white munk who saw so much evil and send himself to the church to forgive his sins and live with the hunted dreams of what he had done.
An amazing story that everyone should see today!
7
The Dark Knight 2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight
The most darkest Batman movie I had ever seen. I did believe this movie went way too long for 3 1/2 hours, however, it was way too violent to be rated PG-13.
Heather Ledger portrayed the Joker far from the character Jack Nicholson portrayed in the 1980's. The Joker in this movie was psychotic beyong belief and I was amazed not to recongize by face or voice.
Aaron Eckhart, as Harvey Two Face, did a beyond job with his heroric/villinas role.

This was indeed the Darkest movie of the year, and seeing another time will not be too long.

Who did a better job playing Joker? To me, both Jack and Heath gave their portray of the dark knights villian. Both did the character differently yet effective!

The Air I Breathe 2007,  R)
The Air I Breathe
WOW! What great acting from actors all around.
Grand performances from Brendan Fraser and Kevin Bacon!
Best movie performance since the movie CRASH (2004).
Itâ??s always nice to see characters never involved with one another, but some how their lives over lap with one another.
9
Finding Forrester 2000,  PG-13)
Finding Forrester
A powerful movie of words. What writing give you, and where it could lead you. This movie proves that anyone can write, if they truely write from the heart.
I can not write as any famous writer you may heard of, but I have ideas, and ideas leads to words.
Do not hide your words, let them speak out your truth.
10
Cats Don't Dance 1997,  G)
Cats Don't Dance
I love musicals. I even like Singin' in the Rain. This movie has both in it. A cartoon cat that is trying to make it big in Hollywood, and to do this he has to go through song and dance to make his new friends believe in themselves and in their dreams of stardum. Wonderful songs, interesting plot, memerable characters. Even the kids at home would love to sing along with this cool cat!
11
Howard the Duck 1986,  PG)
Howard the Duck
The reason I like this movie more among all of Lucus's other movies is because it is one of a kind, origonal, and has it's witty humour. There are not enough creative plot lines out there with origonal ideas, and Lucus had it right here.
Yeah I can understand why some people think it is a lame movie with the costumes, and the plot, but that was the idea of Hollywood movie magic, and creativety.
I fully enjoyed this film, and I believe that George is wrong to say this was his wrost movie he ever made.
A MUST SEE MOVIE!
12
Dead Poets Society 1989,  PG)
Dead Poets Society
It is because movies like these, it makes you think. Not hink of who you are, but whom you come be. Poetry is indeed the world we live in. We breath it in every minute. This movie allows you to realize how important your life can be. No one can tell you whom you are or what to do or how to live your life. Only you can do that, and this movie brings that to your attention. Love this movie. Love your life! Love poetry!
13
Much Ado About Nothing 1993,  PG-13)
Much Ado About Nothing
Director and Actor, Kenneth Branagh is able to bring out the magic and return the text of Shakespeare on screen. Never before would you find great acting between great European actors (Emma Thopmpson and Kenneth Branagh). Denzel Washington plays the Duke well enough that you forget the fact that his role in Shakespeare's time no black man would lead a group of men into a battle.
Keanu Reeves, showing very little emotion throughout the film, plays the villian Don John so well you would want to know if he could continue his corrier as a villianist actor. Some might think that is too funny to think of, but he gave a grand performance!
All actors played their roles very well, and hope to see Kenneth direct a new movie with Shakespeare's text. Already he has directed Othello, Hamlet, King James V, and Much Ado About Nothing.
14
Pay It Forward 2000,  PG-13)

15
A Walk to Remember 2002,  PG)
A Walk to Remember
A powerfully touching story. Almoist a powerful as THE NOTEBOOK. A story, that if you allow it, would touch your heart on what true love is really about. It is so hard to fit in a world when you know you are sick.
I should know, I am a cancer survivor, AML. This story touched my heart in places that no one has ever touched me in the movies. A must see movie!
16
The Prestige 2006,  PG-13)
The Prestige
To illusionist going head to head with one another, never knowing what they are going to do or how they did, but it keeps you on the edge of your seats! Excellent movie! Both Jackman and Bale surprises you every step of the way! You would think you get the trick, however, you will be surprised on the prestige.

One of Robert Redfords movies that is as powerful as the next one. Plays an inmate of a federal prison, yet discovers that it is a prison run by the the wrong man. 36
V for Vendetta 2006,  R)
V for Vendetta
V for Vendetta has to be one of the best movie of this year. It is a movie of the power of idea's and thought.
Unknowing it's Hugo Weaving under the mask gives a fantastic performance. Just because you know her better in Star Wars, Natalie Portman also does a wonderful job.
This movie may not be a huge eye opener for America, but in England it really makes you stand up and think.

One of the most classic lawyer movies made with Al Pacino and his famous finally. Pacino plays a lawyer who can not tell which side of the law is right or what side he belongs to; one client is in jail for a crime he did not commit, another he is strongling to find his inocence, and another that he knows is guilty yet has to defend him. On top of that, he has a judge that is suisidal. What is he to do? What sise will he take?

Blazing Saddles
Do you like Westerns?
Do you like a good comedy?
Do you like Mel Brooks?
Well look no further, this film has it all. From one eyed, hunch hang men, to singing songs as 'The Camp Town Lady.' If you thought it could not be done, well it has in this film! With Gene Wilder, Cleaveon Little, Liam, Dunn, and even Mel Brooks himself. Rent this movie soon to give yourself a good laugh.
58
Blood Diamond 2006,  R)
Blood Diamond
One of the best performances I have seen Leo do, besides THE DEPARTED. Dijmon never siece to amaze me with is acting, and Jennifer has grown up so much since THE LABRYNTH. Great casting with amazing performances! My father thought this movie was so strong and so powerful that he had to get upand leave, because it made him feel uncomfertable to think this did and is happening rightnow in Africa. The 5 Nominations from the Academy Awards was worth it! A MUST SEE MOVIE!

