While it was clear that this movie was made to cash in on the success of George A Romero's Dawn Of The Dead aka Dario Argento's Zombi this plays more like some sort of unodfficiial prequel but does not take the DOTD themes on board to the extent of Mattei's genre entry which lifted the who SWAT thing. This movie represents the pinaccle of the spaghetti zombie craze of the early 1980s but since the other notable genre entries came from Bianchi, D'Amato and Mattei this was hardly surprising. A pretty solid film. This was once banned in Britain during the video nasties scare but in truth its simply great fun and worthy of repeat viewing.
