The Incredibles 2004,  PG)
The Incredibles
In my opinion, the only truly perfect movie I've ever seen. Perfect in every conceivable way - animation, voice acting, script, story, direction.
2
The Right Stuff 1983,  PG)
The Right Stuff
Electrifying, exciting, amazing, excellent movie about the Mercury space project and the history of aviation leading up to it. There's a slightly smarmy subtext in the film but if you can overlook that, it's a great, great movie.
3
A Hard Day's Night 1964,  G)
A Hard Day's Night
The Beatles first and best film and one that changed how rock and roll movies were made.
4
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer 1986,  NC-17)
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer
Low budget but absolutely terrifying film based loosely on the claimed exploits of Henry Lee Lucas is the most horrifyingly realistic, scary serial killer movie I've ever seen.
5
The Hitch-Hiker 1953,  PG-13)
The Hitch-Hiker
Excellent low-budget movie, possibly one of the first American serial killer movies made and directed by Ida Lupino, one of the few (if not the only) female directors in Hollywood at the time. Very lean, very tense, very well made.
6
Finding Nemo 2003,  G)
7
Toy Story 1995,  G)
Toy Story
Amazing film that actually makes you forget you're watching a computer animated cartoon.
8
Toy Story 2 1999,  G)
9
Raising Arizona 1987,  PG-13)
Raising Arizona
Typically insane movie from the Coen Brothers, two of my favorite movie makers. I don't necessarily like every film they make - some of them are a bit too esoteric for my tastes - but they when they hit, they hit on all cylinders.
10
The Thin Blue Line 1988,  Unrated)
The Thin Blue Line
Mesmerizing documentary by the great Errol Morris, who makes docs like no one else I've ever seen. This one originally started out as a doc about a guy nicknamed "Doctor Death" because he always testified in capital cases and claimed that the defendants would kill again if released. While interviewing one of the men he testified against, he became convinced that the man in question, Randall Adams, was innocent. He interviewed everyone concerned with the case and made this doc out of the footage. Incredibly, he gets the true killer to do everything but come right out and confess to the murder, yet when the film was released, Adams was still on Death Row in Texas. The film eventually got Adams a retrial and he was released. An amazing documentary.