Dan in Real Life
Such a sweet adult movie for everyone to see! This movie proves that Steve does not need to be in a comedy to be noticed.
Everyone, including Dane Cook, did a fantastic job, and I thought the casting was perfect! I would want to buy this move as soon as it comes out!
64
Music Within 2007,  R)
Music Within
An amazing True story of one man that made a difference in this country. The difference of what it takes to fight for people who have been treated less than human just because of a physical appearance. Michael Sheen gives one the best performance I have ever seen.

Not many people know about this amazing movie and I was surprised not to see it in any local theaters. Great one liners after another, and the story keeps you wanting to see it tile the very end! Give this film a chance for what it is and see the amazing acting from everyone in the film.

August Rush 2007,  PG)
August Rush
YES! What a great movie! I enjoyed the music every step of the way. The search for a boys parents in ways unbelievable through music. Robin Williams plays a character never before betrayed in any of his movies, yet did wonders with the character and made it as real as he could.
A movie worth seeing with the entire family!
Oh my god, I just love the ending with the music!
66
Joyeux Noël (Merry Christmas) 2005,  PG-13)
Joyeux Noël (Merry Christmas)
A true story of WWI where things that seemed to be impossible proves that there is hope in this world. A time during carious, men from 3 different worlds stopped fighting on one day and created a friendship that would never be forgotten. Base on a true story, and one to always remember there is still hope and a chance for peace.
67
The Brave One 2007,  R)
The Brave One
One of the most powerful Jodi Foster movies ever made. Most disturbing scenes you will ever see that would want you to turn your head but you want to know if justice will be seen; weather it is from the police or from the victum Erica Bain (Jodi Foster).
This movie kept my interest intact through out the entire film. It felt like a modern, real life super hero on the streets of New York City, only there is no mask, cape, super powers, big fancy car, or villians with with some kind of face paint. This is a real woman, with a gun, and vengence on her mind.
68
WALL-E 2008,  G)
WALL-E
A very deightful movie from start to finish. A wonderful story of this little robot and how he made a difference for man kind and robot.

The little diolog given in this film was quite easy to understand with motions given to all the characters. It goes to show that we can comunicate more than one way to express what we are feeling or trying to say.

The relationship between Eva and Wall-e is classic in the 21 Centery. Nowhere will you find such a romantic cemestry between two life forms.

It is a wonderful movie to have children of all ages to see.
69
Man in the Wilderness 1971,  PG)
Man in the Wilderness
One of the most interesting and dramatic roles I have seen Richard Harris in. Left for dead, Harris travels across the country side to find the man who left him alone to die, and through his journey witnesses both death and life through his own eyes on other people. What drives this man to the end to keep going? Reminded me of the Tom Hanks film, CAST AWAY, but with a different setting.
One of the top Richard Harris classics!
70
Avatar 2009,  PG-13)
Avatar
A very powerful message of a movie! A story of how to understand a tribe that is not your own, such as the movie Dances with Wolves (1990). To understand your enemy you must live among them and their way of life, as we have seen in The Last Samurai (2003). And a powerful message to save the forrest life as we know it, as portrayed in FernGully: The Last Rainforest (1992).

James Cameron, best known for his 1980s Terminator movie and Titanic, tells a powerful message that every man, woman, and child should see. So inspirational to remind us of our past and not to make the same mistake for our future.
71
Slow Burn 2007,  R)
Slow Burn
WOW! What a great twisted detective movie!
I canâ??t understand how I had never heard of this film until now!
Iâ??ve always admired Ray Liotta as an actor; Goodfellas (1990), Article 99 (1992), No Escape (1994) and Crossing Over (2009).
James Todd Smith (A.K.A. LL Cool J) has taken an amazing turn in Hollywood and had become an action star, and he played his role in this film so very well!
Chiwetel Ejiofor (Four Brothers 2005, Kinky Boots 2005, and 2012 2009) has full range of his acting capability to do such great work in his movies!
If you like the kind of movies where you are trying to guess it to the very end, this is one of the best since The Usual Suspects (1995).
72
The Blind Side 2009,  PG-13)
The Blind Side
Indeed one of the greatest Sadra Bullock films ever made!
Bullock played the role so well, she played her age, she played the character as she is. Natural. The blond look was natural for her, even though she is seen most of the time as a brunet.
Even as a true story, it's the movie to see in theater and laugh with the audience.
See it before it gets to rental. Then you would want to buy it off the shelves!
73
Twelve O'Clock High 1949,  Unrated)
Twelve O'Clock High
Great leadership film!
One of the best war performances I have seen in this decade.
Gregory Peck as Gen. Frank Savage gives one of his best performances!
A story to watch and learn about becoming a leader of men in high pressure.
74
The Help 2011,  PG-13)
The Help
What an extreme powerful film!
So well done in all ways; history, acting, costumes, set design.
Viola Davis and Ovtavia L. Spencer had truly shown their colors in this film of presenting a story that needed to be told on screen.
Emma Stone and Bryce Dallas Hoaward both stood in their spot light strong and was about to never out shine the other.
Everyone had done a great job in telling us our history and how things had once been and knowing that we have come a long way in our freedom.
