Batman Begins 2005,  PG-13)
Batman Begins
Spectacular to look at. It opened new horizon for the comic turned movie genre
2
Dreamgirls 2006,  PG-13)
Dreamgirls
you laugh, cry, snap your finges, cheer, feeling regret, getting angry.... rarely a film will get you so involve, let alone a musical.
3
The Incredibles 2004,  PG)
4
The Bourne Supremacy 2004,  PG-13)
5
Million Dollar Baby 2004,  PG-13)
Million Dollar Baby
At first I thought it was a boxing movie, rages to riches story a la Rocky. Only it does better. However the second half of the film took my breath away. Awfully thought provoking and sensibly touching. Definitely has a place in the Hollywood movie history
6
Moulin Rouge! 2001,  PG-13)
Moulin Rouge!
Sumptous outbreak of colours in infinite tones makes this a superb visual feast. Lavish sets and breadth taking costume. Fluid pace and flawless editing. However, the singing is just so-so. Clever use of modern pop songs, incorporating them into the story. It makes you believe that grand love does exist and happens only once in a lifetime.
7
Hotel Rwanda 2004,  PG-13)
8
Marvin's Room 1996,  PG-13)
Marvin's Room
With 2 of the most talented actress of our times, I expected this movie to be better. Hume Cronyn was reduced to bed, mouthing less than a few words!!?? What a waste of talent. It's nice to see a young but rebellious Leonardo, beginning to shine. The theme is depressing, so that should limit its mass appeal. However there is a hidden hint of optimism.
9
Memento 2000,  R)
Memento
too taxing to understand. I have seen it at least 4 times but still have problems. Intriging.
10
Pan's Labyrinth 2006,  R)
Pan's Labyrinth
Poignant, mesmerising.
11
Sex and the City 2008,  R)
Sex and the City
First of all, I confess that I LOVE the tv series.
But unfortunately I cannot say the same for this movie. Not all tv
series can make a successful movie. 4 main characters are just too
much to be squeezed into a 2 hours movie.
There are too many side tracks that were given insufficient time to
develope. In the end, there are bits of everything but nothing
really satiates.

The script is contrived, trying to milk the last drop of out of a
successful tv series. The ending feels inconclusive. It seems to give some loopholes for a sequel.
