My Favorite Movies

  neverish's Rating My Rating

Fight Club 1999,  R)
Fight Club
Chuck Palahniuk + David Fincher = One fucking brilliant movie. The book is superior, but they could not have made a better screen adaptation. It simply isn't possible.
2
Seven (Se7en) 1995,  R)
Seven (Se7en)
There is so much good about this film, I don't know where to start. One of those movies that just blows your mind.
3
Serenity 2005,  PG-13)
Serenity
I will never get enough of this movie, nor will there ever be enough of the Firefly universe.
4
The Fifth Element 1997,  PG-13)
The Fifth Element
It's not perfect, but it has so many aspects to it that are that the flaws simply fade into the background.
5
Girl, Interrupted 1999,  R)
Girl, Interrupted
Yet another movie I fell in love with when I was in high school. I have seen it countless times, and it never gets old. It likely never will.
6
The Royal Tenenbaums 2002,  R)
The Royal Tenenbaums
My favourite of Wes Anderson's movies. Such subtle, black humor -- you don't laugh out laugh, but you are certainly entertained.
7
Dogma 1999,  R)
Dogma
I could place every single one of Kevin Smith's movies on my favourites list, but then I wouldn't have any room for anything else. Dogma, my favourite of the View Askewniverse and the first I ever watched, will just have to take the place for them all.
8
Finding Nemo 2003,  G)
Finding Nemo
This movie is crack. Delicious, delicious crack. So many quotes from high school come from this movie.
9
V for Vendetta 2006,  R)
V for Vendetta
I'm actually glad it's not a completely faithful adaptation of the comic, which I find slow and bland in comparison.
10
28 Days Later 2002,  R)
28 Days Later
OH FUCK THEY'RE GONNA GET ME.
11
American Beauty 1999,  R)
American Beauty
"Look closer."
12
The Transporter 2002,  PG-13)
The Transporter
I'm not really big on action films. They generally have to be really, really good in order to maintain my attention for longer than the first five minutes of any given fight scene. But this movie? Enthralled me.
13
The Cell 2000,  R)
The Cell
It's not a perfect movie by far, but it's still brilliant and a wonderful visual treat.
14
Pan's Labyrinth 2006,  R)
Pan's Labyrinth
EEE, I love this so much!
15
El Orfanato (The Orphanage) 2007,  R)
El Orfanato (The Orphanage)
